Final fitting of the hard parts, now with boots. And with the pistol in the holster. It really drags it down. Also added some lead weights to the drop boxes, so they wont fly around in the wind. Next pictures should come tomorrow, and will be WIP of the soft parts
-
As with the TK, I mostly have the holster, because I have to. Never really use the damn thing, except for a few rare ocasions
-
My blaster is from PA and is quite heavy(for a prop)
-
I want to avoid anything going around the leg to begin with. If I later find out the boot collapses I may look for alternatives, but I hope it will stay up by itself and the volume of my leg.
-
Cool. Thanks for the tip

Did you make a two strips of ABS washers with two rivets in each, or did you make 4 individual ABS washers, and how big?
-
I'm about to attach the holster to the boot now, and just wanted to know if anyone had some last minute advice. In addition to the four rivets, I intend to give it some E-6000 and adding some ABS strips to the inside of the boot. Either vertical or horizontal. Let me know if you have an opinion Dry fitting the holster to the boot.

Yeah found it to be easiest and cheapest to make my own. This way it will fit me and I wont have to remove all those pockets. I will make sure to document it all very well, when I go visit my mom next weekend, and get this thing done

I believe I have all the fabric I need now 4x1,5m of black fabrick for the flightsuit and vest. 0,5m of slightly different fabric, for making the quilted sleeves on the vest. 1x1,5m of white fabrick for the cummerbund. 0,5m of off-white fabrick for the pouches. 1x1,5m faux suede for the riding patches and mud flap. Assorted velcro and elastic i white and black, and both 20mm and 50mm.

Or maybe the top people here on BSN should take a look at the movie and count for themself, how many stripes they see, instead of waiting/hoping for some random dude to take a nice looking picture
-
Yeah I have given faux suede a lot of consideration, as its almost 1 third of the price of real suede.
-
Went out today and got almost all the fabric I need to sew the soft parts. Only thing I couldnt find was the Suede. Looking around on the net for it now, but its hard to tell what to order when I cant see or feel it myself. What is more recomended, Goat or pig suede?

Thanks I'm using the boot tutorial to build theese, and the hardest part about making your own boots, is finding the right base boot and vinyl
-
Continuing on the boots. Toes are glued in with E-6000 and are dryfitting the calves and flaps. Heres how the calves and toe comes together. And with the flaps Need to tweek the flaps just a bit I think, so they wont go over the sole of the boot, but stop right at the edge. And damn I want a sweing machine!! Have been doing the top stiching by hand, but to make it look like a machine...takes time!! To anyone else making their boots right now...get a sewing machine. This could be done in minutes, but in hand it takes a couple of hours!

I got them as spares for my issued helmet, but do a search for team wendy helmet pads, and you should be able to find something. They attach by velcro, so are very easy to change out and move around.
-
Yeah I noticed, but its going to be tough to cover up... Will look at what options I have, or maybe just leave it as is.
-
Helmet padding added. Its a real snug fit

I need your opinion on my finsihed helmet

What I can see from the 501st CRL, there are no level 2 or 3 for the biker scout. I know Lancer exist, but its not on the main CRL. I can understand why you wont change it straight away, and will let people get the time to argue against this, if they can indeed find anything to prove it wrong. Hell I was one of the people who might have flamed you a bit when the TD greeblie thing came up. But if you worry about those caught mid build, just change it to 6-7 stiches for base acceptance, and make level 2 or 3, what ever Lancer would be, with 6 stiches. As it is right now 6 stiches wont be accepted by the CRL. But why people want to keep 7 stiches on their cummerbund is hard for me to understand. Its an extremely easy fix if you know someone with a sewing machine, and takes an hour max to fix and no extra cost what so ever. But I'm glad your taking this in to consideration Marcel. At the start it sounded a bit like you just didtn want it to change at all hehe

Started on the boots. Letting the vinyl cool before reorganising the pins, to pull the vinyl in at the sole. Perdy colours :-D

Niiice I like

Well, all I see is evidence that the CRL is wrong, and nothing that states the CRL is right...

Agree completely!
