Yes they have an extra "flap" that goes on the cummerbund. I believe its sewn on, but I think it would be more practical to just velcro it on.
-
I couldnt get a good look at the stiches on the guy Han throws around, and I looked at it on my 43" tv... But if someone could tell me how to take screen grabs off the computer, I might give it a try.
-
I was doing a very fine zig-zag line all the way round the suede, and I believe thats what weakened the faux suede too much, so its been given a larger zig-zag now. And no, no one will ever notice unless they put their head in between my legs...
-
Cant remember the name, but there is some kind of fabrick you can iron in between layers, that will make it stick together, a bit like gluing, and this will be the solution we will try out.
-
Ran into a major problem with the faux suede used for the riding patches. It have started to fall apart in one place. We have tried fixing it but it kept falling apart in that same place, and now the fabric of the suit is damaged as well. So will have to see if that can be fixed somehow without taking the entire suit apart and sewing in a new piece!!!
-
Hehe yeah, like a last minute fix. They didnt even cut them to fit
-
Dont have the time stamp, but I think we could get a clear view of the stiches, if this wasnt a picture of my tv screen. Its right before the Ewoks attack where 3PO is yelling at the troopers. Again here in the speeder bike chase. And it seems like the pouches are sewed on with the same distance to the outermost stiches as the width of the rasied areas. And I know its not the issue here, but look how they attached the TD!! EDIT: All pictures I took are here on Photobucket: http://s1167.photobucket.com/albums/q627/Arnie_DK/BR%20stills/?start=all

neck seal Why stormtrooper neck seals for Scouts?
Arnie replied to TB-7076's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I watched the BR fbf yesterday, actually looking for the cummerbund rasied areas, but tried to look at the overall scout as well, and I didnt see any of the scouts have a neckseal. Sometimes their balaclava went over the jumpsuit, making their necks look thick. Otherwise, the only place I have seen a neckseal, is on the 360 scout, and I believe thats because its static and the neckseal probably helps tying the costume together. -
Spent the night watching the BR fbf and where ever I could I counted ribs. There where never more than five in any frames. Only managed to take pictures with my camera, and will look through those and upload what I find may be usefull. Still waiting to see evidence of 6 ribs, other than that it was decided sometime ago by some other dudes who didnt have better reference.

Thanks Your shoulders look deeper than mine. Who made them?
-
Only thing thats bugging me a bit, is the distance between the chest/back and the shoulder bells... But it would look weird if they where any higher I think. Any thoughts?

Progress so far. Flightsuit and vest are more or less done. Need the suede mudflap on the suit, but waiting with that, until the cummerbund is done, and the vest needs velcro to connect that with the cummerbund. Flightsuit alone And with the vest And some hard parts Didnt bring my balaclava... Cummerbund is WIP and pics will come shortly.
-
Yeah and I dont want that, hence the velcro. But thanks. I went with the glove overlap
-
Need to decide where to place the underarm piece. On the elbow, like an elbow protector, or on the arm overlapping the glove. I have seen both be done, both on costumes and on screen, so I guess its up to me to decide. I'm securing them to the sleeve with velcro, so I have to decide on a position. So elbow ...or overlap
-
So the vest is done
-
Continuing with the vest sleeves. Adjusting the sleeve length I know I dont need to have all the other parts on, but... Baaaah!!
-
I'll be starting on the pouches while my mom continues on the vest. I want to use the pinned templates here from BSN, but they seem to be missing the flap that connects the pouch to the cummerbund. Any sugestions on where I should attach this? I'm think between the pouch back and the front flap, but any advice would be greatly apreciated.

Standard army issue mate Making sleeves for the vest now.
-
Stopped with the flightsuit for now and started on the flak vest.
-
Thanks That was actually the pic I wanted to use, but couldnt find it, so thanks
-
Much better, me thinks

Busy sewing And its a good idea to remember the thigh elastic, so you wont have to cut open the stiches you just made Trying it on. The riding patches are too long, so thats going to be a pain to fix!
-
Well the cutting and sewing have begun. Starting with the flightsuit. Trying before sewing(yes its supposed to be baggy right now ) And the back suede patches
-
Do anybody have good reference pictures of the riding patches and mudflap?
-
Indeed. Took apart an old cheap airsoftgun to get the weights, and then barried them in hot glue.
