hmmm my gloves might not be quite right, as the zipper is offset from the middle. Will this be a problem with the final look once the zipper is removed? I feel stupid. I can't seem to figure out how to put up a pic Oh and the suede is supposed to be black right? While replying to another thread, I saw an attach files icon which is exactly what I was looking for. Any reason why its not showing up here?

As far as I know I have the espirit? gloves that were the same as the original used. My wife took a look at them for removal work and had no idea what to do with the zipper. The band across the back will be easy to get rid of. Anybody know how they removed the zipper? Did they just remove it and sew down the flaps to the inner lining, or did they add fabric to fill in the hole.?

I am new to the armoring scene, but it seems like mariners wax would restore the shine to your armor. It works just fine on composite material kayaks, which are mostly a plastic based material.

heyo all, It has been awhile since I posted, and I really don't think that I have accomplished much more since then. I think I am ready to try this process again though and I have a couple of questions. I have a holster piece that I could use on my boots, but its an older, simpler, version I think. Is that still canonizable or do I need to get the one with all the detail on the side? If I need to get a new one, is there someone that is selling one or something? If I went through KS it would end up being like $50 and that is for the rough cut, untouched one. Does anybody live in the Western New York area, that could possibly help me or give me advice. For the most part I just need to put the tall parts on and do all the hems/decorative sewing. I don't have a rivet tool. Do I need to buy one, or is there some alternative that I could use instead?

I feel dumb What shape is the toe piece supposed to be if you are following the tutorial?

Is there a pattern for the front of of the pouches? It seems like there was an image, but the link is broken or something. I think I drew out a working pattern, but I want to make sure its right.

If you buy the KS bund it comes with black suspender type deal. I guess your idea is a valid one.

Hmmm I think I will be taking some pointers from this thread. I just but a small can a shoe polish to help with this process. I don't know if it will work or not.

Ok, so I went and bought a good bit of duck cloth, then I see that this cummerbund pattern has three layers of fabric. I was told to get the duck cloth by someone from the Florida garrision, but now I am not sure what I am supposed to be using it on. Can I do just use duck cloth to make the bund and the pouches or was that supposed to be just for the pouches?

What sort of paint did you end up using for the boots? If it ends up being the cheapest option then I am definitely up for trying it. So far I haven't been able to find cheap desert boots in my size. I have found them in my size starting at $60 or not in my size for like $20. Grrrr. What color sole am I looking for? We found some spray paint that works on vinyl, but it was more of a light brown. I also found some desert boots in my size, but they were pushing the olive green end of tan.

I have a pair of black combat boots that I would like to use as the basis for my scout boots, but the obvious problem is that they are black. Would it be okay if I got some heavy duty spray paint and painted the soles tan? I will get tan soled boots if I need to, but I would prefer not seeing as I already have good ones (and comfortable ones at that)

Well after being inactive on this forum for awhile I am coming out of the rafters to say that my TB build is going well. Well mostly. Is there a pattern for the cummerbund or some general starting specs? I found the pattern for the pouches, but the rest of it I can't seem to find anything on. Is there a material that the cummerbund/pouches need to be or is it a free-for-all as long as it is white? I have a strange boot question as well, but I will post that in the boot section.

TB-1019 that makes sense. I will have to try the flight suit before I buy and see how it fits. Jabbasdead: I suspected as much. I actually considered doing a seatrooper, but it requires a lot of modding. If I ever decide to do a second armor it will be a seatrooper.

I have looked through the forum and this is what I have gathered so far. Flight suits are baggier, cheaper and require more work in the removal of stuff. Motorcycle suits can be more expensive but don't require much modding and they are tighter. The CRL even for Lancers doesn't say whether the suit should be form fitting or somewhat loose, so it is up to me as to what I would rather wear. Am I right so far?
