Good looking armor, and thanks for cheering me up about how long it took for the armor to get to you. I'm from Puerto Rico and if it took 6 days for it to get to you it might take the same amount of time for it to get here! (I haven't ordered it yet btw)

have you tried trooperbay? it's got the tank striping too

3m bolt covers question
BananoPower22 replied to BananoPower22's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Awesome, so ill just take a black tshirt and cut and glue it to the inside. Much better! I was kind of bummed since I thought I had to paint the inside... Jason David Frank ( Tommy from the original power rangers) is stopping by this may and I was hoping that he'd sign the inside of my bucket... Lol -

BananoPower22 replied to BananoPower22's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
thanks brothers, here's how they look now painted, they look awesome although glossy, but I don't mind, looks cool next I need to paint the inside of the helmet, i think i'll use the rubber coating they use on the bed of pickup trucks. -

3m bolt covers question
BananoPower22 replied to BananoPower22's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
thanks for the quick answer! -
Hey guys, my 3m bolt covers got here today and before I start painting them I want to assemble them.. but I don't know exactly how.. Here's the bolt. At the end of it is a nut And here's the hole I made on the helmet so I could hold the front plate and back plate together But there's a problem... the bolt fits just fine, but the nut at the end makes it impossible to fit and the nut is almost the size as the area itself... w/o flash Should I cut the hole up a bit more wide so that the nut can go through or do I trim of the nut?

Which helmet to go with???
BananoPower22 replied to jaycee9's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I love my KS. It was a ver run and interesting build. If you decide to go with the KS kit, be sure to lurk around the forums for references and build threads before building. Once that's done the KS build will be a piece of cake! -
Thanks brother, here's how it's looking so far. All painted up and glued

looking awesome! first troop is the best, and the next one, and the one after that, and next.. you know!

My MC snout arrived Painting it The paint looks kind of messy but it's somehow the effect of the camera flash. Up close in person it looks fantastic! Once it dries I'll use some e6000 to glue it, snap some pix and show you all how it's looking so far. All I need now is the 3M bolt covers and next I'll paint the inside of the helmet. And about the paint on the inside of the helmet, does it has to be both back plate and face plate of the helmet that needs to be painted in black or just the back part?

It's up to you really. If you wish to get it assembled go for it. I went with the kit and assembled it myself and it wasn't difficult to build. It's good practice in case I wish to get another scout helmet

Yes indeed you herd that, pm on yer way matey

could I get some info about that too?

how wide are the thigh straps? (sorry for the question)

Hey guys I still haven't ordered my SC armor - yet. I think I will this Thursday though, if I manage to get all the munnies. I haven't even ordered the darned armor and I'm all nervous, my mind's building up all these questions and I don't know what to do... so I just come to you guys with them questions. Does the SC armor comes with all the decals necessary for the armor, or do I have to purchase them separately? The nylon webbing, I've been reading around some threads and I see that what the SC armor brings is not accurate and it's not up to lancer standards, so what do I exactly need? I know this might be a little too much but which are the exact straps that I need? Does anyone have or can anyone make a list? Like... color, inches, etc? I think that's all for now...

Very nice suit! Reminds me that I need to finish sewing them suede patches...
-
Not at all.. Just be sure to have clamps and tape to keep things steady. The KS was my first TB helmet build and it wasn't really hard to build at all. Actually, it was just fun

pics!!

awesome! i was super worried about it.. thanks for clearing it up bro!
-
just received confirmation that my mc (or mlc, idk i always get it wrong) snout has been shipped... should arrive any day now! just one question though, i ordered it with the 'riser plate' and I'm worried that it might not fit the KS' snout... has anyone used a MC snout on a KS helmet before?

Trooperbay decals took like two weeks to get here. Considering the fact that I live in Puerto Rico, it's a fair amount of time to wait. I've waited over two months for stuff to get here lol so I didn't complain about those two weeks. About the padding I haven't really decided yet. I think I'll be using random pieces of foam and cut them out and keep adding until it's comfortable and stays in place. Since the foam is yellow I think I'll be dyeing them in black... But I'm not really sure yet. I'll be sure to tell you once I get to that part

I'll try to repaint the snout area. Does it matter which type of black paint I use? I was thinking of using some sort of black rubber spray paint, kinda like the same type used for pick up trucks (just because it looks and feels cool). Would that be okay for lancer?

Hey there scouts, I just wanna share what I've done so far with my KS helmet. I haven't done much, but something's something. I changed the KS decals with Trooperbay ones, and I'm temporally using the KS snout until the MC snout gets here. I've also ordered the 3m bolts which they should be here any day, and I'll probably end up painting the inside of the helmet in black since I misplaced the black mesh that the helmet came with and now I can't find it... I probably threw it away Any comment about the placement of the decals or anything else? Thanks for peeking brothers and sisters, I'll probably update once the 3M bolts and the MC snout get here.
