Thermal detonator greeblie, new pics
4505Marcel replied to lonewolf's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I agree on one hand, but on the other the 501st don't clear storm troopers with the add ons listed, they require troopers to be uniform. While I like the film blooper add ons I also agree it is best to keep us uniform for cannon events and it also makes it easier for gmls to clear. It is the iconic charector we are after not really some trooper in the back ground who's shoulder bell had fell off by accident or one that needed a quick fix to get him on screen. At this point untill the greeble is nailed orientation wise I'd say both is fine, but once we know which way the majority had them that will be the only way allowed. -
Very nice indeed bro

Oh man just as we thought it was nailed, maybe there were some both ways, weve seen already in other costumes this happen wit costumes getting thrown together. We need to pick one though. -
Yes if your looking for what lancer requires now, then some need changing, pop over t o the lancer crl bro. The 2 elastics on the knees is what we have found from the blue ray release, only a requirment for lancer

If your concerned about the bund stitch spacing, get kitted up again get your pouches in the right place sitting up against th chest plate and then mark out where the lines need to sit. When in kit you should be able to just about see all the stitch lines between the pouches

The boots turned out great mate, loving what you did with the soles. 2 tones soles are not acceptable for lancer, so you may have cured the problem for a lot of state side troopers who say they cannot get a single coloured sole, youve also lost the sole stitching again a lancer requirement. There very nice top job, my only suggestion would be have been to try and lose some of the dip between where the laces are at the bottom, I really stuff the toe section undernieth that point, which tightens up the vynil normally and you loose some of the dip, you can get rid of it 100% unfortunately due to how the boos are constructed. Big thumbs up from me though.

A belt really is a main part for a TB bro, really the only things you could miss out and still look like a TB would be the vest, and possibly the crotch patches ect. All the parts should come in the kit unless you are making them yourself

Not too bad, theres a few little tweaks though. The pouches are the wrong way round, Ideally you need to un pick the stitches at the front to add an extra one, you need 7 verticle stitch lines giving 6 raised areas, I would also say they could be a little closer together, and I cant see the inverted curve on the cod. The thong elastic doesnt look like 50mm (2") to me. Only minor issues though, your getting there :0)

Yup defo option A mate -
Lens is an easy one, dont heat it up its flexable as it is and stick it straight in with hot glue, sticks instant and holds well. I wouldnt use hot glue for anything else though. Also dont rule out abs weld for the build, sticks the two together very well and can be mixed with abs shavings to make a paste and fill the gaps which in turn can be filed/sanded. Ive not made a LW helmet but have worked alot with abs, I oersonally wouldnt use too much superglue, I find it can break joint even the felxable stuff.

PM sent bro -
Just a note if you look at the picture posted up by Jeff in the blue ray thread the split side of the greeble does actually go upwards with the cylinder on the inner side, been waiting to have this confimed for weeks.

Stunning thank you Jeff, well id say 100% we have the right part, also clearly shows the two rectangular parts sticking out the top (taking into accout this is a mirrored not flipped image), which clears up the orientation question for me. So that puts the cylinder part on the inside not the out side edge as we first thought. Thank goodness for that as I glued mine on that way, Cyberscout and myself were talking about this last night, said we thought it was this way, but now its all cleared up. Once again thanks Jeff for posting up. -
Sorry bro had to moderate your first post we dont allow swearing on the forum. You should be able to see the lancer standards in the public section, The Imperial Bulletin board under costume standards. But as said above you wont be able to see previous lancer apps untill 501st approved and have more access to the forum sorry.

I too would love to see a screen shot blown up via the blue ray release, instead of what we have just to nail this especially the orienattion of it. -
Needed: Altmann's Scout Trooper helmet insights
4505Marcel replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
As far as I know the Altmans always had an amber lense, certainly all that I have ever seen. -
TD is upside down though, well thats the debate at the moment, really wish we could get a screen grab of similar quality, Just to nail the greeble orientation.

Stunning work, love seeing the props troopers put together
-
Yup you want the bund thong on the inside, when I do mine I have them attach at the front under the cod as its easier to dress that way. reguarding pouch placement that will vary from costumer to costumer, but they want to sit wide enough so you can see all the ribbing detail on the bund, and sit under the chest plate and just over hang the belt by little bit. The pouches dont want to be so far apart they shoot way past the sides of the chest plate, this is why the ribbing detail on the bund is also adjusted width wise slightly on the wearers girth to get it all to sit right.

Heat question for the military folks
4505Marcel replied to Smiling Fox's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Scouts are arnt bad at all mate to wear, now you try wearing a full latex predator suit in the sun, now thats hot lol! -
The linked boots should be fine, just need to weather out the tops of the soles a little to uniform the sole colour. But when building the boots add the toe trim that goes around the sole low enough so it covers the boot stitching so I cannot be seen as they were not seen on screen. The boots I use with the plain soles are available all the time on Ebay UK, ive also brought them from Germany, France exactly the same.
