or here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=6891 The KS cummerbund and pouches are somewhat off. They are a little too big. When filled, the average pouches are 6 inch x 7 inch x 2 inch. P.S. How are the boots?

You could try something similar to this that they do on Clone buckets. http://forum.clonetroopers.net/index.php?s...ic=8112&hl=

Not to buy from him, to find out where he buys his base boots. Would he not tell you where he buys them? I figure it would be easier for you to buy from a UK store than from a US store. -

Have you tried contacting 4505Marcel to see what boots he uses? He's in UK. -

You are free to mix/match anything you want, but you will likely find that your costs will be more if you mix and match parts. The KS parts are not as accurate as either the MC or SC. The MC is more than likely the most accurate (sorry Jeff). In terms of quality of the parts, MS and SC are similar, it's just that they are slightly different. MC's knees and shoulder bells are more accurate. MCs backplate and tank have cleaner lines. I find the SC armor to be more than adequate. You will find contact with SC to be easy and shipment will be quicker than MC. I would suggest you avoid the KS body armor. They make an excellent helmet (when it's assembled properly), but their body armor is not accurate. Being a smaller person, you are going to need to work on trimming down a lot of the armor. -

The KS chest and backplate are VERY wide. If you trim, you will end up having to remove way too much material and it will not maintain it's appearance. -

PM sent with information. -
This was an approval from back in October 2009. Sorry for it taking so long to get your tag and photo. Hopefully someone will get to the photo at some point. As it stands right now, Lancer applications are still on hold awaiting completion of a new Lancer CRL.

The Lancer tag I can do. The photo on the Lancer page I cannot.

I personally see no reason why the Israeli boots cannot be used. As you can see in the MOM photos, they have a very similar design and the MOM boot vinyl comes down as far as would be needed on the Israeli boots to cover the diamond pattern. But, do not order them based on my opinion. Hopefully bluecyclone and Brotherhalo can also chime in on this. -
Dang your outfit looks fabulous! GIMME!

You could try contacting Marcel (4505Marcel) and ask where he gets his boots. He is in the UK. -

We are unsure on the boots, so we want to see them on you. That is why I am asking for complete costumed photos from all angles. There is more to a costume than simply the appearance of the item. Each item needs to fit properly on the person. Items that I was approved for as lancer may not work for someone with a different body shape or size. It's not just about each item, it's also about the total look. We are concerned about the shape of the boots you have, so we would like to see them on you, full body, full costume from various angles. Please post the new pictures and we will get back to you promptly. -

We would like to see update photos of you with the changes you have made in complete costume, including your new boots. Much of the decision is based on the complete look of the costume, not just the individual parts. The pictures in the topic are from before the few changes we asked you to make. -

hey Andreas, could we get another 4 photos of you in the full costume, head to toe, front, back, and both sides, please? -
Someone should shoot the Jedi while waiting. At least it would pass the time.
-
I have a KS lid so there goes that theory We are still working on a decision on your helmet.
-
My mistake on the lid, it's a MLC isn't it? Just seems a little squat and a touch crooked in the back. We'll get back to you on the helmet shape shortly.
-
Hi Steven, I'm just going to touch on a few things here as not to overwhelm you. The changes you for your boots look great. Your helmet is still going to need some work. I'm guessing it is a Rubies? It is a little mishapped, and I will let bluecyclone and Brotherhalo field issues there. The stickers on it need some work too. The grey with black stripe rear vent stickers you are using have black edging around them. The screen used ones do not have a black outline. Your 3 brow vents are rectangular in shape. The screen used one is more rounded and larger. You can also see in this photo that your snout nose vents are incorrectly spaced. Usage of a proper sticker would fix this. Your hook is also incorrect for proportions. The best thing I can suggest for this is you purchase a new sticker set from Moncal/Mr. Bojangles. They can be reached through PM on this forum or on the Legion forums. The next issue is your tank. Your tank has two rivets on the top, one on the greeble and one holding the tank to the backplate. This is a flaw in the Studio Creations armor design. You will need to find a way to connect the tank to the backplate that does not have a rivet on the white portion at the top of your picture here: It should look like this: We'll also need some pictures of your vest, cummerbund, suede riding patch and mudflap.

Hi Andreas, I am the one who posted the reference picture you show with the thread on the sole. You are correct in your observation that the screen used boots do not have a sewn seam on them at the front. As you can see here on the screen used under-boot pre-vinyl, there is none: What you will notice though, is a ridge and a visible sole section around the bottom of the boot. When looking for an alternative for the CRL, specifically for the Lancer specification, the command staff had to decide on a style of boot to specify that was still available on the market as well as easily available throughout the world. What they came up with was a standard construction work boot like this: As you can see, this boot has a similar sole and tread pattern and to the original screen used hiking boot I added a picture of above. The ridge on the edge of the sole allows the vinyl at the bottom of the modified biker scout boot to sit flush and even along the bottom of the boot. This smoothness is key to the clean look of the biker scout boots. The tactical boot you are using, has taller sole edges, no sharp sole ridge edge and a more rounded tread and sole section. On your boot as pictured here, you can see that the way the sole is shaped on the tactical boot causes the vinyl to not sit flush with the bottom of the boot body and top of the tread: This causes the bottom of your boot along the sole to look a little sloppy and causes it to bulge at points. The construction work style boot chosen for the specification for the biker scout boots is by no means a perfect boot for usage on the biker scout boots, but it is a best, available fit for the design and standards which the Pathfinders must set for the costume. It is easier to have an under boot body that is slightly different than the no longer available screen used boot which allows for conformity among all biker scouts. If the Pathfinder command staff who decide on the CRLs for both Pathfinder and Lancer were to start allowing boots that do not have the same sole or tread, and do not allow the vinyl to sit cleanly at the edges of the boot like the screen used boots do, then there would be little conformity amongst biker scouts, especially Lancers. You shouldn't have trouble finding a construction style work boot with a beige sole and similar tread/sole pattern in Europe. There is a scout in the UK (4505Marcel) who purchases the correct boots over in Europe. If you are unable to find the correct boot, perhaps he can point you in the right direction. -
Congrats Eric!

Looks great Eric, we'll get back to you shortly

Those boot pictures are fine. If you could get me a picture of the closed boot from behind as well as similar pictures of the left boot. I'll have a talk with someone and get back to you on those. One thing of note on the boots right away is the top looks a little bit wrinkled and bunched, you may want to use an iron to smooth out the folded vinyl on the top (use a towel to keep the iron from sticking to the vinyl).
