TB Pics from SW: The Costumes TOT - fixes for us all!?
cucblack replied to chimei's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Personally i like the double sewn on the cummerbund. Give better appearance and shape and is not perceptible, but not movie accurate. Anyway cummerbund that I make now don't have this double sewn. And pouches don't have the double sewn too. -
Too difficult and practically impossible get the 100% exact measures. But not the most close measures. If anyone can use a software to get closer measures, excellent, will be help. I only use a tape measures, a calculator and some of logical to do it.

180cm height is a reference size, a standard. Scouts in the movie had different heights.
-
Great Job and great SW family pic Steve. Congratulations!!!
-
Great Job. Pouches too big, resized smaller. For a reference, pouches placed about 1 inch after the last stitching line ribs.
-
Really good Job. But need some adjustments and changes. - Pouches too big for your frame body. Please resized. - Shoulders bells must move up. - Forearm and bicep must in the correct place. - Belt boxes must move up.

10 years ago I finished my Biker Scout Prop. In that moment with no much info. Only the DVD screen shots, no additional info or help. Now 10 years later I'm a member of this great community and here are a lot of info and help. So I decided restart my new armor project stopped years ago, too much time required. For start I show you the movie size measures that I calculated. I made this to the same way how my Helmet measures, 180cm people height. But I made it a little bigger for my big head. I hope this info can help to fix and modify your armors for give them a more movie accurate appearance. Obviously the measures are not 100% correct. I hope your opinions and maybe modify if you have a discrepancy. And if Gino can help, would be great!!!

I made the cod piece more thick, I used two layers fabric. And for the design, works good, no present deforming. About the neck seal it should be only an option, because in a lot of movie shots, clearly bikers don't use neck seal. But in the pic that I posted, he used. -

So, I was right about the neck seal. Is exactly to how I thought. A TK neck seal but made in cotton fabric. Can see my post here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12273 And the cummerbund clearly is two pieces. And cod different design. This is my new cummerbund design, based on the Gino prop pics. This cummerbund is one piece, built on. But I made one in two pieces, soon I'll post pics. Cod piece is not a triangle, has two angles. Is not too noticeable in the pic. -
Easy fix this problem. Tank was cut in straight line, wrong. Must have same shape that armor, curved in some areas.

Glad to follow your build thread. And your Job is awesome. I love aviation. I was a military student pilot in the past, 3 years. In the Airforce.

What am I doing wrong with this SC helmet
cucblack replied to 01Hawk's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I seeing the problem is the face mask. Is narrower than the visor. The face mask must be the same shape that the visor to do fit with the helmet. -
I don't understood the description or this guy sell a real screen used Helmet? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Biker-scout-Helmet-Star-wars-return-of-the-Jedi-Helm-prop-store-no-Sideshow-/161387653001?pt=Collezioni_diverse&hash=item2593742789

BS Mask Project: Tactical/Motorcycle
cucblack replied to cucblack's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I'm analyzing where make the air vents. I want try to keep the original appearance in the most possible. -
First: I don't know if this Post is correct here, in Helmet section. If don't LMK. I want show a project that I began months ago for give a gift to my brother. He is Military and a big Star Wars Fan. First step: Get a Military Helmet and Googles. Second: Made a mask copy. Piece was re-sized and reshaped to fit in the Google lenses. And looks proportional with the helmet. Here an advance:

If you can modify the visor to fit 3M bolts, I can give you my resin 3M bolts, are larger. Need make a 1.5mm deep hole. -

Really strange this face mask. And don't have the ears to fit the visor with the helmet in the same line. Anybody here have a experience assembled correctly this helmet? I see a difficult work to get a correct appearance. Try to use 3M bolts, others too big and will not look proportional with the helmet. If you have a dremel you can increase the bolt mark and make it more deeper to fit with the 3M bolts. If the plastic is too thin, you can fill the back side with bondo and increase the thickness. About the correct fit, is difficult help from here. Try to post front/side pics to can see how looks and correct it. If you want I can post some pics of mine for a reference. Good luck!!!
