  1. Putting this on hold for a while.
  2. I'd be honoured Tom
  3. Much better. That extra 2" of plastic has made a big difference. Without the cummberbund it has a slight gap, so once the cummberbund is on it should fit a treat. Ski, your right mate. The camo really hides any mods
  4. I've done the mod to the chest. I found that when the chest/back was sitting together one side of the chest was a touch shorter, so I decided just to extend that end. I cut and bent some HIPS to form a overlap for the extension. This was glued into place with CA glue. I cut and shaped more HIPS sheet to form the extension piece. This was then given a coat of bondo. Rubbed down and given some paint and weathering. Darren
  5. Oooh, now those are close. Good call Tom
  6. Actually James, that is a pretty good idea. I'm sure I could weather over the join in the shims to make it look 'one-piece'. Good call mate.
  7. Hi gang. Right, I understand that the back armour should slightly overlap the chest armour at the sides to be movie accurate. I have a 44" chest ( a result of many years of Thai Boxing ). I can overlap the armour at the moment, but once the cummberbund goes under it, it's just gonna be too tight. Do I make small extension pieces ( which will mean a total repaint of the armour ) to acheive the overlap ( with the cummberbund ) or do I make a functional decision and have the chest/back butting together at the sides instead of overlapping? I'd be interested to hear what others have done? Cheers Darren
  8. Man, your progressing fast. Lookin good Ski.
  9. Too darn fast.....slow down
  10. Only one KST cleared in the UKG at the moment, and mine and Heatshocks KST's are quite a way off yet???????
  11. Just checking that the greeblie on the right bicep armour is gray?
  12. Did some gray weathering on the hand pads and just didn't like it, so ripped them off Found some gray vinyl left over from my Commander Bacara build, so re-made them. Darren
  13. Nice one Ski. I've got to cover my foam boxes when they arrive.
  14. I got an even better bargain. FREE from a Royal Marine mate of mine after he returned from Afganistan
  15. Added the back / knuckle pad and the strap. I used white vinyl so I weathered it with some light tan acrylic to match the Acrylikhan greebs. The hand pads are padded with a layer of craft foam. Darren
  16. Made a start on the 'dreaded' gloves . Thanks to a lot of help from my mum and my wife we've got the brown leatherette gauntlets made, Acrylickhan's lovely greblies fitted and the gauntlet attached to the donor gloves. Next job is the pads/straps for the back of the hand. Darren
  17. Hi folks. A few small updates. Is the placement of the shoulder bells OK? Also could I ask if the tank is sitting level to you guys? Thanks Darren
  18. Yeah, I'll cover them with some fabric ( gotta get some for the cod anyway ). Small updates Donor gloves arrived. UK military Webtex 95 pattern gloves. As you can see I've cut off the adjustable wrist strap off one of em ( the other will be off in a minute ). Also got the first of the bells done and have added a foam knee pad to give it the 'lift' off the shoulder. Darren
  19. Hi Nath. The base coat I've gone for is a new Rustoleum spray paint colour called 'Fossil' it's a tad darker than the colour on Tom's comparison swatch, but I figured that I'd not need to add as much of the black 'dusting' and I'd be almost spot-on. The brown I've used matches Tom's swatch perfectly. I've used both Tamiya flat earth and Citadel Khemri brown which, when dry and weathered, you can't tell apart. The green camo I managed to match exactly to Tom's swatch by using Citadel Catachan green mixed with 33% white. I've done a decent sized pot of this ( and a littl seems to ge a very long way ) , so I may have some left. If not, we can get together and mix some so that it matches. good to hear from you again mate. Darren
  20. I may stretch some cloth over the foam boxes to give them some texture before I paint em'
  21. Update... Pinstriping corrected and logo removed from the right side of the visor. Darren
  22. Okay, will raise the pin-stripes up a touch ( bugger, I've laquered over them too ) Filled and sanded the back tank, ready for paint and managed to get the chest, filled, smoothed and painted. Darren
  23. OK a few changes made. Dan Cooper ( who has a KST cleared in the UKG ) has the inside of his KST visor base + camo, not black like mine, so I've camo'd my visor to match. Added a little more black weathering ( I'd rather do a bit at a time than do too much first time around ). I think it's lookin OK ( note: the camera and lighting have washed it out a little - it's much grubbier than it appears ). Also this is still the test lense material, not the proper stuff. Next I'm gonna tackle the back tank and chest piece. Darren
  24. Great tutorial vid mate. I'm starting mine ( once I track down a nice donor glove ). Cheers Darren
