Nice one mate. Welcome to the 41st Elite
-
Did a little tweaking today. Made another of the ammo boxes 'functional' so that I could house the romFx amp and batteries. Whilst I was on the boxes I did some more colour wash and misting to achieve the different hues of camo that the CGI troopers have on their boxes. Darren

Fingers crossed for you Cameron.

Lookin good bro

Ah-ha, almost forgot. There we go, changed

Just had the email from the GML and the Kashyyyk is cleared. There are a few things that I WILL improve upon ( the 'drop box' straps are a little short in this pic ( but they're made adjustable ) and I'll be getting a pair of Crowes boots when they are made ), but now I can breathe a sigh of relief. Darren

Cheers for the positive vibes guys

Submitted pics for clearance.........

Before I do the finishing touches to the boot/boot armour I thought I'd ask what different methods people are using to attach the 'toe' armour to the boot? Darren
-
I think they were £60 a pair, so about $80 (ish).
-
Got the lower right leg sorted. These 'heavily modded' boots are the closest I can get at the moment. As soon as Crow gets his movie accurate soled boots into production I'll swap these. Note: I still have the circular greeblies to add to the sides of the toe armour. Now to the left leg. Darren

Doing my usual trawl through fleabay and came across these. Thoughts?
-
Yeah I know I've got to do some alterations on some of em'. I intend to add more stuff over the top, so that some are washed out gray and others are a little darker.

Major Update....... Had a brilliant day and got loads more done that I expected ( with some help from my mum and wife ). Riding patch on pants - DONE Reduced size of thigh pockets - DONE Sorted out knee strapping - DONE Velcro'd ammo boxes to cummberbund - DONE All that's left to do is strap the 'drop boxes' and finish the shin armour ( right done, left to do ) and do some final weathering. Here's the progress so far. Almost there Darren

I really like the idea with the acrylic sticks
-
Cheers for the comments guys. One small but vital step closer to completion. I've made a funtionalversion of one of the front boxes to house the speaker unit. I'll also make another box funtional to house the romFx unit and batteries. More to come.....
-
Cool, one step closer. Can't wait to get a pair of these.
-
Yeah mate, it's LadySewsForUs. Your right her cummberbunds are both gorgeous and built to last.
-
Here's a little teaser pic........ Got the bicep armour padded and sitting nicely and my wife has stitched the velcro onto the cummberbund for the first 6 boxes ( 4 at the front at the 2 either side of the rear boxes ). I realise that I'm gonna need a little tweaking here and there ( I think I need to wear the cummberbund slightly higher for example ). Seem to be getting LOADS done this week, so hopefully I'm back on track. Till the next........ Darren

Update Got the straps attached to the knees, so they're finished. Thanks to my darling wife the velcro has begun to be stitched onto the cummberbund with the first 4 in place. I know that some have said that the small upper box over the right larger box has no flap, but other's say it's a visual blip on the CGI models, so I've made one both with flap and one without ( pic shows the non-flap one ). More to follow....... Darren

Update: Belt assembled and painted......that is all Darren
-
Yeah, hows it going Giovanni. I'm nearing the end of the build and can't decide whether to buy a pair of Wolverine's to modify or to wait for a pair of yours? Darren
-
I've experimented with some soles and I've found that a little tub of acrylic paint, mixed 50/50 with PVA glue seems to pretty durable.
-
Now those are lookin very much like Kenneth Cole soles now mate. Nice Got me wondering whether to order a set of wolverines or wait for crowe to finish his KST boots?
