  1. Well done Chex, sorry to hear about your Grandma.
  2. If you want to be screen accurate then you don't paint the rivets, the ideal Lancer will look screen accurate. Always refer to the movie as much as possible.
  3. Don't hurt yourself any more Logan, save up a few quid and buy one of the better kits.
  4. Well done Clay.
  5. Neat job Colin.
  6. Hi Clare, have you tried to find 3M speedglas bolts? Anything else will be inaccurate, the correct size is the same as a Pound coin if this helps. Folks use taped up washers, plastic covers , machined bolts etc.
  7. Yes this is an approximation, it depends on how big your hips are. Average size is about this, use screen caps to help yourself, pin the belt together and put it on to see how it hangs and try to centre the quik clips between the straps.
  8. Very neat, I would have made the black area a bit larger and gone about half way over the flat surface, this way makes the helmet look more beefy. The grey looks too light and bluey, a standard grey undercoat spray may be a better shade.Buy a decent set of decals, KS are too light and inaccurate, or just tell me to shut up.
  9. Upper thigh is better, once you get the thigh box a nice short [approx 1.5" each way from the quick clip buckle] distance from the front belt section, then try to have the box horizontal to the floor whilst standing, get a mate to mark the position at the back. There are no correct measurements but the worst position is hanging too low.
  10. Great job Mike,I look forward to seeing what it actually is like, another costume question answered hopefully.
  11. It will take a while for them to wear in,then they will fit like a glove
  12. Hi Kyle, my suit is not skin tight, I have big thighs but I think the straps should be better form fitting, an idea may be to reduce them and put a stitch on the outside of your trousers to keep it up in place if your thighs are quite thin. Parallel would look neater.
  13. They should really be one size fits all, it should just fit on top of your forearm, any pics?
  14. I think your trousers look slightly baggy and the thigh straps are too loose .Nice costume.
  15. Thanks Diana, welcome to BS.N, my good friend took the pictures , it was a lovely sunny morning, a rarity over here! I look forward to your Biker Scout Pics.
  16. Hi Andy , I actually bought some from here , they are updated from the picture to black. After a crazy sounding telephone call about having to explain the agreed fact that they will work fine on a 3M headband and are the "same" size etc but not right, the guy actually checked out 3M for me only to tell me that 3M have recently upgraded the Grey accurate bolts to black, slightly rounded bolts which do work but are inaccurate. Thye may have some grey ones but I was unlucky here, hope you prove me very wrong.
  17. This really is a great find, thanks, I hope there is somewhere close in the UK that stocks these.
  18. Looks very nice Martin, the number of times I have been asked why mine is smaller than the other troopers!
  19. Good job, I think you may need a better lens for your helmet, flash photos will show your eyes to the public, apart from that you should be a Pathfinder soon.
  20. Thanks again everyone for the kind words, thanks Daan for the Lancer picture, BS.N is a lovely wee place
  21. This looks more like Moncal's idea of the greeblies, I am uncertain now, but the bicep detail on this screengrab looks like the two pieces have quite a gap between them.
  22. Thanks very much everyone, I have become very obsessed with the Biker Scout costume, mainly due to this great forum, thanks!
  23. It could be the square t bit details, best screengrab yet Jeff.
  24. I am happy with the round piece being the same as the tanktopper "switch", there is a screengrab showing the leftover sticky remains of a rectangular shape where the greeblie must have fallen off the thermal detonator.Sizewise the bicep square pieces could work on the thermal detonator but as I say it is just a possibility until I get a better picture.
