  1. Yes I posted this up somewhere, the headbands are still the same, your grey bolts seem to be getting very rare. I have made the visor bolt holes to allow a 3M bolt to fit flush. the new type would work as well.
  2. Latest update, I am going to be making a few kits hopefully this week, if the 2mm ABS pinseal arrives. Is there anything you guys would need to see incorporated into the helmet kit. I am planning on an accurate decal set, if anybody knows where I can get accurate 3M Speedglas bolts or something similar I would be grateful.
  3. Yes, they are very well made, quality leather, very comfortable and last forever. They are also very expensive, and slightly inaccurate because the originals were a hiking boot covered in vinyl and joined up the rear with a velcro overlap. If you want to be more accurate then you need to build your own boots or get one of the guys here to build you a pair, much cheaper than CABoots. Lancer standards are a bit more specific in comparison to the already high 501st standards.
  4. Thanks Carlsten, I know what you mean, it is just one of the nicest Star Wars helmet designs.
  5. It would have to be very favorable review
  6. Great first post Frank, welcome to BS.N
  7. Some progress, at last, I have reworked the faceplate, the eyes are less curved, much sharper and the nose section is refigured, hopefully to give a better vacpull. The back section now has eight and a half/nine indents, the visor has a deeper indent so the helmet will be much better than the last version. Comparison shots of the last helmet and new faceplate,
  8. Hi Markos, welcome, don't rush into buying any kit, KS is a good kit, the KS lid is very nice, screen accuracy is an almost impossible task but this is what makes costuming fun. We are all striving for total accuracy but there are too many unknowns about the Biker Scout costume presently, good luck friend.
  9. I have read that the boot covering was vinyl and just recently read leather may have been used, does anyone know for sure which material it actually was? Thanks.
  10. I think the pauldron looks terrible, I even dislike the Garrison branding on shoulder bells, I love badges on club jackets etc but to spend ages getting your kit to look so nice and accurate to then plaster it in badges is not my cup of tea.
  11. Well done mate, soon every BS.N Biker Scout will be Lancer , great job.
  12. Looks good Rich, the flight suit option is cheaper but this looks like a lot less work to do.
  13. Nice job Mike, the stitch lines look about the right distance apart, the back join is nice, overlap the correct way, I really like the way the sleeves go to the neck and the slack around the armpits is good. Maybe it is the flash but I think the sleeve material is a bit shiny and could do with a dulling down, I don't think the sleeves were folded outwards but were tucked inside the vest and possibly stitched up at the distance you have it. Maybe a few pics with the chestpiece/back and shoulder bells on would give me a better idea, the opening on the collar needs to hang at the same distance across as the chest/back armour connections. This is a great looking vest mate.
  14. Yes Phil, if I am ever going to London I will definitely be asking to see the Lid.
  15. Sorry guys, I have been busy lately with work, I am also in the process of trying to finish my Yoda puppet for our Star Wars weekends, it has taken me two weeks to sculpt his teeth so the lid is still in the to do list. I think I have overdosed on Biker Scout helmets and am waiting on getting the 100% passion back before I continue with it. Steve Sansweet liked it, but also said his Biker Scout lid was much more flimsy and lighter so I suspect my 2mm ABS is not the same material as the originals.I tried to get some info from him but I don't think he ever looked at it the same as some of us guys would. He did suggest that I throw it about a bit for total screen accuracy!
  16. The sniper rifle really goes down well with the public, they love big guns just like us, here are a couple of pics of the version I made a couple of summers ago,
  17. Hi Jake, the standard idea is the inner edge of the pouch is on the outside of the cummerbund stitching lines, this works quite well but it also depends on how big your belly is! The screen caps are the best way to gauge where you want to place the pouches as this can't really be argued with.
  18. Well done my young apprentice, you look great Andy.
  19. Sorry Manny, just read this, silver is the best, good call.
  20. Well done John, you did a great job on your kit
  21. Where is Master Yoda when you need him! Nice picture Michael.
  22. Sorry guys , I have been busy doing other stuff lately, life is a bit upside down but the helmet is still being tinkered with, the eye area is a bit better now.I hope to have something better soon.
  23. Nicely done Diarmuid
  24. The Rubies helmet is very accurate, I do believe it has been made with the original helmet moulds or was cast from an original. Why it is wrong in certain dimensions could be for various reasons only truely known by Don Post.
