Jimah Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Sweet! On a roll there, you can do eeet! LadySew has done an awesome job with the bund (it is a LadySew, isn't it?)
darren1970 Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Yeah mate, it's LadySewsForUs. Your right her cummberbunds are both gorgeous and built to last.
Grimlock Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Great pics! I just ordered my as well, she does excellent work. Waiting on the next run on armor from MB.
LENOX61 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 You're looking real SHARP Darren..............really SHARP!!!!!
darren1970 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 Cheers for the comments guys. One small but vital step closer to completion. I've made a funtionalversion of one of the front boxes to house the speaker unit. I'll also make another box funtional to house the romFx unit and batteries. More to come.....
Jimah Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Nice work! I have been planning to re-jig my amp setup. Currently I have the amp in a strap in the tank at the back of my armour. Nice fit and the cable is concealed as it runs into the helmet. However the issue is that, as the amp is behind my back, sound projects out behind me but is muffled by my body. Nothing worse than a civvie saying "Pardon?" to a trooper Was planning to move the amp to a front pouch - love your idea! I'm also looking into a wireless setup to save trying to hide the mike lead from the pouch, should I go down this path. Again, love the idea... you must be the Swamp MaGuyver!
darren1970 Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 Major Update....... Had a brilliant day and got loads more done that I expected ( with some help from my mum and wife ). Riding patch on pants - DONE Reduced size of thigh pockets - DONE Sorted out knee strapping - DONE Velcro'd ammo boxes to cummberbund - DONE All that's left to do is strap the 'drop boxes' and finish the shin armour ( right done, left to do ) and do some final weathering. Here's the progress so far. Almost there Darren
Bloodclaws65 Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Man that looks awesome great job . Can't wait to see it all complete and weathered .
Guest Skupilkinson Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Looks great buddy! You paint all your pouches/boxes to match the armor though?
darren1970 Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 Looks great buddy! You paint all your pouches/boxes to match the armor though? Yeah I know I've got to do some alterations on some of em'. I intend to add more stuff over the top, so that some are washed out gray and others are a little darker.
Guest Skupilkinson Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 You're doing a great job mate! Makes me want to bring mine out of storage and make the changes needed for clearance.
darren1970 Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 Got the lower right leg sorted. These 'heavily modded' boots are the closest I can get at the moment. As soon as Crow gets his movie accurate soled boots into production I'll swap these. Note: I still have the circular greeblies to add to the sides of the toe armour. Now to the left leg. Darren
Guest Skupilkinson Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 The very best of luck mate!! You put the time in, did your research and have a great costume for it. Hope the clearance goes the way it should for ya.
mrbungle Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 from what i see, you should not have any problem getting this KT cleared. looks awesome!! really wonderful job you did with the kit. now i am going to have to get off my butt and get mine tip top shape for DC parade.
