mrbill8128
I picked up the 3/4 inch elastic even though 1/2 inch is ok. The top straps were attached with 1/8 inch aluminum rivets.Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
mrbill8128
Nothing is anchored in place yet with velcro, which is why my shoulder bells are out of place. But I wanted to get a feel for things so far. So I did a quick suit up. Let me know your general thoughts. I'll be starting the vest next. mrbill8128
Question -- is this the correct alignment for the parachute clips? I've been watching the video and staring at the CRL. But I want to make sure. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
Chopper
Yes. From the CRL:
mrbill8128
Cummerbund and cod material arrived, but not the batting. I dread the soft parts! Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
mrbill8128
I know it'll be some time before my replacement belt and drop boxes arrive. My goal is to get what I have passable for level 1. The drop boxes had really weird cutouts for the belt. So I glued patches is, made my first batch of abs paste, and filled the holes. Thankfully, this area is mostly covered by the straps. Clean up coming later. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
Chopper
Nice. Just make sure you give the paste time to completely dry (24 hours or more), or else it can be tough to work with.
mrbill8128
After all of that abs paste work, guess what arrived today?! Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
mrbill8128
And BOOM! Just need to trim down the webbing for a good fit, and attach the drop box straps in the back. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk 2

Chopper
FYI, on the blaster those screws should be more flush with the plate.
mrbill8128
FYI, on the blaster those screws should be more flush with the plate. Once my build is done, I might have to sand those down and just install real screws.Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
mrbill8128
The older kit I have didn't come with the proper belt clips for the TD, so I picked some up from Amazon and attached them. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk Go for it. Outlet cover screws are pretty close, if you tap threads you should be all set.
mrbill8128
Please forgive the awkward, unflattering pictures. How does this look for belt/drop box placement?Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
BikerScout007
Looks good. Dropboxes are close to the belt like they should be. You might want to position them so they ride a little closer to your front than your back.
mrbill8128
Not part of this build, but I got a surprise in the mail today .Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
mrbill8128
Let's get this thing done! Measured, cut and ironed the material for the cummerbund. White thread is set and ready to go in the machine. Tomorrow, we sew!Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
mrbill8128
Are there any good tutorials on the cod piece? I can't seem to locate one.Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk

mrbill8128
How is this as far as the thickness of the cummerbund? It feels too puffy, but looks "similar" to the back of the actual costume.Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
Chopper
It doesn't look too thick to me. How much padding did you add?
mrbill8128
It doesn't look too thick to me. If you don't add enough batting, it won't look right when you stitch in the ribs
