  1. Looks like the V2 kit still uses mirrored T-bits: Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  2. The are just slightly concave, though it's hard to see. I'll post a picture. The other question is whether the somewhat 'sloppy' webbing cuts will be a problem. I can clean them up, but not make them thinner. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  3. I see what you're talking about after close inspection. If that's the only major problem, I would imagine that I could order just a new belt assembly. I just want to make sure that there isn't anything else. I'm happy to work with this kit if it's approvable. If not, I'll invest in a full V2 set. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  4. And a few more: Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  5. I finally picked up the armor kit from my 501st brother. His fiancee was going to build it, and did some work, but then decided against it (she's going a guard instead). It's a Studio Creations kit. These aren't finished, but they do appear to satisfy the CRL. I'll post a bunch of pics so you guys can weigh in and let me know if this kit will work for approval, once I finish it. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  6. We've had contact. He actually bought my TK kit when I sold it [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  7. Black pigskin suede from Tandy leather arrived today! Just in time to start the next stage of things. My old sewing machine died, so I used the opportunity to get a new heavy weight Singer machine, which arrives tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  8. Snout greeblies added. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  9. And a few more. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  10. First big setback, but nothing that can't be overcome. The lens is secure in place, so I decided to attach the front and back sections together. I bought the 3M joints, so I made the appropriate cutouts and put it all together. Sadly, as careful as I was, it didn't come together correctly. I remember that happening with my TK bucket too. So I ended up with 3 holes on one side and two on the other. Thankfully, they can't be seen! I'll probably glue some spare ABS pieces over the holes at some point. I'm still cleaning up the curve of the visor so that it raises all the way. As always, let me know your thoughts [emoji6]. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  11. I didn't think of that. On a cool setting to avoid warping the faceplate, correct? I'll try that if the E6000 fails. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  12. More progress. I mounted the visor to the faceplate. The replacement lens came it too. So I shaped it and attempted to mount it in with E6000. I'll see how it sets overnight. I only glued part of each side like the KS video recommended. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  13. Question: the KS kit does not come with a chin strap. Since the strap isn't in the CRL, can I add any kind of strap? Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  14. Someone yell at me if I'm posting too much! [emoji1787] I'm waiting for the 3M rivets and my replacement lens, so I decided to work on the other end of the bucket. I painted the inside black (for the ears) and attached the back and cap. These things aren't quite a wonky as the TK bucket, but they're still wonky. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  15. Jumpsuit (coveralls) and 2 inch webbing has arrived. Waiting on the suede now. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  16. Decided to purchase a flexible welder's piece like a lot of people seem to use. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  17. Ok, I hit my first temporary roadblock. I can't seem to cut the visor shape out. This thing is very thick -- much thicker than anything I had with my TK. I can't seem to cut through it with my dremel or my Lexan scissors. And I haven't found a good post on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  18. I see that the inlay for the snout recess has to be painted matte black -- no decals. So I painted the inlay and the respirator sections. Not perfect (the tape didn't seal as well as I wanted) but not terrible. Let me know your thoughts. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  19. I just re-read the CRL and missed that ear mesh is not acceptable. So I should remove mine, yes? Do most people paint the inside black? Also, can someone link me the product for the proper 3M covers? I'm assuming that these won't qualify as acceptable? Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  20. Decals all in place, and ear mesh added. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  21. And a few taped together: Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  22. Ok, I think i have the picture uploads working, so it's time to get started. As I mentioned in my introduction thread, I'm coming back from retirement and starting this new project. Currently, I am working on trimming all of the pieces of my KS bucket. Take a look so far and fire away with the feedback [emoji6]. Nothing is connected yet. I only taped the pieces to get a feel for it. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  23. Testing the photo link. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
