  3. Thank you my friend! Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  4. Trying on some parts. Should I trim the shoulders more so the chest or back sit higher? Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  5. I think I may have pulled it off, lol. Quite a few mistakes along the way, but I may have properly finished my flightsuit. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  6. Thank you very much! I appreciate the encouragement. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  7. Sewing is definitely not in my general skill set. This is the hardest cosplay task I've undertaken, and that includes building a full Batman Returns costume. The front is finally sewn down but not the back. I need to take a break as I'm feeling a bit defeated right now. Hopefully I can get this thing to pass muster. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  8. A little side diversion [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  9. Once this is done, I'll probably switch back to the armor. However, I have the pieces to start the vest also. I picked up heavy cotton material (more like sheets, not a t-shirt) and a Simplicity pattern for a raglan shirt. I'm going to try to use the pattern and the t-shirt instructions to make my vest. 10. Ok, I took the risk and opened the inside seam of the coveralls from ankle to ankle along the inseam. Then I pinned and sewed in the suede. So now I need to stitch the edges, which I'll probably do in the morning. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  11. Forgot the picture. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  12. Well, the suede parts are sewn together which is a miracle all by itself, lol. Sewing this to the coveralls will be the next challenge. I may use steam a seam to fix all of the seam points. Then I'll sew along the edges as required. I know some people pull the seams on the coveralls and sew those too, but that's just too much material for me and my machine to handle. 13. For the record, the riding patch is a royal pain in the you-know-what. Lots of trial and error. I THINK it's going to come together. My fear it that it HOLDS together once I'm trooping in it, lol! Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  14. Awesome work! Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  15. Suede patches all cut out Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  16. Lot's of new progress reports should be coming soon. I have many shipments arriving soon! In the meantime, my Crowprops boots were delivered today, courtesy of @Major Props. They are a bit snug, but I'll find a way to stretch them out. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  17. We all hit those points with these builds. Believe me, you are NOT alone. Sometimes you need to just step away for a couple of days and then come back refreshed. Don't rush yourself. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  18. That looks fantastic! Good luck! Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  19. Far too tired to work on anything tonight, without worrying about making mistakes. But at least I received a few packages in the mail today. My 1/2 inch and 1 inch black elastic came in (I already had the 2 inch), along with 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch white cotton webbing. My blaster kit arrived as well. I put in the online order for the mercerized white sateen material and cotton batting. That should ship soon. And on Friday, I'm expecting my Crowprops boots to arrive, courtesy of our colleague, Major Props. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  20. For the life of me, sometimes I need hands on before I can fully visualize something. I studied the patterns and pictures for the riding patches, but I needed more. So I chalked it out on an old pair of Michael Myers coveralls and just cut it out. Now I get it! So I'll pull the stitching and transfer these cleanly into the suede. And I plan to round off the top like in the CRL. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  21. Since I'm on a DIY kick, I'm looking into materials for the cumber bund and codpiece. The suggestion seems to be mercerized sateen cotton with 1/4 inch batting. Would these suffice? https://www.joann.com/sateen-solids/5970074.html https://www.joann.com/4oz-x-48in-x-45-yd-poly-by-the-yard/9442971.html
  22. I gotcha. So you're not a cadet now. My mistake my friend. Happy to help in any way! What kit do you have? Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  23. Believe me, I know how hard it can be to keep motivated with these builds as they can be very complex! I have the advantage of having done this before, lol. Let me know if I can help in any way as I work on this. Who is your advisor with Carida? Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  24. Still needs to be shorter, but I like the width here. I'll get better pics tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
  25. As far as the sizing on the butt flat, which version is better as far as the width? I cut a piece at 13" by 14". Once I decide on width, I can cut the length. Let me know. Sent from my SM-G990U2 using Tapatalk
