  1. Looks like weโ€˜re up to something. Hope to finish my build in the next few weeks and be a full member of the detachment. Really looking forward to Troop in my Scout. Cheers Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  2. Congrats Mickey! [emoji16] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  3. Got ya! I will tighten the vest a little bit more, this should bring up the sleeves on the right side. Is the front part of the armor ok? Or does it need to come up as well? Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  4. Ok, did a quick test fit today. The vest fits quiet well. The length of the sleeves is just a dressing issue. I think I can tighten the vest a little bit more this way the velcro on the back will get in the center as well and the sleeves fit better. I drew the lines were I want to cut for widening the neck opening. Any ideas how to bring up the shoulders a little bit more? Or do I have to lower the armor a little bit because you can see the top of the pouches, too? The other armor parts are not fixed with velcro and the strapping on the knees is missing. And sorry for not shaving... ๐Ÿ˜„
  5. Thanks Corey, I'll make some additional pictures tomorrow.
  6. Ok, did some more sewing and have almost finished the vest. Still need some cleaning up the seams and sewing a little cover for the collar. Overall it worked out pretty well for the first time. I might redo it with the experiences I've made during the process. Especially adding the sleeves was a little bit tricky and it is something I'd do more precisely the next time. One mayor experience I made is that I need to calm down while sewing and thinking about the steps twice... ๐Ÿ˜„ I started adding a sleeve to the front and stop because I thought I put them together wrong but than I thought... No it's fine, but it wasn't... ripped the seems and had to redo it... annoying... ๐Ÿ˜„ Did a littlte test fitting over the jumpsuit and it fits good, problem was that I was alone and couldn't close the velcro on the back properly. But the sleeves definately needs to be shortened a little bit and the neck opening needs to widened a little bit more. I'll do are test fitting with everything tomorrow to get the right meassurements for the sleeves, the neck opening and the velcro for the cod piece. I'll tape down the armour parts on the arms to add the velcro on the arms. Getting on the finishing line with the softparts.
  7. Did some sewing today. Started my first try with the vest. I bought myself templates for a raglan shirt, printed them drew the templates on some black cotton fabric. I'm not sure about the size of the vest. It should fit even with the jumpsuit but if it's to small I'll do it again. It's all for the learning curve... ๐Ÿ˜‰ I cut the parts for the arms twice to get the batting inside. Just ironed it a little but than I sew both parts together on the opening. But first I drew the lines for the stitching to get them nice and paralel later... Our GML is definately looking for paralel stitching... ๐Ÿ˜„ So better be prepared. Than I added one layer of batting. I thought that this should be enough for the groves to stand out. Sewing along the prepared lines was quite easy. The dificult part was aligning the arms with the front part of the shirt. But after some cursing and complaining it worked. Tomorrow I'll continue with the second arm and than I'm adding the back. I'm curious about the result and if it will fit... ๐Ÿ˜„

  9. Thank you@chopper your part in this shall not be forgotten! [emoji16][emoji12] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  10. Finally got rid of the buttons and the bag on the left side of leg. Sewed the straps by hand and stung my fingers countless times [emoji23] well but the result is olI guess. Got myself templates for a raglanshirt and gonna print them tomorrow. I first tried by drawing the shapes on butcher paper but wasnโ€™t really satisfied with the results. So I quit this way and got the templates. Softparts are almost finished, took longer than I wanted, but heyโ€ฆ [emoji28] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

  12. God sometimes it's terrible with understanding english with those technical terms... ๐Ÿ˜„ Like this?! Awesome Paintskills, right?! ๐Ÿ˜„
  13. Hello guys! Just a quick question regarding the vest. I wanted to modify a T-Shirt. This would have been fine for basic but as the long time goal is to go for Lancer I thought, that I could do a reglan style vest directly. So I got myself some black cotton fabric today. So the question is do the sleves with the paralel stitching have to go all way up to the collar or is it ok if the stop about an inch or two next to the collar? Cheers! ๐Ÿ˜„
  14. Iโ€˜ll do the straps myself. It was kind of hard to tell the tailor what I want with the riding patch so I skipped the straps part. But I think itโ€™s ok this way because I can align the straps better now and just have to rip a small part of the seam to get it inside. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  15. The helmet as wellโ€ฆ [emoji23] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  16. Thanks @Retrofire that's why I want to tighten the legs more. Leting the tailor do the patches was a good idea. If I'd done them I'd cursed all day long... ๐Ÿ˜
  17. Just a short update from the jumpsuit. The tailor did the suede riding patches. Next thing is to tighten the legs a little more, get rid of the small bag on the right side of the leg, drill out the buttons and get the hight for the thigh straps. I'll do a little dress up after tightening the legs to get the hight for the straps.
  18. Thanks@Chopper this fisd post is gold! Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  19. 3. Buckets on - Part 1 First of all a happy new year by a hopefully soon-to-be Pathfinder! The last weeks I couldn't really work on the scout because I got my booster vaccination into an infection and I was locked in bad for a whole week, a to do in the office, you all know the game... ๐Ÿ˜ But I decided to start with the helmet because it will take some time to get it finished and it's the part I'm most affraid of... ๐Ÿ˜› I got myself a RS helmet during their last special sale wave. They are roughly trimmed so the first step was to trim the two halves to fit together. I wish I had a belt sander because this would have made it much easier. First of all what do you guys say. Do I have to trimm this edge a little bit more? I cut ABS parts and glued the big part into the top of the dome and two small strips down the lines to glue the parts together. I haven't glued the halves together yet because I'll sand the one half a little bit more. I kept the cutted RS ABS parts to make some sludge. I never made sludge. Basically you put ABS into acetone, right? I guess there are no exacat measurements for the acetone. How should the consistency of the sludge be? And how should it be sanded down?
  20. Same here, but I added two magnets. You get the clips on amazon - just search for belt clips
  21. Thatโ€™s good news. I just realized that the RS helmet is more off white than the SC armorโ€ฆ [emoji16] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  22. Besides - there is a new janitor on the deathstar. Hopefully joining the ranks of the Rapid Reaction Cleanup Crew https://instagram.com/rapidreactioncleanupcrew?utm_medium=copy_link Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  23. Thanks @AradunFF and @Chopper for the feedback! It's not only building a costum it's learning some english phrases as well... Naval & Belly Button... ๐Ÿ˜ Well, than I guess it is sitting just right. I'm trying to start with the jumpsuit this weekend but I get my third vaccination on friday and I might be destroyed on saturday... we'll see... I think if the suit sits well it'll influence the whole look. So this is something I want to adress now and after that the vest. Bringing the chest armor up a little bit is no problem. I was unsure what is acceptable so I left the edges of the front and the back matching up almost without any gap but overlapping is no problem at all. Thanks again for all the tips and there will be more in the next few days!
  24. Did another quick test fitting without looking at alligment too much and now with the pictures I see some "problems". I don't have a vest yet. I definately need velcro for the upper and under arm armor, they keep slipping around terribly. The jumpsuit needs to be tailored (and the last logos need to be removed), lower the belt a little bit and maybe raise to pouches a bit. Hard to tell because of the quickness of the fitting. The cod is not sitting good, but especially because of the jumpsuit. Loosen the strapping at the knee armor. Giving more tention on the strapping of the chest armor. But I guess for proportional reasons it's ok.
  25. Well, I did as planned. Cutted some parts of scrap ABS and heated it a little bit to bend it to the shape of the shoulder bridge. Not really round but it worked. After that I glued down the zip tie anchor with e6000 and put velcro on both sides of the ABS part. After the glue dried I put zip tie trough the anchor under the bridge and stuck on another anchor facing toward the shoulder armor. To keep it in place it added another zip tie and cut both to length. I gave it a lot of spare length to adjust it later on. I guess I'll add another anchor at the top of the velcro part in the shoulder to keep it more snough. I'll put in on later this day and take some pictures.
