Cummberbund, Belt, & Hip boxes Attachment
Lonescout replied to Lonescout's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
...Once I get some $$ then I will have to get a set from MB and color it the correct way! -
This is what I did with the Cummberbund, Belt, & hip boxes! This is what worked for me. Especially at SWW the heat was blistering and a lot of costumes have mishaps. This item held up really well throughout the heat. Which was one of my main concerns. The Belt is one Mr. Bungle made. MB molded his with a lip to go under the Cummberbund and I had some concerns with this as I did not what the thread and the seams near the bottom of the cummberbund to rest on the belt...this pic is the bottom of the cummberbund. Look at the seams and imagine the cummberbund resting against the belt. The seams would show now matter how large or small the seam would be from the edge of the cunmmberbund. Nothing against MB as he is doing an Awesome Job. I just wanted a clean look with no seams. Disregard the snaps as they were removed! So I decided to cut off the Lip that was attached to the belt and added sticky velcro to the back of the Belt and added velcro to the cummberbund. Here are all three attached. Remember the ref pics show all vertical lines appear to go behind the belt, not stop when they meet the belt. The belt Buckle is as wide as the belt. I don't think it is wider/taller than the belt. I used Advanced Super Glue to attach the Buckle to the Belt. I have not tried any other adhesive since this work very well for me. Look at how I looped the leather and they are free moving. Again I used Advance Super Glue to attach the leather together. I have not tried Goop. Here is the end of the outside leather piece. I attached a small piece of velcro to the leather which is then attached to the velcro on the belt. You can also attach the velcro to the both sides of the leather for additional security! Leather is secure with the small piece of velcro in-between the Belt and CB. Here is the leather I purchase From Micheal's. It come with two different colors and the leather left on the card board is what I did not use. So you will have to purchase two packages. The TLF in my area did not even carry this item! And here they are all assembled! Also look closely at the leather connection to and from the boxes...they are D'rings! Ref Pic My Kashyyyk pic.

Lonescout replied to mrbungle's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
MB is doing a top-noch build...he is setting the standard...the armor, base paint, and cameo. Very Nice! It's great to have such talent on BSN! And two KST in the south east USA! -
some new thoughts on the cummerbund
Lonescout replied to Heatshock's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
I based my info on the original threads and the cumberbund I made was based on one which was being made at the time. In the original threads the garrison belt discussion was 2" and I could not find one so I used an 1' belt. I think two inch would be safe. I'm not sure if a 1.5" belt is made. Again, I was looking to dye the belt. On the other hand, now that we agree the cumberbund is grey your local Military supply store should have 2" grey garrison belts. I have seen them in the store in my area. -

Esprit Gloves(Espree) are for the Biker scouts not for the KST. Their are no real world gloves for the KST. Theirfore, this is one build out of several KST Build threads!

mb's KST undersuit and cumberbund.
Lonescout replied to mrbungle's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
That is weird! Maybe it was not dyed long enough! The cumberbund and pouches look great! What type of cloth is the tan strips because if it is not cotton it may not dye correctly or are you trying to get a weather look using the tan strips after the dye sets in. -

What type of thread did you used? Mine all dyed with the dye. I used grey leather suade for the riding pads. -
This is were their has to be a little lee/way. Example....look at all the 501st(blue clones) we can line them up and no two are the same unless that paint was done by the same person w/ the same paint. They all have different shades of Blue. So we will have similar issues. I do like the base paint color. We will have the same issues with the cameo job their will be differences...

That's what I'm talking about! I think it looks great!

Hey, no problem Tony....we are hear to help each other out...so build away!

An even better pic...todays the last day of SWW! HOT! So far the costume overall is holding up in this Heat! -
MB did you get this form home depot/lowes? I would like to experiment! Slapping both tones on a piece of styrene with a simple cameo pattern then green wash to seen which looks better...Remember the green wash is very light! Not as dark as my swap trooper!
