  1. Thank you everyone for the kind words. You may not know this, but I am visually impaired, so much so that I am legally blind. I’m one of three in the Legion. I lost a lot of visual acuity in 2012 after having uncontrolled and undiagnosed diabetes for quite some time. After another severe complication, I devoted myself to getting healthy. I also promised myself that I would never let my impairment keep me from living a full life. I wasn’t much into costumes for before then but I was led to it by a friend. Being able to troop and support charities and share my personal story has been wonderful. I have encountered several blind or visually impaired individuals at quite a number of events and I’ve been able to share my story with them. It’s strange how things happen to us for a reason. I try to do as much of the work as I can for building my costumes but sometimes I need to ask my TK Hubby for help. I figure it’s wise to have him use the hot knife and carve tiny areas into my boots. Heaven knows what those would have looked like or how many fingertips I might have lost. [emoji23] the help and support from him, as well as from this board, has kept me going to finish this project. Thank you all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thank you so much! I am honored to be added to the Lancer ranks. I don’t have any cool poses with the upgrades yet but I can share my favorite photo prior to upgrades. It’s from a troop where a very little boy kept pointing to me and running over to this panda. He finally took my hand and led me over to it and when I stood next to it, he squeezed with delight. I am forever known as Panda Scout. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Ugh... my husband wasn’t familiar with the new camera screen and didn’t realize my boots weren’t in the actual photo, even though they were visible on the camera screen (new iPhone 12). [emoji2362] I went from being excited to so bummed. I can retake them all if need be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you. I’ll get those photos by the end of the week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think (hope) it’s finally done. Pouches have been re-made to the correct size. I believe this now completes all requested updates/changes. Please let me know if I have missed anything (I’ve been checking everything off as I received feedback after posting each update and there’s nothing left on my list so I’m hoping mine matches yours [emoji4]). Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well I have an update but unfortunately it’s not the one I was hoping to post. Finally got the bund and cod back from being remade. The bund and cod are now the smooth cotton cloth, but she forgot to resize the pouches to 5” wide instead of the 6.5” that they were. They are 6” now, so one more inch to go. LOL At least the material on everything is correct now. Smooth white cotton bund Original duckcloth New cod in smooth cotton No more glue showing No more glue (but apparently a cat hair) So a few things checked off I think with just the pouches left to be fixed. I’m so close to getting this all done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My vendor assured me that she uses the smooth cotton fabric now. For the pouches, she was just going to resize the ones I have, which are made of the white canvas duckcloth. Is that ok? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. TD reassembled Excess glue on shoulder bridges cleaned up and covers replaced with cotton webbing after having to remove the originals to trim the back armor bridge. Original If I’m keeping track correctly, the only item left on the list is the replacement of the bund and cod with correct fabric and the correct size pouches. I’m sending thae old goods off tomorrow and am at the mercy of the USPS for getting it to the vendor and then back to me. In the meantime, I wait. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Correct forehead decal added and cleaned up the plastic hairs a bit better around the lens. (Our Christmas tree lights reflected in the lens are a bonus). Original Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. How’s the color now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks guys. I was able to lightly sand off most of the enamel gunship grey other than what is left in the crevices. Heading out tomorrow to get the new paint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ok so before I buy new paint, would this color be acceptable? My other option is flat primer All of the other options available are all gloss finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I did use gunship I wrote the wrong ‘ship’. I don’t know why it came out darker than that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Tacked down the vinyl on left boot as requested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. TD hose repainted a darker grey (battleship grey). Original Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Trimmed about a half inch off the back shoulder bridges. Is this better and is the back armor high enough now? Original Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. How does the trap look? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Went ahead and ordered new decals from the following shop https://etsy.me/3qNsoHp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. How did I not notice the shape of the decals before? LOL. I know I have extras that I think are for the tank but I’m sure my husband can work something up from those since we have to add the trap on the tank anyway. Appreciate all the feedback.
  21. Left box adjusted to be more parallel to belt. Better? Original Moved the attachment straps in as much as I could at the moment. Better or do they need to move even closer? (Moving them or lengthening of the straps causes the boxes to drop below the specified required measurement from the belt). Original. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Cleaned up the plastic hairs on the visor using a duster cloth (at least I think I got them all LOL) Worked on cleaning up the rough edges on the chest/back armor sides. How is it [emoji102] no? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. How is the color? Original Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Before trimming the rear shoulder bridges I wanted to get feedback on the temporary position. Is this clos to where it needs to be? Also, are the positions of the bicep and forearm pieces correct now? (Bells arent attached as they are being worked on). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Ok. Great news on the color. And not surprising, I have several containers of alcohol wipes. Lol Any feedback on the work on the visor or bells? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
