  1. It’s crazy reading through how use use velcro on everything. When I did my TK everyone on FISD is all about snaps, snaps here, snaps there, and I used velcro. I find it easier and more convenient especially with slight weight lose and gain or even just a reposition. There were some good tips in there, I appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Ok I always like seeing everyone’s tips and tricks, you never know when it’ll come in handy. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Ok this started out as seriously trying to mark the pic up to ask a question and it turned into a face. I’m assuming the velcro circled in red is for the bund but what’s the two in blue for? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Lol didn’t even realize the knee armor was upside down, thanks for pointing that out to me. I was looking at the belt boxes as well but wasn’t sure, I’ll work on adjusting them tomorrow/this weekend. I do not have the bund attached to the vest, should I use velcro? The issue with the bund is its a tad too small I think. It’s the 3rd one I’ve bought (long story) so I’m not getting a new one. Would the velcro help the sag? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. While I’m at it anything look like it’ll hold me up for approval? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. While putting my scout in for submission pics i broke a bracket on the detonator clips. Anyone have a good cheap fix for this? Looks like the ones I came with it are plastic, do most people use metal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have been working on these patches forever. Finally came up with a pattern that works. This is what they look like. Measurements will probably be different for everyone depending on leg size. These are like 18.5” at the widest, and 17.5” tall at the tip. I’ve got larger legs so these work. Basically I had my wife help and she used an old fabric and we kind of traced it out while it was on me then traced that onto the suede and cut it then hemmed the edges. Next I need to find a seamstress to sew it. My wife thinks it’s above her level and doesn’t want to mess it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. No surprise, looks great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. You’d look a lot cooler riding that on a motorbike, probably not too safe though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Agreed. Less is more. Mine is still being finished but I was already told my helmet is more weathered then the armor and to remove some on the helmet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This is an amazing thread. Your doing great and it’s going to be a real help to future scouts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. What did you use for reinforcements? I like that idea I was just looking at mine thinking the same thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Huge help thanks!
  15. Thank you. My next question would be the CRL states the patches stop above the knee armor but in the CRL pic it clearly shows the patches going past the knee armor. Do I stop before the armor? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’m looking for the same thing spyder My issue is I’m not sure where to place the patches. From the looks of it on pics the front starts about center leg (left to right) and the back is just barely creeping out. I’d hate to see something to find out it’s wrong. 17. Ok wasn’t sure if you were involved since you wrote “weâ€. I don’t want to bother him too much I assume he’s got a lot going on. I’ll wait a bit and see if he posts up. Thanks.
  18. Will those of us that ordered (being me) get notified of when and if it gets mailed? I normally run to my mailbox hoping it’s there just want to keep an eye out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think he had problems with some of the shirts being printed wrong. He temporarily closed it to make the necessary changes and get back on track. I’m not sure if he’ll reopen it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Looking into a new bund. Checked my boxes and they are 6x5x2 and I do see the difference in the cod pieces. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. While I haven’t trooped in my scout helmet I have two fans in my TK helmet and it helps a lot. I also find if I don’t cover my nose with the balaclava (think that’s the spelling) it helps as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Appreciate the help. Any direction on where to buy quality soft goods? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ok so I need some input. Basically from the previous conversation I feel I need to bring the shoulders higher. Other then that I need a new cummerbund, unless anyone know how to extend it and keep it looking good. And I still don’t get that patches so they aren’t there either. Lastly I didn’t have my balaclava on, have one just took some quick pics and didn’t want to get it. Feedback is appreciated. Added info, I’ve just been told my helmet is too weathered and I need to weather it down a bit. Any suggestions on how to take some weathering off? It was there when I bought it but apparently it’s acrylic paint and alcohol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’d say cold is your best bet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
