Guess that last comment did it. Got my approval today! TK-TB not sure if the Empire gives a pay raise with that jump, but it’s worth it to be able to move around again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking for Boots / complete soft parts merchant
Frank75139 replied to Qebenner's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Personally I got a bund through Tye O’Dell who did a great job on it. His email is td8966@yahoo.com Cheesewhoopy does as well but he’s stopping soon apparently. I’ve never purchased but his product looks amazing. Don’t think you can go wrong with any of those choices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It’s a little loose around the legs, the bund area is fairly tight. I actually made wraps to put around the ankles to help keep the legs down a bit and in place. The bund seemed to stay up when I took those pics but I haven’t tried it since then. If I get the basic approval I’ll have a chance to wear it for a few hours at a troop and go from there. I think my body style has something to do with it too. At about 260 the bund is kinda acting as a corset as well cause that’s where the weight is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went round and round trying to wrap my head around the patches only to come to the realization it’s just gotta look good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Man it’s like everything your thinking I went through a month ago. Those patches are so vague. The CRL states “Suede or faux suede thigh patches extend over the flight suit crotch and down the front finishing above the knee.” There is no set of measurements as to where they end, so personally I took it as whatever looks good compared to the CRL model. If you look at the front of the model it looks like they are slightly past middle leg and the back is slightly before middle leg. Basically I think if your wearing it and can see patches in the back however slight it is your good as long as it doesn’t go past the middle of the leg. Again I’m not Lancer and I’m waiting for basic approval but I know for a fact my GML has no issues with the patch placement. That may sound super lengthy and confusing, welcome to my mind lol. RS Prop Masters Scout Trooper armor
Frank75139 replied to jkno's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
It’s directly related to the original movie armor. So it’s about as exact as one can get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Resubmitted my pics this morning. Tightened the belt boxes and lifted the bund a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just trying to help out, it’s a lot easier with some help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went under it and just pinned them with the patches. Guess you could do either I just figured under would be less of a chance of coming undone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RS Prop Masters Scout Trooper armor

As long as the soft goods and everything fits your good to go. Just out of curiosity you said build time is not on your side, the other two you mentioned seems like they would require a build of some sorts weather it be sewing or armor where you planning on getting them premade? So I submitted the pics two weeks ago and got my reply today. In the mean time I did fix the detonator, thanks Chopper, got the clips you recommended in October that I completely skipped over and was able to take the end caps off with no damage at all so I’m glad that’s done properly. Nothing was said about the flap so I’m assuming it’s good. I was told I had to fix the rear bund from sagging, and tighten up the hip box webbing. I have already done the velcro trick to the flax vest prior to these pics, any other ideas to keep the bund from coming down a bit at the top and staying under the armor? The bund is tight so it’s not like it’s loose on me. As for the hip boxes I thought they were supposed to be looser, guess I was wrong that should be an easy fix. Other then that is there an easy to keep the knee armor from falling down? I wore mine armor to a local Halloween function, everyone loved it but I noticed all the armor was kinda sliding a bit. We have a toy drive coming up 12/1 and I’d really like to get this done so I can finally troop in it. Front Back Halloween function with my son Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I used my knee armor as a guide. If you have that made then thro it on. Make the patches come to around the top of that and you should be good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a TK the Scout is nothing compared to what you’ve done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m no Lancer but it’s looking good. I just got my patches done and it was the last thing I did cause it’s so vague in my opinion. I pinned my patches on then emailed pics with the suit on to my GML to see what he thought about it. Obviously he has the final say on what gets approved so I’d recommend reaching out to yours as well. It helped calm some fears before I went and had it all sewn on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Get some cheap scrap fabric and you can cut patches out of that and pin them on to see how they look. Duct tape just seems hard to work with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Looking good. Is one patch longer then the other or is that due to the angle of the pic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great idea using scrap for the test pattern. It took me a few cuts with some scrap material to get it down pat. And don’t forget to hold on to those in case you need to make a new suit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you, think I have an idea similar so if it doesn’t work I might be hitting you up for that pool tubing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How do you attach the clips to the detonator. The ones I got were plastic and tie wrapped around the pipe. They broke so I put metal ones on and they slip around and I’m afraid I’m going to lose them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
