Hey Sean Great to see you here with plans for a new build! Don’t mind me, I’m only here for the food [emoji4] Cheers Rudi

Magnificent work! Did you need to seal the oils at all once you’d got the desired effect? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As mentioned over at STFam, fantastic work mate!

Hi Chris Great progress. Question about the 3D resin. I note you say you’re applying it over wood filler. I’ve only applied it directly to the print. Have you noticed any adherence or finishing issues? I’m experimenting with 3d resin as a finishing alternative too, so always interested to hear others’ experiences. I haven’t tried this one myself, but I hear baby powder (talcum powder) mixed with the resin makes for a great filler [emoji2373] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks, Steve. I like experimenting with different products. Will try pick some of these out and give them a go [emoji4]

Question going back to an earlier post… The Molotow masking markers: how do they compare to a brush on liquid mask like Humbrol? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Chris Good to see you back at it. Curious what you mean by “pauldrons” in your first post. Are you referring to the hand armour? Which, by the way, looks like a great start. Once you weather it up with the appropriate paints it’ll come up a treat. The chipping and wear is subtle - I like it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great selection of kit [emoji1303] The 3D Props blasters are really nice. Eelco puts a lot of effort into research. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Whats the most up to date STL files for the Shoretrooper?
Tarok replied to conner's topic in Shoretrooper Armor/Helmet
Paul’s files are amazing. Worth mentioning that it’s not a complete set of armour though. There are a few parts which need to be bought from him. If you’re going for most accurate though, the Nico Henderson helmet is the way to go - I understand you’ve already printed a SF. -
Nice to see you here, Christina. Been following your build over on ST Fam

BikerScout007's Shoretrooper Officer Build!

Nice! I’m a fairly new Ender 3 user. Are you running it stock to print PETG? What setting to you print to? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
11B30B4 Shoretrooper WIP (Mr. Paul's 3D Print Files)
Tarok replied to 11b30b4's topic in Shoretrooper WIP
Except this is the Nico Henderson 3D printed helmet. There are two versions of the front face, one with the eye bags and one without. The latter is more accurate as the eye bags are supposed to be part of the lens. I may be wrong, but it appears from the orientation of the photos that Jeff has printed the front face without eye bags, which leaves him with the options of either shaping the lens himself, or buying one from Mr Paul. Worth noting though that the lens has a slight bubble shape to it too, it's not flat like an OT TK, so perhaps one might consider the shape a bit more complex. A heat gun is definitely required in this case. Be that as it may, I'm sure Jeff has the situation in hand @11b30b4, FWIW I use plastic wood filler on my prints too. Once it hardens it's tough as nails. I've been watching a few videos about the use of UV resin to coat FDM prints. Looks interesting, so I may give that a go soon. -

The Nico helmet comes with a buck for the lenses, so Jeff will need to heat and shape any lense material first. I'm guessing that's where the apprehension lies. -
I'm fairly certain the Sean Fields files are free too

Hi Scott Welcome to Pathfinders. I saw your post over on Shoretrooper Fam. Good luck with your build. Be sure to reach out to your local garrison (Redback Garrison in QLD) if you haven’t done so already. There may be someone local who can do the soft parts for you. Cheers

Have a look for Chris the Prop Guy on FB. He’s a Knightfall Garrison (Victoria, AU), and is finalising his files. He should be ready to produce soon.

You’re about the same height and weight as me. I don’t have a scout costume, I’ve got a TK and Officer, and am working on a Shoretrooper. Trust me, kids don’t really care. They just see a Star Wars character. If it really bothers you, and losing girth is a challenge (it sure as eggs is for me), a male corset or girdle might be an option.

Hey mate Have a look on Shoretrooper Fam for Frank Fraga’s Mr Pauls build photos. I think it was this week he did the shoulders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Fantastic cost breakdown [emoji4] Does the metal shoulder strap to armour connector come with the strap and buckle set? If not you may want to factor that in too. Also, don’t forget about the foam which sits under the chest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Warmer weather and school holidays off meant a few more hours at the bench than usual. Managed to get some primer filler onto the bucket. Really highlighted how much sanding I need to do. Managed to score a Sheev’s Emporium shirt and pair of Steven Walker pants from someone on ST Fam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let’s just caveat this thread with the following: I’m not known for lightning fast costume builds. My TK took almost 2 years to complete. Lol! But... I thought I’d kick it nonetheless. Instead of posting stuff I don’t have yet, I’ll just post what I have [emoji4] I’ll be presenting this as a ST Captain, keeping it consistent with my IO staff officer uniform. I also really love the colour scheme. Whilst I know it was inspired by the German Airforce in Northern Africa, it reminds me of many of the Commonwealth camo schemes of the same period. Helmet: SFv2. Printed at 105% by TDK Props. Shirt: sheev’s Emporium Pants: Steven Walker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
