  1. I just noticed the sixth rib on another photo of the newly produced RS Props bunds as well. Ya should let RS Props know so they don't keep making them with 6 instead of 5.
  2. I also have an elastic strap at my holster to keep it help tight to my leg just as 762s has shown. It works very well.
  3. I have an SC kit and found it to be very easy to work with. I like how thick the ABS is, it's sturdy. I also have an Altmann helmet and it pairs up well with the SC armor.
  4. Congrats trooper!!
  5. Congrats scout!!!
  6. Personally, If you have a Tandy store local to you, I'd go there. We have one here in Tampa and they have been very helpful in picking out the right materials for various costumes. You'll also know exactly what you are getting. If it's real leather/suede, it'll vary in size, shape and may even have some holes. I went with suede pigskin for the riding patches/flap.
  7. If you decide to go the Red-Kap undersuit route, you can always take them in where needed. I bought one that fit me perfectly in my torso and height. Then we (mostly my wife) seam ripped the legs and arms completely. I put the suit on inside out, she pinned it all the way down the legs and arms, then sewed it back up. This way it's a more form fitting suit for me. It also made it easier to sew on the riding patches. Just a thought.
  8. I will never understand how so many "amateur" prop makers can deliver quality products and on time, but a LFL licensed shop with help from the mouse cannot. I own some of Anovos' helmets and they are beautiful, but not worth the hassle or run around of their pre-order process. I had hoped they would produce the helmets first, then sell them as in stock. I would buy it in a heart beat if that was the case. They had the patrol helmet a while back at a con on display. I honestly was hoping they would have them done and on hand in Chicago.
  9. I like it! Thanks Mickey!
  10. I have a feeling it would be easier to move the bunker outside than to sneak you in. lol
  11. It really does make sense to do the photo sometime after the legion and LOTL photos. Would it be too difficult for us to try to get inside to where the Endor bunker is like in Orlando? And I love the idea of some sort of get together for our detachment! You can count me in.
  12. Chopper, how do you plan on replacing the sewn in grey with the rubber greeb? I can't think of anything that isn't just gluing it on and praying it stays put.
  13. Hey there. I certainly remember that overwhelming feeling when I first built my shoretrooper. There are a few different materials that you'll find for shoretrooper kits. ABS plastic, fiberglass/resin casts, or 3d printed material. ABS is going to be the most lightweight and flexible. 3d printing can be pretty neat bc you can usually scale the prints to your build. The fiberglass and resin kits are heavy and a pain in the butt to modify. My kit was fiberglass, and while I love the way it feels, it's heavy for long troops. It was also tough to work on. Personally if I could do it all over again, I would go the ABS route. I see your location is in West Palm? That's Florida Garrison / Everglades Squad territory! Reach out to them and get on the FL501st boards. One big mistake I made when building my armor was not reaching out to my local squad for some help. I wish I did, it would have saved on a few headaches. The Everglades squad leader, Shaina, has done a Shoretrooper build and I am sure she would be happy to help or maybe they have an armor party sometime soon? Shaina goes by @inkydinki on the forums.
  14. I can confirm that the WW biker and kashy gloves are the exact same length and proportions.
  15. Much deserved! Congrats Mickey!
  16. Congrats trooper!
  17. That's genius.
  18. I had the same problem with the DVH blaster and the SC holster. I added a magnet just as Digger did. It helps keep the blaster in place but I really want to add the second magnet in. I've had the blaster fall out a couple of times, thankfully it's rubber.
  19. The timing could not be any more perfect as I am printing this right now.
  20. The helmet was released to those that backed his kickstarter. It was a stretch goal reward. I have the files downloaded, I just haven't had the chance to print the helmet just yet. It's worth a shot checking with Sean if the files may be released publicly or if he is trying to sell them via his etsy store.
  21. Congrats!! Looking good!
  22. This is huge and very helpful. When I was building my scout to lancer spec, I spent more time looking at previous lancer applications than anything else. I went back through the last two years, studying pictures and reading feedback they each received. There’s so much to learn there. Even just for the pictures themselves. Every application has dozens of detailed pictures that can lend a lot of insight to how things are put together, sized and strapped. I think anyone building a biker scout should take a venture through the lancer applications. Even if that’s not your goal, it will still help in your build.
