On the back I left this tab so I can heat it up and bend it over. Then cut the slot for the strap. I want to trim the tank so there are tabs on the top and sides to heat up and bend over. That would give me me an edge to glue to the back piece and help add strength I think. The black line is where I think I can create a tab.

Well I can’t deny that I haven’t been checking my email pretty much every 30 minutes all weekend long! -
Great notes. Thank you! Yeah first rule: save all your scraps!

Working on chest piece. Where might I want to reenforce? Thinking mainly where the straps go. Also I’ve seen that some cut a piece out right in front - a notch - center of the chest along the bottom. This is more accurate correct and anyone have a good photo? How much of this bottom lip should I keep on the front? I’m thinking to keep all of it. Looks clean. Any suggestions so far?

First great notes and much appreciated. I’m shooting for Lancer so this helps. BICEP ARMOR: bicep and forearm armor should make a straight line down the arm correct? Inline with shoulder? VEST FIT: will have to get it tailored a bit more. I had the same thought so thanks for confirming. BUND: I didn’t even notice that in back. I have it meeting the belt top in the front but have enough to move it down just a bit so there is no black showing. -
Haven’t glued these on yet but looking good.

Has anyone used a small knee pad to glue your knee armor to? Just wondering about adding any padding to the knee armor.
-
Absolutely. I was cleaning up and playing with my current kit which was already a little weathered. I sprayed a few quick blasts on one of my knees and got what I thought was a cool look. Seems like it got dirty and I tried to whip it off. I can see the key is to not over think and just do. The spray can is with me. I am one with the spray can. 😜

Here are some final submission photos I took. Posting here for comments and suggestions. Thanks. I can see cod was a little too tight I think.

Thanks to a lot of help from you!

Also just wanted to say Chris’s boots are great! Picked them up on Friday so I could submit with my current armor but thought I’d mention it here.

Did the belt and kneecaps today. Any good posts on weathering I should look at? When I first started I didn’t think I’d like the weathering but realize it is more film accurate and done right can look really wicked!

Yeah I have both straps as required. Good notes and I am submitting for sure.! Hoping to get out on a troop ASAP. • Future Scout Currently Not Living Anywhere Near Endor

I sure will! And thanks to the skills of one mr. Ruiz I have a wonderful pair of boots and finished soft parts.

How strict are they on the cummerbund lining up in back? Mine when lined up is just a little tweaked to the side. • Future Scout Currently Not Living Anywhere Near Endor

Trimmed the top and bottom lip of the belt. Feel like it’s more representative of an actual belt. I’m going to try to heat it up and make it a bit more rounded rather than the hard bend it has now. What about adding in faint lines of a grey to make it seem even more realistic? Give it the impression of being an actual pouch. Trying to go a little extra and give it a more movie realistic vibe or is that too much?
-
I was thinking same on belt. And thanks for the graphic on trimming. I actually got the belt and suit 2nd hand so it came this way but I’m really tryin to get it clean and lancer status. So moving the boxes and trimming up that stuff should be easy.

Inland Empire Armory a member here? Anyone have any of their stuff? https://www.instagram.com/inlandempirearmory

Got some tailoring done to suit and vest. Anything glaringly stand out with my armor and fit yet? Pick up bund and boots Friday to complete gear!! Almost there. THANKS! * COD NOT ATTACHED OR FINAL PIECE

On my armor as many do the front right chest indentation is too wide. Just wanted to confirm it should be approx 1 3/4 inches wide? Figure I might try to fill in part of this area closer to the side, sand and repaint so it’s closer to what it should be. • Future Scout Currently Not Living Anywhere Near Endor

Well the SC armor I have isnthucker than the WTF and this is exactly what I thought I might do. I’ll surely be adding the Velcro to the suit to keep everything in place.

You have some pics or a thread? Compare notes on techniques would be good. • Future Scout Currently Not Living Anywhere Near Endor
