There has been a lot of debate about this helmet. Admittedly, I was hesitant to purchase a helmet that was shrouded in controversy; but, when the opportunity presented itself to pick one up for cheaper than the original price, I couldn't pass it up. With that being said, here goes my review. I arrived home from work today to see a large EFX box waiting for me. Nothing feels better after a long day than a big brown box greeting you on the front porch. I immeditaly got to work, carefully opening it up, putting the stand together, and snapping some photos. The front It's been noted before the jawline flares out a bit more than the originals, but I will say looking at this helmet in person it's not all that bad. It's only slightly more flared than RS. Definitely noticeable, but not that bad. The sides I saw in a lot of other reviews people complained about the face shield not closing all the way. As you can see here, it closes and aligns fairly well. The bottom sticks out about 1/4", which I believe is due to the lining on the face shield. A small part of me is tempted to rip it out and see, but I don't think I can bring myself to do it. The back I can't find anything to be upset with here. Having previously owned a Studio Creations helmet, the shape of the EFX is much more accurate. Underneath and Inside The top To me this is the only issue with the helmet. The gap is quite apparent, however it's only something that is visible looking at it from this angle. It's unfortunate they couldn't tighten that gap up but I have to say I'm not bothered by it. The helmet does have some weight to it and pulls forward a bit when on the head. This can pose issues when it comes to trooping , but I tested with some extra padding and it seemed to resolve the issue. All in all this is a beautiful helmet. Now, had I waited 4+ years for it would I be saying the same thing? Probably not. But having had the opportunity to pick it up for cheaper than a Lonewolf or RS, I jumped on it. I hope these pictures give a realistic view of the helmet and can shed some light on this controversial piece.

One thing that I think would be good for level 1 is to put that the cummerbund should not go below the belt. And also, there should not be massive gap between the pouches and the belt. I’ll try not to be too judgemental, but I’ve seen some very “interesting” decisions made when people make there cummerbunds. In a lot of ways it’s one of the make or break pieces of the costume, so if that could be as specific as possible for level 1, hopefully that will alleviate those interesting choices.

Looking forward to it

I’d love to see them too!

Thanks! I did not. However, I was looking at photos of it on his Facebook page, and it looks awesome. I don’t think he has released it quite yet. I think he did a small b-grade run a little while back.

I recently purchased a set of moncal armor to replace my previous armor and wanted to share my progress on the build. I made all new softparts (Cummerbund, pouches, flight suit) and tea stained the pouches. Why does my helmet look different than other scouts? 😂 I purchased a new helmet as well, so I am waiting for that to come in. Should be here tomorrow. I tried to add some extra details this time around. Like the elastic on the back hump. This was just for fun. It's all about those details! I also sewed the riding patches on today. And that's all I've got so far.

I couldn’t agree with this more. I’m happy to make boots for people, but I also encourage everyone to give it a try as well. It’s a really fun and rewarding experience.

Pouch Dimensions and Patterns
cheesewhoopy replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
This is pretty much exactly what the sizes on my pouches for cummerbunds are; I’m happy to see this post. The pouches are a key element to this costume, and if they are either too large or too small, it can really kill the overall look. -
Try pulling you're belt down a bit, or try pulling the chest and bund up. You can see the bund poking out from the bottom of the belt, which you'd want to avoid. Also, ideally the pouches should rest atop the belt. Just some slight adjustments; you're looking good 😊

It's an awesome feeling when that box arrived. It's only rivaled by the first time you put all the completed stuff on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking good! Hard to tell without armor, but you will likely need to pull the bund up a bit to sit right with the chest. And you can loosen the strap on the cod piece a bit so it's not pulling as much. Can't wait to see you all geared up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unless the helmet has been updated, it's huge. My friend had it and we used to joke that he looked like a bobblehead lol he since replaced it with an RS helmet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The boots should break in pretty well. Ive been wearing mine for over a year right now and they're super comfy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TB-56072 Pre-Screening Lancer Photo Album
cheesewhoopy replied to RebelTB-72's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
I think 762s covered pretty much all of it. You have a really nice clean build overall. Just the cummerbund and cod piece need some reworking. The bottom of the cod piece looks a little too wide and I'd suggest making the arc stitch a little more arked. For the cummerbund I would suggest reworking or remaking it to be about 8" in height and making those stitch lines 1" as 762s pointed out. Yours look to be about an 1.25"-1.5". Nice job overall and good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I've seen these boots in person, and they are really nice. They're made of leather and have an extremely durable construction. However, they are not Lancer from the get go. You would need to paint the soles to be one consistent color and you would need to add the proper cuts in the sole. I modded these boots to be Lancer for a friend and the sole is pretty tough to cut into, not impossible but tough. In my opinion it's not worth the price when there are several other boot makers who make them Lancer ready for cheaper. And I'm not saying that just because I make boots lol there's a few others who make them as well. Just helping you save some cash and aggravation if Lancer is what you want. That's mine! lol I thought that photo looked familiar. But yeah that's how I did mine and it's worked really well. The nice thing is I can take the tank off to fit everything in my bin nicely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also, your build is coming alone great! Love the attention to detail, you're gonna be looking sharp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I used a light grey Ethernet cable for my wire wrapped TD. I think it's a little different than what others have used, but it didn't need to be painted which was a huge plus in my book and it gives the over all appearance. It's wrapped around some pvc pipe I slightly curved. I've never had an issue with it being too heavy. It always stays in place pretty well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TB Helmet Audio / Cooling
cheesewhoopy replied to NCwerewolf's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Honestly, I don't think fans are necessary in the scout helmet. You have a lot of airflow from the opening and the ear cut outs that keeps it pretty nice in there. I'd save the space and go with just the audio system. -
Looking good! I posted on our garrison forum in your build thread as well. What size are your pouches? Everything looks great, but the pouches appear a little small. I usually recommend 5.5x5.5 - 6x6 inches for them. Are yours in that ball park? You also look tall so that could be part of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
