  1. Here's is today's progress: As I said before it needs a ton of work still but I'm not too worried about imperfections because I won't be using this for troops ( because I'm under age) and when I turn 18 and apply, I want to, by then, mod a better Altmann's Helmet. Today will be the last day for 2wks I will be able to work on this helmet due to a vacation i am taking (first one in 10yrs), so don't expect updates for at least that amount of time:) Thanks, Alex Sent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk
  2. Sadly every time I tried to epoxy the sides together on the inside they never held and always broke apart:(.. I can deal with any small imperfections though. The one I want to use for troops would be the Altmann Helmet though so I'm not worried too much:) Alex Sent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk
  3. Oh and for those of you who notice that the lined engraved on the vent/ respirator deal above where the airator used to be, that was just where I deepened the lines with my cutting wheel on the dremel:) Alex Sent from my KYOCERA-E6560 using Tapatalk
  4. So almost 20 years ago in 1997 my dad purchased a helmet from Don Post collectors. Here it is: Let's be honest here.... Its pretty awful and needs a ton of work. So here I begin my work on this horrid helmet and am ready to attempt to turn it over to 501st standards... First I countersunk 2 holes among the lower section of the visor into the hidden inner lip to the "cheek" (?) of the faceplate. And put a rivet through the countersunk hole and will bondo that later. Next I removed the ugly visor to be replaced later. Then I later cut off the airator and cut holes in the ear pieces and taped and glues black mesh materiel into the ear holes/vents... This was all done in less than an hour and I will do my best to do more tonight. Thanks, Alex
  5. Fastest easiest method, for my dads hyperfirm pistol was he took a small strip of Velcro and applied the fuzzy side in the holster and THEN painted the holster with spraypaint to color the Velcro white too. Then he added the rough side of the Velcro strip right under the gun muzzle so its basically invisible. Its virtually in noticeable, and its held up for going on 11 years with NO problems. 6. And I made my straps 1.5" wide by 4" long. Just plain white elastic straps for me.
