  1. Sweet, thank you for the tips on lining up the armor! As for the black showing on the helmet it is the velcro. I got some white velcro to replace that and ill just have to make sure the faceplate is fully closed when i take final pics.
  2. So I got to take some test pictures yesterday. Here are some things I notice off the bat: 1) I know that the chin cup is showing that's because my wife adjusted the chin cup when it slipped off and put it fully underneath my chin instead of simply on it. I'm not worried because it's just a test photo. 2) I still have the "combat camel toe". Adding a plastic strip to fix this. 3) the shoulder armor needs to be rotated back some. Please continue to give constructive criticism so that I may make as many adjustments as possible today. This will include velcro on the flight suit after I find the correct placement for everything. Thanks Guys/Gals!
  3. Get prepared for a load of images to drop! After months of waiting I have finally received my boots from Gio! These things are absolutely amazing quality and I could not be happier with them! After riveting the holster on and throwing a little weathering down I will make sure to post plenty of pictures now that I am nearing completion on this finally!
  4. I thought as much. We use padding in our flight helmets at work and my head doesnt hurt nearly as bad with that as it did when i use to wear construction helmet liners in my old prop helmets. Thanks for the input!
  5. Got some time last night and threw in the lens. Now all that's left for the helmet is hinge bolt (covers), and the interior. Debating between the construction helmet head brace or helmet padding.
  6. Been a while since my last update, but i recieved a new helmet kit from @christhepropguy and pieced that together over the last two weeks when i had time. Still have to install the lense, and hing bolts to cover the rivets. Also attached the tank topper greeblie this weekend and threw that on the back armor.
  7. What is the general consensus on how to get rid of the "Combat Camel Toe"? Thats one thing I am struggling with fixing.
  8. So im awful about posting updates, but I finished the helmet kit and wasnt happy with the wider face so i ordered one from Christhepropguy here on the forums. I like the shape better. Hopefully that will be in the mail in the next month or so. My WTF armor is 85% pieced together. Waiting on a tank topper replacement before attaching the back tank (the one I recieved with my kit was a really poor cast). Finished the vest and codpiece today. These arent the best images, but I will post better ones tomorrow with outdoor lighting.
  9. Took some material off the mudflap. I definitely feel like this hits home alot more.
  10. Spent the last day or two sewing on the suede patches and the thigh straps. Does the buttflap look slightly too wide? I am 5'9" and went with 13.25" wide and 12.25" tall.
  11. Ironed out the pouches and bund after washing it all together. Threw in the foam inserts. What does everyone use for the pouches? I like the slightly rounded look, but i would love to have some type of storage space for my wallet/pens/keys and other small things.
  12. Im washing it right now and will iron it out and post more pictures later
  13. Had me there for a minute, i had to go check the CRL again myself haha. Thank you
  14. Any thoughts on the bund? Might redo it since i feel like there isnt enough padding. Maybe one more layer of batting this time? Curious on what others think
  15. Spent the last few days off and on after work sewing up a cummberbund and pouches. Settled on 8.75" tall for the bund itself. Used clean white cotton for the bund and white duckcloth for the pouches with foam inserts.
  16. Its been a long time coming, and ive been looking forward to this build for years. A month ago i pulled the trigger and purchased a set of WTF armor so hopefully that will be here in the next month or so. Got my Wampa Wear gloves in the mail yesterday. I have a modified flightsuit that needs the suede sewn on. I will post updates here as often as possible with pictures, and as always, any help is appreciated. Thanks guys! 17. @ScaryGuythanks for the info!
  18. The build has slowed due to some health and family issues.. but it is still going. When I was almost done modeling the first version I saw some smaller problem areas that need further work done to make everything just right.
  19. Just posted up the bicep greeblies and the tank toppers in the vendor sale section.
  20. All boxes and both buckles would be solid cast. This means that to add the straps for the drop pouches you would drill holes through buckle front. It would look the same as the abs buckles from the outside, but would obviously have an extra bit of strength and durability. Like the bicep greeblie, the lines will be engraved with flat rectangular walls to come out neater than lines that are engraved by hands.
  21. Hey folks, Over the past one or two weeks I have been working on my bucks/masters for my rebels biker scout armor. The bucks I have built and am currently building are built with the intention of later vacuuforming them to create plastic armor. The tank topper and bicep greeblies will be cast in resin or a hard rubber later to insure the detail presented by those pieces is captured to the fullest extent. All of the bucks are crafted from wood and styrene sheets, the spot-filled with bondo, sanded, primed, and gloss coated. The bicep greeblie: Tank topper: Belt boxes and buckles: My main question to those purchasing kits for this version of the biker scout is this: would it be better to make these belt boxes in cast resin, or vacuuformed plastic? I ask because the resin boxes and buckled could be placed on the belt with snaps, but will be slightly heavier, and the vac-formed boxes will be lighter but not as sturdy.
  22. Don’t forget the CRL will most likely change over time as more details/preferences are found. Mold lines will be on my armor, but I really like the idea of painting the details instead of blank grooves. I think the grey holds truer to what is seen on screen
  23. Was just wondering this as well.. I would figure the mould lines should be painted grey or grey pinstripe decals should be layed in the grooves to simulate paint.
  24. Just out of curiosity, would we not use black thread to sew in the lines on the cummerbund? It appears in the show that the lines are black, but of course that could be their way of simulating the shading in the lines on the bund. Just wondering?
  25. Huge thanks to Theo for helping me get these measurements right! Pics to follow, as the holster buck is built and the blaster model is being finished!
