  1. Congratulations, you look amazing
  2. Congratulations brotha
  3. One of the best parts of the scout is that you have such great ability to hear the things around you and Interact with kids better, I had fans in my first scout but once you add them by the ear vents then it makes it hard to hear. I don’t have any fans in my new kit and I honestly haven’t had to. I have the UKSwrath audio system in my helmet which doesn’t allow much space for anything else, but to be honest, you don’t need the fans unless you are trooping mid summer and at that point there is nothing that will stop you from sweating bullets. Hope this helps
  4. That is awesome man, looks great
  5. Same here, I really want to see this bad boy though
  6. I have been using the UKswrathspecialty mic and it is amazing because everything stays contained in the helmet and the sound comes from the helmet as well. https://www.etsy.com/listing/741836481/biker-scout-helmet-audio-system?ref=shop_home_active_26&frs=1&crt=1&sts=1
  7. Congratulations, thanks for everything and I’m looking forward to another awesome year.
  8. Merry Christmas everyone, And may the force be with you.
  9. Don’t mind my horrible stitching. My machine acts up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Yeah I will a bit later when I’m home from work, as long as I don’t forget
  11. Yeah I totally understand that, thanks for reviewing it though. Yeah it is black spray paint. I actually like the weathering on it and wouldn’t mind keeping it as is but also I can purchase a second cummerbund and weather it slightly different. It’s not a huge cost and I could squeeze it in. I want a set with off white pouches anyways so this gives me the option.

  13. No worries, I totally understand that. I’m sure that if it looks like too much weathering in these photos then it is probably too much since these photos already look light compared to it up close. I will send a few through though just to get an idea from you guys how much I would have to reduce it.
  14. Thanks man I appreciate that. I totally understand that.
  15. I am the taller trooper on the left of most of these pictures with the RS helmet. And I know, I know, I should have adjusted a few things before I trooper specifically my crotch. Please let me know what you think about the soft goods weathering as previously asked in my post above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. What’s up everyone, I hope all is well. Sorry for how long it had taken me to do any kind of update. I have done a few troops this year and have had a chance to get comfortable with the kit. Though I love the weathering, I have noticed that it all blends with most lighting which makes me want to clean it up a bit and possibly go for that lancer status. I still want it to be pretty weathered but want to ask you guys what you think about the soft goods. Would the weathering on the soft goods be approvable? I ask this because it won’t take much work to clean up the hard armor but the soft goods will be a challenge. I will post a couple pics of the soft goods in daylight and please let me know what you think.
  17. Thanks man, I’m going to go back through my kit and lighten up the weathering in certain spots. Now that I have looked at it a few times, I can see areas I don’t like cause it’s too dark so maybe after that it will be light enough for lancer. Either way I’m pumped to get this bad boy done
  18. It’s official, I am once again an 501st ROTJ scout trooper. It feels great. I am going to go back through my kit and lighten up some of the weathering in the next week or so.
  19. Thanks brother, that put a smile in my face. I really had a balance game in my head of doing a more screen accurate kit which was my goal all along, or build something that makes kids ask questions and wonder where I have been. The majority of the 501st (Star Wars) costumes I have made in the past have been weathered and they always get more curious questions from kids and adults alike. I am still craving that classic ROTJ look though so who knows in a couple months, lol. P.S.-your lancer submission photos where all saved to an album on my phone and I used them as reference for my build as well as my final suit up for my submission photos so thank you for your extremely thorough and educational WIP. It wa a greatly appreciated.
  20. Thanks brother, I really appreciate it and all the help you have given me over the last few months. I completely agree with everything you said and I’m actually really curious to see how much weathering I could get away with for lancer, though I almost think it’s blasphemy to say that because I think lancer should be as close to screen accurate as possible and unless I’m willing to do that then I would only submit for lancer for fun, just to see how close I can get. I’m going to just remove the weathering if I seriously submit for lancer.
  21. So I finished up my build for basic approval and submitted. I was originally planning on submitting for Lancer but I’m not sure if I can now with my weathering. Its a bit on the heavy side, I know not everyone is into the weathered look, but I love how lived in it makes the costume. I was originally planning on going more screen accurate with the weathering but went this rout Instead. I built everything else to lancer spec so I feel very accomplished, though I need to adjust some of the fitment in these pics so that they look better since these were meant for basic approval and I wasn’t picking it apart. The one thing I’m a little iffy on are my pouches, they look small. All in all I’m extremely happy with it but please give me whatever constructive criticism you have or any pointers on what I can improve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. Lol, that’s the truth, my old TK used to be a sauna for my head, I used to have images in my head of me taking off my bucket and my head looking like one of those witch doctors shrunken heads. Thanks for the tips
  23. I also Installed the UKS wrath’s mic in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  24. Alrighty, so I got my RS Bucket in finally, it looks great. I got a good deal of electronics to fit into it so I instantly ripped out all the black padding and painted the back part for the ear holes, I also added my padding. I am absolutely in love with this bucket but I am finding it hard to find a place to put the fans. The fans in my old one were right by the ear holes but I don’t want them to be visible so I was hoping to get some suggestions on where everyone else puts theirs?
  25. Wow this seriously came a long way and congratulations on how good it looks. I had to scroll back to make sure it was the same build because it looks perfectly proportionate. Such a great job
