  1. I typically lay my soft goods out in the sun to let them "bake" a bit. I also run them in a dryer with a "bounce" sheet to freshen them. It's a little easier for me as I'm in Arizona but I try not to wash as much if I can avoid it. I also do wipe all my armor down with Clorox wipes once I complete a troop and get home.
  2. That's looking much better when you compare to the CRL model. Always good to have that overall front and back image up when checking your fitment. Keep up the great work!
  3. Hi Nes and please don't concern yourself with too many questions! That's what we're here for so please keep asking them! The shoulder bridges can be either elastic or cotton webbing and typically the connections between the front and back armor as well as the belt drop boxes are cotton webbing. For basic the elastic may be approvable but check with your GML before committing to that route. @Aradun, @Chopper what are your thoughts? Keep up the great work and great questions!
  4. That's great to hear and move forward at your own speed. We're always here if you need.
  5. You can always create a purse or a bookbag with the material, and sell it, or even something to protect your lid.πŸ˜‰
  6. I'm in Arizona so like our Australian brothers and sisters we get pretty hot. That being said I've never needed fans in my lid as the air circulates really well. Everyone is spot on regarding the suggestion to keep your balaclava opening around your chin. Since you are in layers it's essential that you hydrate before, during and after and always take a break if you are feeling off or getting too hot. Heat exhaustion is no joke.
  7. Just watch out for the TK's b/c they are going to want you to carry everything for them!πŸ˜‚
  8. Congrats on your approval Pathfinder! Excellent work!
  9. Keep up the great work and asking those questions. RS is a solid vendor and glad the pencil lines made a difference.
  10. Always a good idea to shoot some photos to your GML to ensure you're on the right track. We can help you based on the CRL but it's the GML that will ultimately approve you within the garrison.
  11. That's what I started with then made changes due to trooping malfunctions over 80+ troops. Started replacing pieces with Mon-Cal parts. SC is a great vendor and always supports the customer so you will not go wrong with them.
  12. @Chopper @MrPoopie Do you have any advice for this trooper? Thank you!
  13. It's all good mate! It's the joy of bringing smiles and making folks feel like a kid again!
  14. Well all have it mate! Last troop a kid dumped a grape snow cone on my bund and smoked itπŸ˜‚ Yeah no getting that out in the wash so I had to go for a new one! Thankfully my pouches were spared so I can keep those.
  15. @Chopper is right on. I can't tell you how many stress cracks I've had in my holster as well as my chest armor attachment. It's the nature of the armor and you're not doing anything wrong nor are you alone. You got a whole det of folks that deal with dings and cracks every troop. It's the nature of the hobby😁
  16. I've had several pairs of @Chrisx909x boots and can attest that they are worth every penny. You won't go wrong if you decide to go with his product.
  17. Honestly Justin you are seriously amazing!
  18. Agree with Arne on the biceps and forearms. Those should be rotated forward. Forearms should be over the top of your hand (glove gauntlet) and the biceps should be aligned with your shoulders. For basic the drop box distance from the belt isn't an issue but for lvl2 they should be around 1 inch (2.54cm) from the belt.
  19. @KOtrooper, @Minimo, @BikerScout007 How is this update looking to you?
  20. It's approvable but you're still going to have to add the riding patches and butt flap. The mandarin collar isn't required any longer but is fine for basic approval. I would heed the earlier suggestion to get the Red Kap suit and mod it yourself or with the help of your garrison mates or a tailor. Check out a few of the links provided for the soft goods and you'll get a better idea of what you need. Keep asking those great questions!
  21. I'll easily third Aradun and Choppers motion. I have that blaster and I can't recommend it enough!
