Had some photos taken today with the state of my kit as it is. I think I'm ready to apply for Lancer
-
Thanks guys, yeah moving the cod up an inch won't be an issue at all. That boot blouser is exactly what I'm after, cheers Chopper.

Been a while since I updated this thread, but with our big Australian troop coming up this weekend I got all my kit together as it stands now: One issue I've found now is boot slouch, so just need to add some Velcro onto the boot and flight suit to hold it up

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was going off this part of the Lancer Specs that says the pouches are touching the belt. The pouches are sewn to the bund, but shouldn't be to hard to unpick and adjust out and up. The cod shouldn't be much of an issue either as it is attached with velcro so I can raise it up a touch so that it doesn't sit quite as for down and pull in between my thighs. Looking at the picture of the Lancer approved costume in the Lancer thread, it almost looks like I need to shorten the shoulder bridges an inch or so at the front so the chest armour sits a bit higher. Thoughts?

So had some photos done today with my new cummerbund and pouches. Any glaring issues anyone can see? My left armor strap popped halfway through the photos so my armor sat a little open.

Pretty similar to Chopper and 762s, I marked the visor our on the inside with pencil, then did a rough cut with the dremel cut off wheel and finally sanded it down on a slower speed with the dremel sanding drum.

Thanks guys, I was very nervous about it I can assure you!

Painted, zip tied in, clips added and a bit of weathering: And gave the rest of my hard armour some light weathering to blend in!

Did some work on my TD after receiving the cord form Amazon last week. I've wrapped the cord around some hose and given it a hit with some primer, thinking I'll need to give it a slighter shade of grey to get it right. I've popped it into my TD just to see how it looks. I like it better than my old ribbed hose

Using the following pics as my reference, I attacked my boots with my dremel milling bit and carved out the front notches. Hopefully after a troop or two the colour should match the rest of the soles.

Thanks mate, appreciate the input Hopefully when I get my new cummerbund and pouches fitted, it will sort out some of those issues! Boots- Added notches to my list of work needed. Shoulders- I have the zip tie connections, I'll post a pic of them tomorrow. Dropboxes- I'll have a play with the strapping and get them to sit a bit further back. Kneepads- I've found they have a tendency to twist and drop a bit as I wear them, so I'll add velcro-ing them to my list as well Thanks for your help!

I've had my scout approved for a few months now and am looking to shoot for Lancer, fingers crossed! Here is my approval pic for my basic level: The first thing on my list was a new, 2 part cummerbund. The one I'm wearing in the pic above was an all in one, bund and codpiece so I hit up cheesewhoopy and have just received my new one during the week. I'm hoping to have some pictures in the next couple of days of the new bund fitted to the costume. I used some velcro to attach the top of the old bund to the inside of the chest piece to keep it from slipping down and will be looking to use this on my new one as it worked quite well. Aaron also did me a solid favour and sent through some of the TD clips I need for upgrading my TD which I couldn't find here in Australia. The cord for wrapping the TD also proved to be impossible to find here, so some of the helpful guys here on bs.n pointed me to a place on Amazon I could find it and it's winging its way here now. During my basic build, I figured I may as well just add all of the lancer spec elastic on the biceps, forearms, elbows and knees to save time for when I decided to upgrade so all of these are at the correct widths already. My armour is an SC kit and my boots were made by Marcel4505, the undersuit a modded red kap to which I added the mandarin collar, leather riding patch and butt flap myself. What I was wondering is, is there anything else that stands out as needing to be fixed/modded to help me shoot for lancer? Thanks for all of your help

Ziptied Shoulder Bells: A tutorial
Gruntsky replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Great tutorial! In lieu of using another cable tie anchor and Velcro to attach mine to the shoulders I've used a small leather snap. I found the Velcro was forever coming undone under the shoulder bridge whenever I raised my arms -
Thanks Spike. I think Rick is going to have a chat to you soon for me about the availability of one of your barn finds
