  1. That's definitely an MLC. Doesn't look like a recast to me. So you have a great helmet there. Other than a terrible paint job it doesn't look that bad. You definitely need a new snout greeblie and decals. The one there looks like the one that came with my MLC. It's not very accurate and I just threw it in a box somewhere. Like Jim said, just sand it all down, redo the primer and paint it with a nice gloss white. When you're done you'll have a great helmet.
  2. I like the bendy chest armor.
  3. I also use option 1. As far as I know that's how the screen used ones were.
  4. I have an MLC helmet with the 3M bolts. Like Chunk said, you have to cut a square hole in the visor to fit the bolts into. On the helmet side I cut a half inch hole for the nut to fit through. Unfortunately the plastic nut that comes with the 3M kit isn't long enough to reach the bolt. I machined a longer nut but you can probably find something at a hardware store. That's all I used from the kit. I didn't like the headgear in the helmet so I went with military helmet pads.
  5. It is pretty weathered but it doesn't look bad. Not that anyone asked, but my personal view on weathering is that, for almost all troops, if the Empire were to send us as representatives to say a hospital, or event at a bookstore, or anywhere else in public, then they would not be sending the dirty armor troopers just out of battle. We'd be expected to put on our shiny clean armor to represent the Empire. For that reason I don't personally believe in weathering my armor. But like I said, no one asked
  6. Those are the exact same pads I got at a military surplus store. I love them. They hold the helmet perfectly on my head.
  7. I don't think the cucblack ones look bad at all. I'd like to see them side by side with the Trooperbay ones but they don't look too dark to me. The KS ones are way too light IMO.
  8. I ordered some snowtrooper armor from MC in December and was told it'd be 18-20 weeks.
  9. On a mannequin in the guest bedroom or in a tub like everyone else if I'm trooping a lot.
  10. Nope. The old hole was still covered by the tank so you can't see it.
  11. Didn't have to move it very far. What I did was I put the tank on how I wanted it and then took the bolt and covered the end black with a sharpie and put it through the hole until it touched the back armor. It left a black mark and I drilled a new hole in the back armor there. Fairly simple and it worked really well.
  12. 1) That is the correct fish hook 2) Either paint them grey or see if you can find the 3M bolt covers 3) Paint the snout greeb grey but leave the aerator part black
  13. Yeah. I had to drill a new hole to get the tank to fit correctly.
  14. Dun. Dun. Done........
  15. Is this a racing suit that came with the butt flap and riding patches already on it?
  16. Looks good! Are you still going to make fiberglass kits?
  17. Looks great bro!! Can't wait to get out on a troop with you in that gear! -a
  18. Looking good bud!! Get it done so we can troop together as scouts!!
  19. Awesome!! Can't wait to see the finished product! That was the last thing you were waiting for right?
  20. Was anyone on this forum actually there and able to talk to the efx guys about the helmet?
  21. That's some pretty awesome wallpaper.
  22. I wonder if this was rushed to get it done for SDCC and the production ones will be a bit nicer?
  23. I agree with you completely. I was in the opposite situation as you. I ordered my helmet directly from MLC but my armor from MonCal. My helmet was delivered exactly when MLC said it would. I ordered my armor in August, was told it was ready to ship at the start of October, but didn't actually get it until January. So for four months I had a helmet and no armor. In the end I do thing it was all worth the wait, but there is no excuse for the poor communication and inability to make a true time estimate. If they had just told me it could take up to six months everything would have been fine.
  24. That's a great helmet you're getting!! Same one I have, though I ordered direct from MLC. I know he takes 4-6 weeks to get the helmet made and shipped out to MonCal. Then I'm assuming it waits until MC can get to it to paint it and finish it up unless you ordered it unfinished. Either way, once you get it you'll love it.
