TB4132 Lancer Application (PENDING)
4505Marcel replied to TheWolf's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
What size boot do you take mate? I can then tell you what size I do them. There is no hard and fast rule though as such, more the look has to be right, if you look at yours and then say on mine or witness's sale threads you will see the trim looks a lot thinner in the middles, maybe Dave can also tell you what size he would do the trim so we can get another size to compare to. -
I wash all mine in the normal machine, on cool ish temperatures, I pre wash and tumble dry mine before making so most of the shrinkage is done already pre manufacture. The suede does lighten but thats pretty cool as the movie ones were faded.

Thermal Detonator mounting issue
4505Marcel replied to Ducman82's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The 2 tie wraps (zip ties) is so easy to do, no need to try and over engineer it guys, but really any method that does the trick will be fine as long as the mounting method cant be seen and you have a black tie wrap visable in the middle of the TD -

Yes mate folding your vest sleeves under and in, and a stitch line around the base will do just fine bro, nothing to tricky. -

looking at your vest, we feel that the sleeves need to be shortened a touch. Basically they are covering too much of your bicep armour, shorten them so they site just below your shoulder armour bro which will reveal your armour. Also your bund at the back has a little too much showing uner the belt, ive had to adjust one of these before for someone, I measured from the velcro closure to approx your sides, then tuck in the amount showing under the belt and re sew'd it to sit better along the bottom of the belt, does that make sense mate? -
Thermal Detonator mounting issue

It really does sound alot more confusing than it actually is trust me -
Yes snap in the cod, but you have to do it "before" you sew the cod together so the snap cant be seen on the outside of the cod mate.

On my SC kit there is 4 holes drilled into the female part of the clip. Slip a zip tie, through 2 of the holes say left side, go around the corrigated tube and pull tight. Place the TD box part over your corrigated pipe. The second zip tie is basically the same as the first, but this time it goes through a hole in the box, back in the box around the pipe and pull tight. You can then see a little black zip tie vertical in the middle of the TD box on the outside as per movie. You then attach each end of the belt to the clips as usuall, the clip is in the middle under the TD box and pipe so always hidden. Hope this helps -

Do you have a pic of your tank topper in its current state please? Looks like in the old pics your missing the white painted circle and silver rivit (shouldnt be black) -
Yup dremmel and a small round file to finish is what I used
-
Yup over and wants to be 50mm (2") black elastic, some velcro it to the underside of the bund at the rear, I personally put a popper in the back of the cod and attach that way as its easier to dress

I see you are already getting good advice, couple of things I would say is you could narrow down the bottom of the bund cod a little to help with the camel toe, you will always get some though. Also Id say the flaps on the pouches could have been narrowed a little also at the bottom as the flap is nearly as wide as the pouch itself, neither of which really should stop 501st access though, and brought in and up as already noted. Getting there though trooper -
Velcro only isnt the best option for attaching the bells, you usually end up with a large flare on the armour to arm. I have mine hanging on the shoulder bridges and then a 25mm elastic around the bottom and around my bicep to keep it all nice and fitted tight
-
A little grain is fine mate that stuf is border line getting heavy though, smooth just looks odd in my opinion. Id say you still have a lot of stretching to do on the toe area which will remove some more of the wrinkles and grain.

Nice I really want to get my two boys a scout kit, do you know what size this fits upto?

TB 5794 Requesting Lancer Status (PENDING)

I would also ask you try to bring in the shoulder armour a little closer to your arms as it looks quite flared, move the shoulders away a touch at the bridges if needs be and add a 25mm elastic to the shoulder armour at the bottom to bring it closer to your arm. For me the pouches are a little too beige, but that is a grey area to be honest, it says white or off white not beige. Will see what the others say. Possibly ok though as different screens show dfferent colours. The other thing is the crotch patch should extend up the leg over the top and back down your other leg, you have yours cut off straight at the top which wouldnt be an issue if it didnt show, the bund crotch dosent hide the flat top. -
Yep I use the same system, works well for me also
