Does anyone have suggestions of the proper placement of the bar code pattern on the back of the helmet? I know that it's on the left side (obviously), but I'm curious...is it centered to the trapezoid pattern above it, distance from the left vent on the side of the helmet, etc. Maybe I'm making too much of this, but thought I'd ask . I'm using TK-4510 decals and that is the last one I have to put on to have my MLC v3 helmet completed.

Scratches/Cuts on ABS Armor

Ha, I like it, thanks guys! -
What's the best way to repair a scratch/cut on your ABS armor? I made a slip with my X-Acto blade while finishing up my belt and thought I would reach out before trying anything.

Lens and Helmet Mount Questions (MLC v3)

J, you were right on the 1" pads...I actually went with a mix of 1/2" and 1" ZAP pads in mine to fit just right . -
Holding 2 Pieces of MLC Together

Nice, I like that better than velcro. Great idea! Do you have any pics of that design? -

Holding 2 Pieces of MLC Together
Wickedfluxx replied to Wickedfluxx's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I noticed that it does close to the point that you mentioned, just wasn't sure if anyone used a method to make sure it stayed close. I may use some white velcro, on the inside where they meet, just to be sure. -
For those folks with a MLC v3 helmet, do you use the chin-strap to hold the 2 helmet pieces together or velcro? Just curious what people have done out there successfully so that the face piece doesn't move around from the bucket.

In the Lancer costume specs, I saw the following 2 items that I was curious about... "A black vest with padded, ribbed biceps worn over the under suit, but under the torso armor." "Mandarin style (or similar) collar that can be raised up to help conceal the neck and would preferably have an enclosing strap to keep the neck concealed." Does anyone have examples of these or know where to find items like these? I'm wondering what they look like, with the costume, as well.

Perfect, I'll look to get some duck cloth/canvas to start working on those. Thanks for the clarification Dave!

Great topic, I too am working on my SC armor and didn't notice this, so thanks for the information all! In regards to the duck cloth pieces, I didn't notice this in the Lancer costume specifications, but thought I would ask what the rules were around those. Are they considered against Lancer specs? Are they a requirement? I love the idea and want to incorporate into my own costume, but would like to know how they are viewed.

Lens and Helmet Mount Questions (MLC v3)
Wickedfluxx replied to Wickedfluxx's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I thought dark, but not green as well. However, I can say that the shade 4 green that I just got is completely dark when I painted the inside of my helmet black. Without the black paint to help darken the lens my eyes would definitely be visible and so would the green. -

Ordered the 1/2", I think the 1" would be too much. Also, the shade 4 visor came in and after painting the inside of my MLC helmet black I think it's going to work just fine. Thanks for the help all! -
Helmet speaker recommendations?
Wickedfluxx replied to Nerf Herder's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I've heard that Aker is the best, but have ordered a hollow snout from MC as well to fit a mini speaker. Thought it would be interesting to give it a try and figured I could always default back to Aker should I desire. -

Shade #4 looks good and I never considered using memory foam as an option. Tinting my own lens is another interesting option as you can customize it yourself. Thanks for the ideas folks, keep them coming! -
Lens and Helmet Mount Questions (MLC v3)
Wickedfluxx posted a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
A couple of other questions... After doing some reading on the forum, I'm not entirely sure what's acceptable for Lancer status in regards to lens color. Will a green shade 4 safety visor work? What works best for inner helmet mounting? I've read that the 3M Speedglas 9000 headband doesn't entirely fit, but that the mounting hardware is key for screen accuracy. Any take on what works best for a MLC v3 helmet? Thanks, -Kenyon- -
MLC v3 Helmet and Trik Toys
Wickedfluxx replied to Wickedfluxx's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Good call on the balaclava, apparently I'm not firing on all cylinders today so thanks for the reminder. I pm'ed you about the decal information and definitely will look into a welding helmet replacement lens instead! -
Just received my MLC v3 helment today (thanks Mardon)! Does anyone know if the helmet decals and lens replacement from Trik Toys are good options for finishing the helmet? Decals http://triktoys.com/shop/catalog/product_i...products_id=100 Lens http://triktoys.com/shop/catalog/product_i...;products_id=46 Since these are designed for Rubies and Don Post helmets I'm not quite sure if they'll work. If they do work, will they meet Lancer status specifications? I'm not so worried about the lens replacement as I am the decals. Curious if I should just do some extra paint work, but wanted to reach out to be sure. Also, is the ribbed neckseal a good investment? Neckseal http://triktoys.com/shop/catalog/product_i...;products_id=68 Thanks! -Kenyon-

Tank and Back Chest Question
Wickedfluxx replied to Wickedfluxx's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Definitely a neat take on attaching the tank, unfortunately I think it's beyond my abilities at this point. I'll probably go epoxy for the top and 1/2" grip for the rivet on the bottom with dual washers. -
Tank and Back Chest Question
Wickedfluxx replied to Wickedfluxx's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Interesting idea and one that I had not considered, I would love to see a picture of the design there. It sure would beat having to mess around with epoxy. What about the gap itself from the tank to the back chest plate? Are there Lancer specs for that? -
Two questions: 1.) When I attached the tank topper to the tank, I went inside the tank to attach the rivet with the washer on top (instead of going on the outside with the rivet and washer). It looked closer to the screen version, but I wanted to be sure should I try for Lancer status. 2.) When attaching the tank to the back chest plate, are there any gotchas that I should be aware of? I am using SC armor and as far as I know there needs to be a gap shown (i.e. show that it is actually two pieces) with a rivet on the bottom only (which would mean epoxy for the to hold the top of the tank down to the back chest plate). Are there any dimensions to follow here or is it pretty straight-forward? Thanks, -Kenyon-
