  1. Very very sloppy business. I'll never understand it, but on the flipside, I'll never have a screen lineage Scout helmet any other way. That's the only reason I sprang for one...I knew the wait would be long and painful, but seeing as how only 100 are being made (with nary a hope of future productions) I had to go for it. \m/
  2. Uh oh...I think I have alot (read: All but knees) of straps to replace haha \m/
  3. Ya I'd love to see how this is done as well. Anybody who has done this already have any pics?
  4. Formally expressing my interest in starting one here. Golden Gate Garrison. \m/
  5. Definitely still on the to do list! As soon as I get my RS bucket (I'm in wave 3....so it'll be a little while yet) I'm going to get started on it. \m/
  6. Can't we just forget about those guys on the deathstar? We all know they haven't seen any real action \m/
  7. Hey everyone! With my purchase of an RS helmet (still waiting for it to arrive...in the 3rd wave), I figured I get the jump on weathering my armor. I'm a perfectionist and a "screen accurate" snob so I feel like weathering is technically the only option When approaching weathering are there any sort of templates or techniques that are tried and true for a screen accurate weathered look? I've read that the original armor was painted white and then rattle canned from a distance with black spray paint...anybody done that? I've got an airbrush and all the necessary tools...I just wanted some input before I got started. Thanks!
  8. I'm actually planning on shooting a big unboxing/review/comparison video when I get mine in. I have a buddy who will let me use his weathered RS helmet to compare with the clean as well. I personally have a CB bucket and know some guys with other maker's helmets. The only one I can't compare in the video is LW. Should be a pretty comprehensive video!
  9. Not just KS buckets. Speaking of which....who wants a CB bucket? I'm about to list mine for sale on here...
  10. As far as how they created the mold from the production prop, check out this link. http://www.rspropmasters.com/creating-the-biker-scout-replica-helmet-part-1/ Goes into a lot of detail. They didn't 3D scan it but rather used very time consuming traditional methods. When they say "production used" prop they mean that it was produced for use in RotJ, but wasn't necessarily used during filming. So an original helmet like any of the screen scouts would have worn, but apparently not needed for shooting. Pretty amazing find to produce a pretty amazing replica! TKs have had incredibly accurate helmets and armor for quite a long while so it's about time we Scouts have something that has actual production lineage!!!
  11. I'm in the market for a new Cummerbund and vest...seeing as how all of this new information is being discussed sincerely, would it be wise to wait a bit longer? I've read that there may be some new information regarding the vest as well.
  12. My previous link didn't work, so let's try this. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10153975040369333&id=265114729332 \m/
  13. Haha. Yup! Fingers crossed! heres the facebook post: <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/comment_embed.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Frspropmasters%2Fposts%2F10153975040369333%3Fcomment_id%3D10153975122359333&include_parent=false" width="560" height="141" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
  14. Wave 3 has 5 open slots! I just ordered mine. Get on it those who want one! When I ordered there was 9 left, and it quickly dropped to 5. Estimated shipping is May for these and I'm inclined to believe it seeing as how all the kinks are worked out! http://www.rspropmasters.com/product/dickey-beer-signature-edition-biker-scout-helmet-wave-3-open-now/
  15. Sounds good! í ½í±

  17. No. I had one instance of feedback but it was a placement issue on my end. I hadnt mounted it in the final position and it was dangling from the helmet. In that instance I had some feedback. With everything mou ted properly in the helmet I experienced zero feedback. \m/
  18. I missed the preorders on these, but am eagerly awaiting another preorder wave. I hate to say it like this, but as people start to get their orders, If anyone is dissatisfied with their buckets and are looking to get rid of them, I'm sure there are many members here who would quickly jump on them...myself included. \m/
  19. Awesome! I'm glad to see all the interest. Tony and I will be working on nailing down a maker for the hollowed out greeblie that would be supplied with the kit. Anybody got any ideas of someone who might be able to help?
  20. Even with the incredibly stupid long wait to get one of these I would still get one if I could right now. They just look....right. \m/
  21. Thanks so much! I plan to do many more videos with this type of stuff. From what I've seen, the installation of the system itself shouldn't be much different regardless of the helmet. Drilling the hole in the helmet behind the snout will need to be done no matter what. Ensuring that you have a backing plate that matches your helmet will be very important as well. Other than that it's all about finding space in your bucket!
  22. Of course! Let me know if you have any other questions.
  23. It may not look like it, but my head is pretty big. There is more than enough space in the CB bucket. What maker do you have?
  24. Hey everyone! I've recently been in close contact with ukswrath from whitearmor. He is a member in the Golden Gate Garrison and his number designation is TK/TD/HWT-10116. His name is Tony and he is an extremely well respected member of the 501st and people follow his work very closely on Whitearmor! He has several sale threads running over there, and one is for a self-contained helmet audio system for TKs which is insanely awesome. Well, Tony got in touch with me and wants to see how interested we Scouts would be in having a similar system for us! I went ahead and put together a video demo to show how the system would work after getting the components from Tony. A couple of things to note before you watch the video: 1) This is not a complete system yet! This is meant to gauge interest and work out kinks, etc. 2) The Snout greeblie I was given was an MC made piece. This piece is molded as 1 piece rather than 2 and represents one of the biggest questions for this system. Should it be supplied with the backing plate and engine/mic tip as one piece? Or is it best to have your own backing plate to match whatever make of helmet you have and just be supplied with the engine/mic greeblie. Watch the video through to see why this matters. 3) i-Comm was not tested in this video. I think it's generally thought of as being overkill for Scouts and unnecessary for "accuracy". TKs need the clicks, but Biker Scouts don't! This would also increase the cost of a kit for this system exponentially. As far as the Snout greeblies are concerned, there are several options, and this is one of the main reasons why we need everyones preferences. The larger DonJarr greebie would actually provide louder speaker output because it would fit a larger speaker after it was hollowed out. However, this options creates a great deal more work for Tony, and DonJarr does not sem to be providing them very often. It seems like the best overall option due to all helmet makers backing plates being different sizes, is to make a hollowed out MC snout with Mic installed that could then be fitted to any backing plate on any helmet. Let me know what everyone thinks, and I'll get Tony to join up on the tread soon if you have questions for him!
  25. I've been communicating with a member on FISD, ukswrath, and he has been trying to develop a system for Scouts that mimics his setup for TKs. We just met today and are working on getting something to show every one soon! I'll start a build thread a good amount to show everyone! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
