I'm considering shaking that tree again! I just wish someone somewhere could give a straight answer on some of this stuff.

lol. Nice. Actually though, there's a bit more ;) I sent Warhawk a message and he responded with this info: "let me ask around, I know our CEO gave stuff to Lucas for the movie, bot sure if it was just his personal stuff, or company stuff. I remember hearing something about old WWII leather helmets being converted into the rebel helmets used on Endor. I will check." Didn't hear anything after that unfortunately I let me ask around, I know our CEO gave stuff to Lucas for the movie, bot sure if it was just his personal stuff, or company stuff. I remember hearing something about old WWII leather helmets being converted into the rebel helmets used on Endor. I will check.

Man, been a while since I've been on here... A long while ago I was deep in research on some of these things. Had a few conversations with Constantin and Gino and we all agreed the suit was some kind of Avirex suit. So I asked around on some vintage clothing forums and ended up on The Fedora Lounge. I posted up an inquiry into old Avirex suits and how they may have been used on ROTJ for Scouts...surprisingly I received some very helpful replies. I'm going to dig up the whole chain in a bit...seems I can't do it on my phone.

Great work. Would it help to have a pair? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Absolutely fantastic. I'm a size 9 Did you cast a sole from a pair of Sierras? I was planning to hand off my pair to Mickey down in SoCal but it looks like yours are spot on already...

Like Chopper said, check Striders lancer thread and my own lancer build thread for details on best weathering practices. ? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Ya, the belt is so spot on! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

If you want to go the extra mile I would say to try and remove all of the weathering and start that from scratch as well. If you need help with that there are a few threads on the armor forum about how to do it. Strider's "Lancer Build Tutorial" thread also covers how to achieve an accurate look with minimal effort. Super cool you inherited all this stuff! Welcome to the Pathfinders!

I'm 5'10 and 150lbs. So pretty slim as well!It does sit higher in the chest...slightly..but it's actually more accurate that way. I've compared the Strider armor directly to the SC and SC armor is actually bulkier on alot of parts. You can't get better than Strider and you shouldn't have an issue Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Make sure the cable is one that can be split. I'm not sure about the cable that you listed but it won't have the correct shape unless it's split. RJ 11 is too thick and too round. Check out my thread on the armor forum for more details.

Thanks so much! Got anything you're working on right now? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Considering it's part of the Han Solo blaster auction and the last one of those sold for $200,000 it's unlikely haha Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

My question is which one of us is going to win the auction so we can make these available...haha
-
Thanks for putting this together dude! Should be helpful to a lot of people. In fact...I may need a new blaster soon. Going to need to hit up one these vendors...

It's definitely needs to be wrapped tight to achieve the correct look. The combination of the correct tube size (1 3/8" outside diameter) combined with a 16 gauge lamp/extension cord split and using the correct cable half after the split is the only way to get the proper look. Maybe I'll do a quick video to illustrate! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Ok cool. Well if you're following Strider then you're on the right track! To get the right look from the split power cable/lamp cord it has to be wrapped a specific way. I can take some photos of mine later if you'd like.

There is also a special Plastic prep primer that can be used. I use this on my helmet builds as well. It was recommended to me by Constantin and is quite helpful. It dries clear as well.
-
Just went through your build...looks great! I'm curious to know what you ended up using to wrap the TD? It looks like the correct cabling from far away but was curious. Not sure if people are aware now as it's been a while, but there is a thread detailing what seems to be the screen used cabling that I helped to identify along with Constantin and Mickey. Maybe we can get it stickied?

removing zippers from Esprit gloves. How?
ShaunPug replied to kurtyboy's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
It's actually extremely easy but difficult to explain properly. Unzip the zipper and then take your scissors and cut where the zipper is attached...on the inside and around that "V" shape on the glove. It makes more sense when you look at photos of already modified gloves. -
Ziptied Shoulder Bells: A tutorial
ShaunPug replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
In I can see how in this photo the zip ties might look clear, but I'm fairly certain that it's just a reflection on black zips. You can see directly underneath the white loooking highlights that there is a more pronounced black line.
