  1. The scope turned out much better than I hoped, excellent mate. Looking forward to getting this blaster, nice accurate piece.
  2. Yes Scarcasm has another set of armour, fibreglass with white gelcoat surface, a very accurate armour as well. Pm Chef on here for more info.
  3. My first armour was SC, great quality nice plastic, great seller, fast delivery and a nice guy. Just not as accurate as MC... yet! Folks normally stick to MC,SC and KS as we know the quality of these best. From worst to best, Star fortress? I have never seen this but everything else he makes looks terrible. Can't really say about Movie FX either. Armor Depot KS SC MC There is a great thread on here somewhere showing the differences. I would avoid mixing and matching armour parts unless you want to paint it all the same shade of white.
  4. The most accurate armour is MC, there are no other makers sculpting any other part better IMO. If you are about the size of a ROTJ Biker Scout extra/stuntman then I would advise you to buy this armour. Long wait but send for it now, even without picture comparisons.
  5. Maybe position the holster closer to the top lip of your boot as well. The boots collapsed in the movie, I rarely have my blaster in my boot for this reason.
  6. It's a beauty mate, looks like this could be the most accurate version yet.I think you have the last ring detail spot on size wise. Scope turned out great. The raised singlepoint lettering will look more obvious in black resin. The open end is great, as long as we are seeing the screen grab correctly. Will you sell as an unpainted/unbuilt kit?
  7. Yes Alex, I think you may be right, the tablets may not be working This is as close as I can get at the minute but I am very sure there will be more stuff to discover about the best Star Wars helmet design.
  8. Thanks guys, some of my helmets, Beside my RS Props Stormtrooper helmet, The size of this Biker Scout helmet is the same as the original, they are not a very big helmet.
  9. Regarding the number of stitch lines you guys can see or not see, as wise old Ben Kenobi once said, "You must do what you feel is right, of course.."
  10. I have tried to weather my Biker Scout helmet as seen on the Star Wars in Concert helmet. This original helmet appears to have the most screen time of all the Biker Scout helmets in ROTJ. There is a distinctive taped off marking on the nose section, not particularly great looking but I suspect this was taped up prior to the weathering originally to protect the lens from overspray. So there was probably a bit of overspray still on the lens as well.
  11. Yes the nose detail back plate is exactly that, you can buy [MC]a complete resin nose detail with the backplate as part of it.This will fit a KS perfectly. You can see how the black section needs to be painted prior to fitting the nose section. The only "problem" with this accurate method on a KS is the shallow recess for the nose detail, maybe sanding the new noseplate flat will balance this out. I added a Backplate to my KS nose and it really improved the look.
  12. Hi Mathew, it is a very easy modification, check the existing nose detail does not have a screw holding it on , screwed from the rear of the faceplate. If it doesn't then I suspect it is glued on, a flat screwdriver or a dinner knife slid under the piece will pop it off. I would then measure and fit a thin piece of plastic, 1-2mm[because the recess is very shallow] to act as the nose backplate if the MC one does not have it as part of the detail. Iwould then mask off the nose section[after taking a sanding block and squaring the front of the faceplate nose section] and spray the inside matt/satin black. Then stick your painted nose detail into the nose recess. easier done than said!
  13. Looks great Chris
  14. If you think I was having a pesonal pop at you Marcel I am sorry for that. Your idea of some sort of vote on accuracy is silly however, you asked for a screencap, I gave you one, I cannot change the standards but I can try to help guys make educated decisions. To refuse to see the evidence and keep the standards with no evidence doesn't make any sense to me . The guys who are in the middle of their costume build may have already bought an inaccurate cummerbund or made one to comply with the CRL but I am concerned about the guys who are coming to this site tomorrow and next week looking for some accurate info. It seems pretty easy to me to add another line to the Lancer CRL , I had 6 , I am making a new cummerbund, I accept we got it wrong on this. Now what is the correct way to show the other inaccuracies in the CRL without going through this again?
  15. Ha ha, so now I find a screencap as you asked, it is still not enough, you want more screen grabs! There is no evidence to prove the current standards but you still want to keep it. Mate, think about the guys who want accuracy in their costumes. So does this mean that new guys coming in will be continuing to make their cummerbunds incorrectly? All I can do is advise them that the present CRL is inaccurate. It will mean you have one less stitch line to sew on the cummerbunds you sell,
  16. Great work, a lovely piece.
  17. After a load of excellent reference shots I have the additional pictures to allow the CRL to be upgraded, taken directly from the book by Blackberry phone.
  18. I have Return of the Jedi movie still book ISBN 1 85227 729 7, 1999 , it is clearly seen in here. The scene where Han sneaks up on the Biker Scout. I will show the pic if I can copy it.
  19. I have been looking for any evidence that the present CRL is correct, nothing. This pic from a few years back almost proves the Blu ray cummerbund is not anything new, this looks like the exact same suit, holster , chest breakage etc. Screen used I think. Although not in a screencap, the helmet is the SW in Concert one and it was in the movie for certain.
  20. Yes I have to agree with you Morten, we all want to be correct but following a costume mistake to be Lancer is very foolish in my opinion. If I can see a clear screen grab of the seven, six or whatever number of stitch lines I will gladly do this. This number of stitch lines is not an opinion, it is photographic fact. Unless you want to follow the present CRL which has no photographic evidence at all, which is an opinion.
  21. Yes As Andry said, the Empire could have issued any style of secondary blaster to the Biker Scouts, I have trooped with my E11, however, the only "accurate" blaster for Biker Scouts is the sniper rifle, because of SW Battlefront. It is similar to the DLT 19/MG 34 and the MG 42 but with a scope attached. Both would do. I love the concept rifle with the strap, it is pretty snazzy. My Hasbro converted into a sniper rifle, the E11S.
  22. They just sit on the top and botton curved edges, the rest of the knee plate "floats" over my knee, it is comfortable and there is a bit of air around my knee. The extra space actually helps with bending my knee as it is not dragging over the suit, which will hopefully stop any costume fixes whilst trooping. I don't want to add velcro just yet. I thought about padding but don't think the original guys had any so I can't add it.
  23. The bottom edge may be a bit shapeless but a wee bit of careful sanding can make it better.
  24. Not too bad, I would change the decals to a better quality set, change the nose detail and add a back plate to the nose section, paint the inner nose recess with black matt spray paint making it stop at half way in the nose flat surface. I would cut the inside visor about another 2-3mm to almost remove the second return edge taking care not to take any more off and keeping the visor rounded in the corners. The eyes are too W shaped and I would cut them a bit more in certain areas, sanding the edge to make it a bit smoother than what you have. The edge where you cut to is not so correct. Look at the gallery pics under original helmet pics to get a better idea how to trim the eyes, any questions just ask.
  25. MJ, I already said this, yes the GG Biker Scout is a great wee sculpt, and looks like they got the stitching sculpt right, I was using it as part of my "evidence"
