  1. Gloves Boots After fitting up the shin armor, the zippers on the boots are going to be my savior since you have to hike the shin armor up to your knees to get your boots on. When you do this, your can't exactly bend your knee to tie boots very well so just a quick zip and I'm G2G.
  2. The globs are where the silicone sealer was used. I couldn't find the liquid latex you used so I went with the silicone. It peels off very easily and will look good when removed.
  3. You know him, you love him, it's MrBungles armor! I have sort of been taking some pics along the way so I figured I should start a thread of the progress. If you look really close, you can see where he etched "recasters suck" into the goggle area setting up the biceps "seamless" style.. I used strips of ABS instead of the for sale signs. goggle area, ears, and sunroof cut out all suspects glued and ready for bondo bondo primer coat lid fumes are baaaaad mkay next coat...... chrome for the cool weathering look. more So I skipped some pics.... I laid some silicone (the clear type you seal windows with) on some spots over the chrome, then sprayed another layer of dark primer on top... then laid some more silicone on the black. Today, I painted the base coat and will probably put one more layer down tomorrow. You can see the silicone in the pics... the black colored blotches are covering the last primer layer, and the green blotches are where the chrome will show through. The paint is a spot on match with MrBungles sample he sent me and is found at Home Depot ... Behr premium plus ultra "organic field" code UL200-15 .. about $13 for a quart
  4. That's pretty freaking close! What color is that? I achieved the same thing today by using olive green craft paint mixed with a couple of drops of yellow. It would be far easier to not have to mix it though. I haven't painted my armor yet, btw.
  5. For the life of me, I can't see where there should be yellow in the cammo. I have watched all of the close up scenes over and over again and I think it's different lighting that is causing the green to flatten out a bit. It also only looks like one color of brown that was laid on heavier in some spots, and lighter in other areas making it look like a different color. I don't know.. my brain hurts from watching the whopping 60 seconds of KT footage over and over!
  6. The green is very close to the split pea color that I picked up at a craft store.
  7. I'm knee deep in my build right now and just bondo'd the seams this morning. The helmet is all trimmed out and everything else is ready to paint... just going to wait until I sand down the bondo so I can paint everything at once. I'm hoping to be done by the end of the month.
  8. Good find, but for US folks in NA, shipping is a KILLER! I routinely ship 5lb items in small packages to AUS and NZ and shipping is around $50. I found mine through an Ebay store in the UK for a decent price for $55 shipped.... well, as decent as we are going to get in the US. The shirt is even new! http://stores.ebay.com/JOHNS-WORLD-OF-CAMO If anyone gets a set from him, make sure you request an invoice before you Paypal, so you can get the combined shipping rate.
  9. Check the FS section.... I have some boxes up for grabs.
  10. Dude... I'm the one that posted the pics and that has a pair already. I have worn them a couple of times around town all day and they are great. The zippers are YKK so they should last a long time.
  11. See this post http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=5970 They are what I'm going to use.
  12. Wouldn't it make sense to have someone whip up some rubber greebs to glue to the arch area of our boots? It seems like boot options may get opened up quite a bit if greebs were available. Maybe even a complete wrap around rubber overlay? Slap some Shoe Goo on there and it won't budge! Maybe Acrylikhan wants to take a stab at it?
  13. Sportsman ... in the OP's link.
  14. Yeah.. it makes sense. I know they aren't as good as the GBX, but my foot does not fit GBX shoes very well. I have had two pairs of them in the past and they are just an awful fit.... blisters, etc. For the most part, people don't look at our soles much when we are trooping so I think it's okay. I will work some sanding magic to spruce them up though.
  15. I just got a pair of these and they seem great! Nice and comfy and light at about 24oz per boot.... and zips are rad I think I'm going to snag another pair of these for stomping in the woods and camping. These seem to run about 1/2 size large, but not bad at all. There is plenty of room in the toe box, but not so much that I'm swimming. The arch doesn't seem too bad, but I plan on removing the segmented tread patch in the arch to pop it up just a bit more.
  16. I asked a couple of weeks ago and they are still several months away before they will offer it. They said they are busy with other projects right now and this is a "spare time" thing, which is limited.
  17. Awesome! Nice work!
  18. I am starting my KT build and have ordered some DPM in desert. In my hunt, I came across this shirt that looks promising for trooping on hot days. From what I understand, the upper back cammo drops down low enough to where it would meet up with the top of the tank. I run on the warm side so I will use any method I can to stay cool. Anyone have experience with them? The cheapest I have found is here http://www.cadetdirect.com/order1.php?pg=1661
