You'd be surprised at how the techniques from building models can translate across different mediums. I'm an avid model builder, especially in 1/72 scale, and a lot of what I learned building models helped me with my armor. That and the fantastic folks that hang out here in the detachment. Your weather is well done and you shuold be proud of your accomplishment. Please let us know if we can be of assistance to you as you move forward to complete your build.

You build 1:72 too?!? Awesome, I m working on “populating” a carrier deck. It’s an on off build, here’s a pic of one of my crowded deck 2b01fc03dc2b3be9c5b9f76290b9f98d.jpg

I m pushing the belt as my final build. I m not sure how to go about settling the rear webbing. Where the other half of the side pouches webbing attaches to the belt. 5347f440e3db01d48be37d9fa7b3468a.jpg
Is the webbing stich onto the main belt or is it free and can be position with Velcro etc?

The connection point is concealed, so the method of attachment is up to you.

In terms of best practices, some people sew the webbing to the belt. Others have used snaps to attach it. Personally, I like using snaps, since if the drop box snaps get tangled in my bin, then it's easy to straighten them out.

When you mentioned “snap” is it a quick release buckle or a hook and loop?

Holster Construction

Guys any advice on how to mount the outer piece onto the main holster body?

1. Do I cut a slit as mark in the photos and slot the bend end in?
2. Or rivet 0787cacab01229823ae4c9fa89117bfb.jpg
the bended end to main holster body?ee0060fae5dfea0b82da13b80d4181ed.jpg

You don't need to bend the end into a slot on the front end of the holster. You can either 1) glue the bend to the holster or 2) rivet the bend to the holster. Either is fine.

😐That's amazing!!!! I got a Hasegawa S-3A Viking on the bench along with some Ban Dai SW models. Picked up a carrier elevator baseplate from Coastal Kits in the UK to put the Viking on. I have a Scout Biker in my collection too and I'm waiting to finish a few things so I can do a diorama. You have some amazing skills and talent for building!

Thank you for your kind words. It’s just mediocre model work. It’s 1/72 so I can hide most of the build and paint flaws.
I m building ane830754860535e9cc8a1054edfda91a4.jpg
expansion for the deck.
