Here we go then. Still a way of actually starting the process fully but at least I know now where im going to get everything from and sorted.

Chefs Creations - Armour, Helmet, Flightsuit, Flak Vest, Bund/Pouches and Boots with blaster -

This should help with the fitting as will be tailored to me.

Wampa Wear or Imperial Boots - scout gloves

Mando Makes - either DLT-19x or DLT-20A

That's gonna get me through the gate and trooping but im also looking at clearing either a 19X or 20A. They will probably be 3d files printed by a firm nearby then I'll prep , assemble and paint

This will be a long time in the making but its a start.

Can't wait

You might be able to talk to Rob about the 20a. He’s got a long history with the Pathfinders and may know where you might find one.

Will do.

I’ve had a quote for getting a 19 printed that seems ok.   Using the thingiverse files that   @AradunFFprinted

There’s a guy on Etsy that does kits that have all gotten great reviews and are designed to be easy to assemble and sort so that’s a possibility.

Guys called premier props.

silly little update

First proper purchase - id always wondered how the boots tight on your feet when they cant be laced up.   Then on @AradunFF 's WIP I spotted the link for the elastic laces to turn them into slip-ons.

Quick trip to amazon uk and thats a pair bought

Love this place

I finally just decided to not use any laces and it's been fine for me and a bit easier to dress. With the vinyl so tight across the foot the boots don't go anywhere.

Ahh cool.  I’m open to options and even if I don’t use them they won’t go to waste as I’ll just put them on a pair of the gf’s eldests trainers.  He’s autistic and his gross motor skills aren’t great so they’ll come in useful either way

😀

Oh for sure. You need to do what's best for you and more importantly for your feet. Keeping your feet comfortable on a long troop is critically important so I can't recommend keeping your feet happy strongly enough.

I actually had them listed in my materials for my build based on suggestions by others, but the big guns around here like Retrofire, the DL, and others just leave their boots untied, so I actually do the same. The boots really don’t go anywhere, as Retrofire noted above. I will tie them when on longer troops, because I personally like a snugger fit when I’m standing for long periods. The laces are pretty easy to access and adjust even with the vinyl. You can try them with the elastic and without to get a feel for what works best for you once you have your boots in hand.

Im the same Dennis , before I moved to Edinburgh my whole career has been in manufacturing / engineering on shifts in safety boots so im very much using insoles etc.

The lace system attracted me as its similar to the nike vapor system where you pull it tight and it locks in place so its still an idea.

Like you both said , try it and see when they get here eh.  Just trying to get all my ducks in a row

I used the DIY boot method on the forums here and am still able to lace up the boots underneath.

EC-17 and helmet chin cup ordered.

The blaster is getting made by mandomakes on FB in ASA and will have a button magnet installed in the LHS grip. This will then be matched with another magnet that will be placed in the boot , he's uk based.

Chin cup is optional even for lancer but for the very small cost it’s worth doing in case I need it to keep the bucket on.

Test fit with sweatshirt on to exaggerate sleeve thickness , looks really good with this , so with a slightly thinner flightsuit it’ll be fine.

went with an L

Well this , tiny update , has been a long time coming but life has a nasty habit of getting in the way.

EC-17 has arrived and has been slightly weathered , hopefully its ok and a button magnet has been glued to the front of the "trigger" guard ( will have corresponding one in the holster ) to help secure it as the plan is to sort a 19x/20a long term.  The magnet will have a dab of paint on it at some point if I need to.

The chin cup , I know is optional even for lancer but to be honest more wips ive seen have had them and it looks really cool and is an easy add once I eventually get the armour and soft goods , whenever that is... gonna be a long ride this eh.

Anyhoo here's a few pics

Cheers guys

Sweet Matt!  That's a pretty clean print.  He did a nice job embedding that magnet into the trigger guard too.  Lime you said, a little dab of paint and you'll never notice it.  Regarding the chin cup, as you said isn't required, but I personally find that it really helps keep my bucket from shifting around on my head.  My bucket is lined due to the main portion being fiberglass, so adding pads like most do wasn't really an option for me, but the chin straps does what it supposed to do.  YMMV.  The nice things is, if you find you don't like the feel of it, you can remove it without worrying about approval issues.  Looking forward to hearing the day when you put that order in for Chefs kit!

Yeah Dennis.  That was the plan.  I do much prefer the look with the cup , although it can be seen with the lid down but if it stops it shifting I’m all for it.

the scope is a little bit wobbly , courier companies and all that but I’m have gorilla glue and a gloss black touch up pen due tomorrow from Amazon so that’s not an issue.

re the armour ? Me too mate but I don’t mind waiting a little while if it means I can get myself squared away and everything  I have so far isn’t weight dependant so hopefully by the time I order from chefs I’ll be thinner

😂😂😂😂
