TB 10738 LANCER SPEC CLEARANCE (APPROVED)

Recommended Posts

I’m probably the worse critic of my own gear lol as I do strive for perfection lol .

Not great photos as it was a poor day in the Uk with the weather so had to take photos inside .

The kit felt good although I feel the cod does need to be replaced as I think it’s just to wide and that’s what’s making it bunch up a bit still .

The stirrups helped with the under suit .

Shoulder bells felt better.
Biceps correctly positioned better .

Bund again not playing nice , maybe with the new COD this can be fixed .

Hi Dave! My apologies for the late replies. My wife and I took a long overdue holiday and we’ve been caring for our grandparents so I’m running a little behind. I’ll get with the team and take a look at what you’ve done and we’ll get back to you soon.

Hi Dave! Thanks for being patient! Ok you've done a great job addressing most everything on your list and we have these few findings remaining:

Cummerbund
Bund appears to be tucked in to the belt. Ideally bund should sit on top of the belt. This typically happens during dressing. Recommend putting on your belt then "seating" the bund on top before dressing your chest/back armor.

Codpiece
Cod crunchies. Need to add stiffener and/or loosen the crotch strap a bit.

Dropboxes
These are looking a but too high after you adjusted them and need to be loosened. If you look at your left side profile above you can see they are resting against the belt.

The team created this side by side picture for you to have a better idea of how the bund and cod should look.

You're just about at the finish line and have done a marvelous job! Keep it up!

Thank you , I agree with everything the team has just said .

The drop boxes were lifted and measured but I didn’t take into the account of the angle of my thighs and the way the boxes should sit .
A quick fix and I will adjust them a bit lower down this time .

The cod I will try and re shape and starch it some more to see if that helps .

Yes bund and belt need adjusting and setting up better next time .
I think I understand better now what is required with regards to the bund and belt .
The belt must sit ontop off the cod and under the bund .
I found a great video and I think it makes more sense to me now .

That sounds great Dave. Thanks for getting those addressed. We’ll need a front, left and right side photos once you have everything ship shape in Bristol fashion.

You’ve done some amazing work and have just a few more items left to finish so keep it up!

Hi guys

New photos for LANCER clearance .

Adjusted the drop boxes .
Replaced the COD with one more suitable I think , it’s much better and doesn’t ruffle up so much.
Cummerbund, bund and belt I hope are better.

Thank you

Hi Dave! My apologies for the delayed response. Work has been a bit of a bugger of late so I'm behind.

The new cod is looking better but still needs a bit more to get you over the top. The cod itself needs to be shaped out using a bit of foam and here's how I fixed mine. I used an exacto knife to make two incisions on the back of cod above and below the arch then I shaped some soft thin foam pieces and pushed them inside and formed the cod. Then I hand sewed the opening shut and viola' a shaped cod. The other thing I did to help was to loosen the cod strap as I had it too tight. Check out the side by side pic that Chopper did below.

We are almost exactly the same here as this was the last thing I needed to do to get me over the line to get my Lancer.

The last touch is be careful of your belt and bund as they are drooping a little bit. This is a fitment issue and you just should need to pull them up a touch.

You've done an amazing job and should be very proud of your work! You are right there!

Brilliant feedback , thank you .
Yeh it felt so good on , the best it’s felt on so far .
I’m trooping on Sunday for the first time with my own garrison so I’m hoping to get some expert help in dressing so it’s perfect so won’t have time to alter the cod before hand but I would like to try and starch the new cod and loosen the crotch straps before cutting and adding some foam and so how it looks.
As for the bund and belt lol I feel it’s just where it should be as it’s comfortable although my little beer belly does make the bund and belt slip down a little, not sure what I can do about that unless I stop drinking and go for a jog lol .

As always thank you guys for your help , I feel like I’m on the line of completion and near perfection .

Just to clarify please

Basically fill in the red with foam on the inside of the cod ?

Hi Dave, the cod issue is two-fold:

1) Your new cod is too narrow. Your original cod was better in terms of width, but it crumpled too much.

2) Our suggestion is that you fill in the red marked areas on your original cod, which should hopefully stiffen it enough to stop crumpling when worn.

Ah ok thank you .

After the weekend I will get fixing this , I will fill both the original and my new CoD with foam and then this gives me a couple of options .

Thank you so much
