I was torn between buying armor and 3D printing, but with @MrPoopie's 3D files being recently released, I'm going the 3D printer route!

Armor and Helmet:  MrPoopie's 3D files (https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/patrol-trooper)

Jacket:  @StephTrooper (not ordered yet)

Pants: Uniform Warehouse (https://www.uniformswarehouse.com/striped-polyester-slacks-68986.html)

Boots:  TuffRider Men's Baroque Dress Boots (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YLQAXS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Gloves:  EndorFinders (https://www.endorfinders.com/costume-accessories/tfa-stormtrooper-gloves)

I'm doing a shadow patrol trooper.

Hahaha. These are getting coated with XTC-3D, then gray filler primer. After that they will be painted white!

Took 30 hours but here's one shoulder bell!

And can I just say I love the tree supports. They look so creepy.

Which slicer are you using that makes those supports?

Cura.  It's under "experimental" but they've worked great.  They use less filament and they break off very clean.

Are you using PETg?

No PLA unfortunately.  I'm just not set up properly in my condo for printing PETg or ABS.  I'm going to coat these parts with XTC-3D and then stay out of the sun :D

I just got the CR-6 put together so I am officially a print farmer!  And the first piece of gear I printed on it was a handplate.

Just a little update. I decided to switch to PETG for the big armor pieces and after some trial and error I've got my CR-6 pretty well dialed in. Making some good progress on the back armor

Which ender 3 did you start out using?

I have the CR-6 and the Ender 3 Pro.  I don't have the Ender 3 Pro fine tuned to print PETG yet, so I've only done PLA on it.

Glad to see you switch to PETg, PLA is no good for props in SoCal heat.

Yeah for sure.  Although I usually take summers off.  I let the new guys handle the heat :D  And if I thought I was going to melt, I'd probably just wear my Scout or Shoretrooper!

Got the back armor glued together. Got some gaps to fill and some sanding to do but it's nice to make some progress
