New and ready for building... but I can't decide!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I am new here... and I can't decide between a Kashyyyk Biker and a Shore Trooper. for my first build. I am armed with a 3D printer and some decent modeling skills, and there are Sean Field's and Mr. Paul's files for the Shore... But the Kashyyyk has the rad DC15S blaster (on the green one) and is availeable in white, and I have found at least partial files for it from which I can work further authored by Impirecontractor on thingieverse. Sure, those are only the outer shells, but solidifying them up is just some hours in blender and then making the overlaps and hinges and stuff... Wait a minute, did the stitching for the Torso yesternight...

Anyone has helpful insight for me or would work with me on either of the two projects?

The Shoretrooper definitely has more resources available to it.  Plenty of armor and soft goods makers, as well as a huge community of support.   The Kashyyyk is more limited in this regard, as we never seem to have more than 55 at any given time (I'm convinced any new Kashys we get actually bought old kits from ex-Kashys!)

Also many folks find the Kashyyyk soft goods very troublesome, especially the 16 pouch setup.

But we have a great Kashy armor team to help with your questions (@ferra and @Jakeputt) and @MrPoopie can answer your 3D printing questions.  So if you want to try something a bit more challenging, give the Kashy a go!  We could always use a few more.
