Also, I installed a chin strap into the bucket. While all I could find were football chin straps, where the chin cup is huge, I found a baseball helmet chin strap, which worked fantastic. Keeps the bucket in my head without any wobbling.

What did you use for a head mount?

I remember you said you were gonna try a few...

Also did you get all your extra stuff in there?

(My 2 fans + battery pack, & mic all fit in with my head mount but it's a tight fit... Also my head is the size of a huge watermelon ;) )

I've got nothing extra in there! I trooped in Tampa heat with no fan in a tusken, so I figured I could stand not to put it in. I've been spread pretty thin with our Disney trip this weekend and back over the for the rest if the week, I figured I would hold out til next paycheck!

I used one of the helmet pad sets. It works well, but does not hold my head the way I think it should to be secure, thus the chin strap. I used one in my tusken as well, and I've just gotten used to them.

Back to the drawing board. I was told my drop pouches need to be grey or lighter and not the same pattern as the rest of the camo. So weather with grey/white?

I need to redo the cummerbund, since the base is too dark. What do you think about putting the zipper on the side of the cummerbund? Easier to get dressed by yourself.

And I have to put a reflective green lens in. Any ideas where I can get a reflective green tint to out on the lens or a reflective green lens?

Ask you GML where it says the drop pouches say to be grey and NOT the same camo pattern... This is from the CRL:

* 2 drop boxes with 4 straps hung from belt and belt buckle

- are either cloth covered and painted with camo pattern or covered with multi-cam cloth

Everything should be misted grey/black/white, maybe this is why your GML thinks your drop pouches need to be grey

I can see having to redo the back colour but try just misting it with a lighter colour first... I like your idea for closing at the side, as long as its not noticeable

Didn't BC include a reflective green lens? Mine seems like it's proper...

We have green lenses, but they are not reflective lenses. They should look like the outside of polarized sunglasses. So that even when you take a picture in the dark lighting, you can still see the reflective green.

I was shown a screen grab where one of the pouches was a lighter grey, so I guess misting will solve the problem.

Yeah the cummerbund is a dark grey, not black, but you just can't go that dark. I tried match the sample pic we have, and thought I did so, but in the light/dark, mine is just too dark. I could try some fabric paint, but I'm afraid it will just turn crusty after a while. Now that I have the pattern and measurement, it shouldn't be too bad to make another.

Unfortunately I'm now on vacation until the end of the weekend, so all work will be suspended until I get back home.

Really? Grey drop pouches?? Um...no.

The belt and buckle are listed as grey.

Why don't any of the GML's ever consult with us?

I've read, re-read, and even looked at the CRL that I helped with.

And the camo pattern can be the same. The dang clones painted them all the same.

I have some of the reflective green tint. Well, I have a couple of pieces left. I think they are the appropriate size.

I'll send them to you Brent, and if you could get a piece over to Tim. (At least I hope you are in the same area.)

How's that? B)

You may be accepted even without doing the grey or the reflective. Tim and I have the same GML, so we will have the same requirements, but you may not. I would check with yours first to see their preference.

Matt, do you think a zip up on the side would work, since I have to do it again anyway? Would help getting dressed by myself.

It could work. I have never tried it like that. (Have a Garrison buddy zip you up.)

But, around that area, it could work like the back pouches. Since they cover up the separation of the cummerbund on the back, the small side pouches could do the same. Or have the separation between the pouches. Your arm and the armor should cover the other parts.

Have a go at it and see how it turns out.

Yeah by brother is in with me and troops when I do, but I sound like my wife, saying zip me up! I think I'm going to try to put it on the side and hide the zipper behind one of the grey straps.

Zipping in the side, while seemed like a good idea at the time, comes with a host of issues, mainly, it does not want to hold on your body as well as being done in the back. Also, the gap under the back of the tank, after the initial lip, allows the zipper to sit well. On the side, since I'm guessing a few pounds could be shed by myself, caused the zipper head to push right into my ribs. Good thing I figured this out with old fabric before starting on new one.
