ROTJ Scout Trooper 2022 CRL Update - the Open Collar!
Sithlord337 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Announcements
Understood, but in the same way as the collar is currently an option, eventually disappearing I imagine, the chin cup is an odd one to keep in it seems. Believe me, I think it is actually kinda cool and a chin strap does help for sure, but the evidence seems to point towards them either ditching them for filming or that they were never there. Still excellent that pathfinders are always striving for the small details and improving the CRLs after all this time. Who knows, with a certain anniversary around the corner, maybe LFL might dig a suit or 2 from the archives Sent from my ELE-L09 using Tapatalk -
ROTJ Scout Trooper 2022 CRL Update - the Open Collar!
Sithlord337 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Announcements
So how about we look at those chin cups? You say you love accuracy Mikey, so let's explore. Is there any on screen visual reference of one existing or actually the oppposite? Seems that the starwarshelmets.com reference is the only showing for this anomally -
Pouches To scale up or not?
Sithlord337 replied to Sithlord337's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Ok thanks guys, standard size it is then. I shall just make sure eveything is exactly to the maximum -
Hi, I have all the materials needed now to complete my scout, however a few anomolies are present and I thought I'd check before making everything. My bund needs to be 10" wide to allow for some material to tuck under the back and front armour and still cover my expanded belly! This is obviously slightly over size from what the measurement suggestions are on most builds nowadays. This leaves a slightly larger expanse (approx 8 1/2") of bund between belt and chest armour. In the spirit of looking 'right', would it be prudent to scale the pouch sizes up slightly? The pouches are not going to sit on or near the belt by the time the tabs sit slightly under the armour etc. Appreciate your thoughts.

Managed to get hold of some mercerised cotton, which just looks like normal cotton to my untrained eye. Certainly not the same as my bund which was supplied by Chef which appears to be a nylon type of material and slightly waterproof almost. If we are going by the CRL, I'm guessing I can safely change my bund and cod to the new material. Several trips to fabric suppliers have drawn a blank on the flak vest material too so not having much luck. What can we safely use? Black twill, heavy cotton or should it have some flex/stretch to it? We aren't averse to buying ready made but trying to help a friend financially and mentally by giving her something to focus on. Any guidance appreciated

Yep aware of both, have Chefs kit for me but trying to help out a seamstress who wants to give it a go for my partners biker. If no luck I will be going to Chef anyway

Ok, on the hunt for the right materials to use. Must be UK links for: Bund, vest and pouches. Think I have a handle on the flightsuit and suede so no worries yet. Also, heavyweight vinyl for boots. Recommend away....thanks

Hi chaps, can this topic be closed? I have sold the armour on, hopefully to someone who will be able to actually complete the build. I have decided to do an OT scout now as everything needed is readily available. Thanks for your help on this one Sent from my ELE-L09 using Tapatalk

I am currently discussing the same thing as I am in the UK. I think a UK supplier would be excellent for the jacket and trousers, although as there are so few Patrol Troopers, I'm not sure how cost effective it might be

🤣😂 I feel your pain! I just need to get mine on to get an idea if it will fit at all! 🙄
-
Thanks both. So guessing @Hask you step into your ab section. @Ruthar, I'd be interested to see exactly how yours splits. Can't quite see it in the WIP.
-
So I've been investigating doing the flexible ab modification, but I think I need some clarification on just how to put the suit on! Can anyone do a suit up guide or explain it a bit please? Does the ab section stay roughly complete with belt attached and then chest and back slips over etc? Confused! Also, can anyone give me the correct paints to do the helmet to match Armory Shop colours. Thanks guys

Definitely a modification worth doing I think. Do they do that width of elastic in white I wonder? I will certainly need it for ease and comfort. Thanks
-
Thanks Kris, so I don't think it will have enough flex for that unfortunately. It will fit me once on I think. Is it acceptable to cut along the diagonals and add some elastic possibly just to make sure? How does answers to enquiries work? Do we have to stick to one WIP and armourer? I imagine it may be you for both, but seems silly asking and answering twice. Would this WIP be more of an update on progress rather than a full WIP?

A couple of photos of the kit. I know Denis sizes kits to measurements, but hoping this will be close enough for me. Should I put my WIP on the UKG forum too by the way? Thanks Sent from my YAL-L21 using Tapatalk
