  1. I like it! Looks great.
  2. Thanks Retro! Looking forward to a Meet & Greet with the Garrison.
  3. BUILD PARTS LIST2 Helmet: Altmann (Ordered 8/20 - Received 1/6) Armor: Altmann (Ordered 8/20 - Received 1/6) Under suit: KriptonTop (Ordered 8/22 - Received 10/26) Balaclava: Ebay (Ordered 8/27 ) Flak Vest: KriptonTop (Ordered 8/22 - Received 10/26) Cummerbund/Cod/Pouches: KriptonTop (Ordered 8/22 - Received 10/26) Boots: Cheesewhoopy (Ordered 8/22 - Received 1/24) Gloves: Wampa Wear (Ordered 8/20 - Received 8/26) Blaster: 7CS (Ordered 8/21 - Received 9/12) OPTIONAL BUILD PARTS Helmet Audio System: Ukswraths (Ordered 8/21 - Received 8/25) Here is the current list of parts ordered for my Scout Trooper build. I have researched and come to the conclusion that these suppliers offered the best options for my build. Order/Receive dates will be included for an overall idea of these vendors turn around times. Updates/Reviews of the ordered parts to follow as they trickle in. **I did read about the past issues that KriptonTop had on the forums years ago! However, judging by his current stellar feedback & product reviews from his Esty store, & his soft parts being custom tailored to fit my exact dimensions, I went that route. I have a pretty non-standard fit type, so this is pretty important to me. It seemed a majority of the issues was with the shipping times or communication vs. the quality of his work, so I made sure to include Tracked FedEx as the delivery option with a Paypal Buyers Protection backup. Thanks Everyone!
  4. I decided to go with a fully complete tailored soft armor set for myself, however I will be more then happy to get you some and send it your way if you like.
  5. OK, I wasn't sure because the Dark Graphite looks to match the reference pictures closer but I will get black. Just an example of my OCD 😆 Thanks Chopper.
  6. Hello everyone! Working on the detail this morning, sourcing the proper parts for my build. After looking at the reference photos of the suede patches for the thighs/flap, I noticed that the color really looks closer to a dark graphite rather then black. I just want to make sure I pick the right color so I don't have to do it over, as I am going to source this part out to a local seamstress. The CRL's don't mention color specifically so I thought I would ask the pros. Reference pictures and Dark Graphite pig suede pictures for reference:
  7. Thank you, I don't believe he would either!
  8. It has been my hobby the last few days to just sit and ready all Lancer submissions, specifically paying attention to the corrections that need to be made and feedback given. Being furloughed right now, I have a lot of down time. 🤣
  9. Oh I am the king of questions and getting stuff right & uniform.... I swear the Army gave me OCD. LOL Thank you for the welcome! I was a little worried about the larger scaled armor, but figured that uniforms are tailored to fit the wearer, who is to say the armor wasn't either?
  10. OK.... I did it! I purchased my first armor kit in over 2 Decades!! Hello everyone, My name is Nathan from Tucson, AZ. I am a former member of the 501st from the late 1990's during the founding of the Cloud City Garrison in Portland, OR. I remember trooping Episode 1 in 1999 and many other events prior to that... Dang I just realized how old I am now...UUGGGHHH! My old 501st member number was TK-154, if that gives you a little time stamp on it LOL. I clearly remember wearing my TK armor, and I knew I wasn't going that route again!! Being 6'2" and 235lbs with a "stocky" build, it was hard for me to pull off a lot of costumes to keep the group and myself looking correct. You don't want your Stormtrooper towering over Vader LOL. So, I had narrowed it down to two other armored characters that I have wanted to wear (Vader & Scout Trooper) and chose a TB as my first build being back. Now for full disclosure this isn't my first Scout build. I actually built one in 2002 as a display in my home, but never wore it. I don't remember what armor I used at the time, but I do remember using an Altmann's Officially Licensed 1 of 500 Helmets, which I loved! So I contacted Spike and he was very helpful with the process. Needless to say, I will be receiving a set of Altmanns Armor & Helmet to start off my "Big & Tall" Scout Trooper build. I will be continuing researching and sourcing my best options for everything needed for this build. My plan is to build it right the first time, using the parts needed to achieve Lancer status without having to redo anything. I will keep updating my build list and progress as I go along.
  11. Come on man.... I'm just getting one thing started here LOL. 😅 I can live without the neck seal...I just thought it was interesting that it was screen used but not an approved thing is all.
  12. OK, thanks for the clarification. I wont buy one, even though I like em, because I don't want to be "that guy". LOL
  13. Good, because the Darkside promised cookies as an enlistment bonus & I plan on collecting LOL
  14. Oh I know I could do it.... My concern is trooping with other TB's and having my armor seem "off" lol. I know it all will scale out when I wear it, but if I am standing next to another TB wearing, lets say SC, the looks would be massive IMHO. But like I said, it may just be me over thinking it.... Happens on everything I do.
  15. Yeah, I have been talking to Spike. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I actually owned one of his 1 of 500's back in 2003ish.
  16. Would it be frowned upon if worn? I will most likely not get it just to keep things uniform and to Lancer, but I personal like it and think its a great thing to be included as an optional part. But that's just my thoughts, especially since it can be seen used on screen.
  17. Doing more research I noticed that this reference photo that has been commonly used on the forums clearly shows a ribbed neck covering similar to TK armor. Is this correct? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get all my ducks in a row for sourcing parts for the build.
  18. You can see the difference in our shoulders, just as reference.
  19. Right now I am weighing Scout or Vader. I will more then likely do both, but which one to do first. I am pretty OCD about uniformity and appearance, years in the Army will do that to you LOL. I did my research and saw that the height listed for a TB was 6', so being 6'2" would be a close match. My main concern is being so broad shouldered, I don't want too much black space between my hard armor pieces. I'm sure I am way over thinking it, but that's just the way I am LOL. Not to mention being middle aged, my middle section isn't aging well LOL. Don't want too much sticking our past my chest armor if you know what I mean. I will add a picture of me standing next to my father for reference.
  20. Yeah.... I'm not squeezing myself into that TK stuff now, It wouldn't be a pretty sight. I'm sure someone makes a little bigger TK armor now though for us large framed troopers.
  21. OK, Thank you. I just spotted it myself and I was like wait a min here!!! LOL
  22. Hello everyone, I am new to the forum but not new to wearing armor. Used to be a 501st member back in early 2000's. My old number was TK-154 if that give it a time reference LOL. I haven't worn armor in about 20 years or so. I'm currently looking to complete a Scout Trooper and get back into after my 2 decade break. I'm sure this has been spotted already, but I was researching the different armor for what will fit my larger build (6'2" 235) to make sure uniformity is the same. I was watching a video of the "go for help" scene from ROTJ and I spotted this and wasn't sure if it had been addressed already. I haven't seen any posts here or it hasn't come up on internet searches. It's a very quick scene and could easily be overlooked but not from you guys for sure. Anyway..... Hello everyone!
