  1. I will keep going and see what it finishes like. I get frustrated sometimes because of my size... I have the same size chest as David Prowse, 52". Imaging him shoved into TB armor LOL.
  2. I would be open to that, but the parts are painted. I will just keep chugging along I guess and see what the final outcome is.
  3. Got the covers made for the bridge. The armor has to be fully closed to make it work but that's leaving my tank at a real wicked angle. But I dont have any other choice... The armor just isnt big enough for my frame. Looks like I might not be a TB after all 😥
  4. Hey, is the cloth material that covers the bridge seam elastic?
  5. I think I will wait until I add the side elastic, that might pull everything together properly.
  6. The bottom of the armor isn't wide enough to sit any closer to my back. It's like its pinching on me.... Only other option would be to heat it up to try and open it up a little more I guess.
  7. Yes, I can move the bridge around but the issue is the gap. It just doesn't seem like the connection point on the back armor is long enough to reach the front armor without causing the tank to be all jacked up at an angle.
  8. Uuggghhh.... I think I have too big of a chest for scout armor! Its the Big and Tall armor offered by Altmann. I'm already spacing the armor joint out to its limits with being able to cover the joint with the fabric. The tanks still not straight yet and the joints pushed back too far on my shoulders to align my shoulder bells properly. What should I do?
  9. Got a little more time to work on my back and chest armor. Here is my progress on that so far.... Used and old license plate I had in a box from my move. Took my snips and made some 1.5" wide bridges... Bent into shape... Added Velcro strips to both side of the bridges... Drilled 1/8" inches holes into the top of both bridges... Drilled 1/8" holes into the center of both zip ties after cutting off the locking end... Riveted both zip ties to the bridges using 1/8" rivets... Fully covered the remaining middle section in Velcro... Look the opposite side of the Velcro, attached to bridge and tripped excess... Then I removed the trimmed Velcro, cut in half and attached to the back and front of the armor and placed bridge into place... Still have some finishing work to do, adding foam tape to the underside of the bridge that rests on your shoulders. But I am happy with the outcome so far.
  10. These were the last 2 in the Portland area... There were only 2 others within 200 miles of me. So maybe they they are getting rid of stock and discontinued them here?
  11. Had some time to start sewing my straps today. Man I hate sewing!
  12. Home Depot was having a sale.... 2 for $100.... One for Scout, One for Vader.
  13. White Armor Pioneer LOL
  14. Yeah, I'm just saying what worked for us back in the day before we had kits availiable to buy. We had zero feedback issues and our mics where practically attached to the back of the speaker and were pointed right at our mouths. Hell, we made the static burst noise after we spoke by blowing a puff of air into the mic and it actually sounded pretty good lol.
  15. Yeah, I installed mine and I am really not thrilled about it. Its way to quiet to really be effective at all. I remember back in the old days (2000), we cut holes in out TK helmets behind the black chin piece between the 2 aerators (which was a separate piece), and glued on a 1.5-2" speaker on the inside of the helmet behind the hole we cut. Then we attached the chin piece back on the helmet to cover the hole. We built little ABS covers over the speaker using the spare ABS material and hot glued the microphone on top of the cover. We never got feedback issues with it because the speaker was solidly mounted to the helmet as well as the microphone. That eliminated any movement between the 2 components, which is usually the reason for the feedback. So I may purchase another microphone to attach solidly inside the helmet and give it a shot that way.
  16. Anyone here sell the elastics, cotton webbing, and buckle's for the scout armor? Thought I would check here before I go browsing the fabric stores with the old ladies LOL.
  17. That I will let ya know, I just mounted the speaker system in the front of the helmet. I am waiting on helmet pads to get here before I finish mounting the rest in the helmet.
  18. Got my stuff from Spike today, Woohoo. Had a little bit of time to work on the helmet getting the Ukswrath's helmet audio system mounted in the helmet. Looking forward to working on the rest.
  19. Looks like Spike got my armor out in the Mail today should be here pretty soon but expect a delay from USPS because of the holiday. My boots by Cheesewhoopy also got delayed because of illness in his family, but he said that he is finishing them up next week. So, looks like I will finally be able to start the assembly process soon... Longer wait then anticipated, but I hope it is worth it.
  20. Soft parts all look good, but really can't get a good feel until it all comes together. I am kind of in a holding pattern, still waiting on my past due armor and boots. Hopefully they will be here soon so I can start putting it all together.
  21. My soft good from KriptonTop arrived today at my parents house back in Oregon. I will be packed and heading that way to assist my family in this time of need. I will inspect, try on, and give you my thoughts when I get settled in. As for buying them from KriptonTop, so far it has been a pleasant experience with only a small week delay from the promised quoted completion time on his Esty page. Only parts waiting on are my boots from Cheesewhoopy and my helmet and armor from Spike.
  22. I am planning on using standard helmet padding.....
  23. Looks like my soft parts from KriptonTop are in the mail and slated to arrive at my parents house back in Oregon in a week. Looking forward to seeing them.
  24. Cant wait for my armor to arrive from Spike so I can get started, wait time window is up, hopefully very soon. I also have the Ukswrath Biker Scout audio system that I am putting in too.
  25. It has been over 2 decades since I wore armor that had green lenses. However, I remember using green welding mask material (the common mod in those days). Maybe take the lenses out and have the inside window tinted. This should give the overall same green color to the outside while darkening them up some so your eyes aren't visible. Here is an example of the welding mask material we used...
