  1. well ladies and gentlemen. im done. all i have left is to get on the current group buy for a ec-17 and its complete. havent done a wear with everything yet but i just finished the boots about 20 minutes ago, i want to let it all settle before i put them on... thank you @Chopper for the lead on the rivet gun, as well as you, @Retrofire and @AradunFF ordering the @Darth Voorhees blaster this weekend. and ill post pictures all suited up sans blaster this weekend as well!
  2. thanks man, ive been starring at that CRL booty all morning.. since the riding patch is a different size i was kinda playing with that proportion but ya looks like from your edited picture i need to trim about an inch+ off the sides.. ill keep the length and if it needs to be adjusted ill do that then since i cant add after its gone..im working on the boots now too. i predict that by next weekend ill be posting up pictures here for submission critiques! ...as soon as i find a rivet gun for the holster...😒
  3. alright, so this sunday im starting off with getting the mud flap correct before sewing. the 1st picture has contrast adjusted so you guys can see it all better, second pic is it off with the measurement.. i think it needs to be narrower and shorter but not sure how much...
  4. off topic from this build but just wanted it because its cool to have, my remnant/child bag came in this weekend, got all the stuff from amazon which should be in this coming week to complete it, rank bar from etsy should be in 2-3 weeks..
  5. @Retrofire i think i got it right, what do you think? my vest sleeves arent tight enough to hold the bicep armor so its definitely gonna need velcro... might get away with none on the forearm though.. in the second picture things started moving around on me while my wife took pics... but from what you posted above i think this is correct...
  6. still playing with armor fit...for the bicep and forearm armor im kinda scratching my head at exact placement.. looking at afew approved WIP its all just alittle different imo and the CRL doesnt have a side shot... for the bicep armor if your looking at the wearers side, should it be facing the viewer or rolled slightly forward or back? also the greeble end of it, does that portion of the armor stop above the elbow or at the elbow? the different would be that if the elbow is bent at 90degrees does the white portion of the armor extend past the elbow..meeting the bottom of the forearm? or above.. for forearm armor, over the gloves seems common should it line up with the "v" stitching in the glove?
  7. any recommendations for how to get velcro onto the flight suit for the knee, bicep and fore arm armor? are you guys using glue or hand sowing the patches of velcro on? and since its hidden does it matter what color velcro for those all they have here is sage/olive drab...
  8. spent the quiet sunday working on my ewok stompers...got them 1/2 done. going to finish them up next weekend then start more work on armor placement...
  9. hey just ordered the bag and im about to get on amazon to buy the belt and D rings. for the chicago screws what size are they for the holes on the belt/strap? if you got an amazon link that would be super helpful as well. skimmed through this post and didnt seem to find the size of the screws just that they are needed... thanks in advance..
  10. some updates from today... nothing picture worth yet but adjusted the belt boxes to be higher and more on my sides, put Styrofoam in the 'bund pouches to fill them out, and put black Velcro on the insides of most of the armor in prep for fitament and keeping it all in place, its not seen when wearing the armor. what do you guys typically use for the detonator, it has clips but anything else to keep it from falling off? also i'm assuming most of you do use velcro to keep armor in place on the arms and knees correct?
  11. ugh well guess whos back finally with some progress! had a big problem with an esty seller...search forums before you buy! then the local seamstress thought it would be cool to have other customers as her priority vs my coverall mods.... well this week it finally all came together. steph's imperial outfitters picked up the slack from the bad esty seller. at this point the only thing that needs to be made/bought is the blaster and boots. below is a VERY test fit with some of the armor on, knee pads need velcro on the jumpsuit.. i think the webbing on the belt pouches need to be adjusted? also the shoulder bells need to come up... this thread will be picking back up every weekend as i finally fit it all to me...st
  12. ok, boot kit came in.... need alot of opinions...or..fix ideas...i dont know... i'm frustrated......full disclosure, i sent the maker these pics as well, dunno if i measured wrong or something or it was made wrong..... looking at the CRL and approved pictures here im stuck..it seems like the "tube" of the boot is to tight? i wore dickies to sim the flight suit (still getting sown up) around my calf they feel tight. another area of HUGE concern is the SC holster.. because of the boot tube diameter and my skinny #%% the holster doesnt seem like its possible at all that it would fit..can i not be a scout because of this/being so skinny?
  13. boot kit has shipped..... and the esty seller.......lets just stay before you buy from sellers it pays to do a search on here...... still waiting on the seamstress to finish the coveralls....
  14. still waiting on all the stuff i ordered...my armor is sitting in a rubbermade box since i received it, no point in fitting it all up with out everything else...ugh... covid/political climate in Bolivia is setting the soft armor etsy order behind greatly... no update on the boot kit yet... called the seamstress for an update "oh the black coveralls you wanted all the stuff done that's laying on my table in pieces?" .....she sounded happy lol
  15. still here... waiting for the flight suit tailoring locally, soft armor from kripton, and boot kit from cheesewhoopy...... 😕 the price of not DIYing it i guess.
  16. thanks for showing that in pictures @Omaha Joe ! was it the cutting wheel you used or the saw attachment to remove it? and can you share what "grey"/brand paint you used?
  17. i did the same but due to lack of free time i opted to order my 'bund and flak and took my suede and cover alls to a seamstress i also ordered a boot kit...that was a few weeks ago and as of right now still waiting on the 'bund/flak, last email had it shipping *maybe* beginning of august, seamstress will *maybe* have it done by end of july, and no word on boots yet..im growing impatient as my armor just arrived this weekend...sucks but not wanting to buy a sowing machine and learn myself, there is more than a monetary cost...as aradunFF said...extended wait times...........kinda frustrating but i keep reminding myself that these people also do it as a hobby to help the potential scouts and its not their full time jobs, as well as current virus stuff slowing down shipping.... if you want to venture out and learn to sow and buy a machine do it.
  18. the curve fits me well, the plastic belt fit seems good but ill know better when the 'bund ever gets here, thanks for the excellent communication and customer service! if this goes well and i do a tusken raider next youll be my go to for that as well! ive been walking around wearing the helmet all day lol
  19. awwww yeah!!! armor arrived today! my redkap coveralls are currently getting made to spec at the seamstress, kripton top soft goods will hopefully be here end of august, and @cheesewhoopy boot kit is on order as well.. im not gonna mess to much with adjustments till atleast the coveralls get back. armor is @StudioCreations . it got held up in atlanta for about 3 days and i was getting worried but it all looks great! i need to figure out the bicep/forarm armor situation for skinny dudes like myself... in just a tshirt there is alot of play in the forearm and bicep armor... like... they slide down to my hand..
  20. in this picture my right legs patch does look alittle sorter but in the pic there are 2 factors playing into it, the rest of the cloth is doing this weird roll thing around my leg making it look shorter then the left, and i always lean more on my left leg because of a hip surgery on my right leg. i just rechecked it all and at the bottom they are the same length, just a bad picture. im gonna take your guys advice and after i type this up i'm gonna make a template to get the curves perfect...they are a little off. for the curve should i duplicate the right or left top curve, which one is a better curve? for the overall length of the patch, in reference to the knee, i picked about an in between between what ive seen in the CRL and what i've seen in approved WIP. some stop before the knee pad some dont...to be honest this is one of the things ive worried about with it all, more so than the curve at the top. again, thanks guys for the help, sorry to be "that guy" asking a million questions
  21. @AradunFF thanks for all the input, tomorrow im gonna look at it again and try to get those lines at the top perfect. i think the left leg might be slightly off the more i look at it.
  22. round 2... curved the top portion on the front and raised the thigh straps..ive had hip surgery and lean to my left some but its all even..
  23. thanks for the tip, i wasnt sure how to go about that
  24. thanks @AradunFF and @BikerScout007 ill redraw the top curves and move the thigh straps up and take another pic tomorrow
  25. rog, its difficult to do all this without everything and im not known for my patience haha i shake christmas and bday boxes. so would it be safe to say roughly up about 1/2 an inch?
