My wife is 5’4” and wears a XS-S shirt: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I understand that, printing a full armor can definitely be a big ask, but you can always asks and offer compensation... As an alternate option, you can always purchase a kit and print out just shins? Scary guy has a BSP kit for which he shortened his shins, you can see that process here: The chest and back piece can be pretty flexible, I have worked with three different ABS kits as well as the Jimi Fiberglass kit, I would say the smallest of the ones I have seen is Imperial Surplus. I am interested in knowing the size of the BSP kit and maybe @ScaryGuyor @KOtroopercan comment on the fit for that kit. Other vendors may be found in this link, it might be worth reaching out them all to discuss your dimensions and potential fit. I will take some pictures of my wife with my chest armor so you can have a better point of reference.

So vendors such as 850 and Imperial Surplus make ABS vac formed kits. They make those kits to fit a wide range of people but do not customize their items to an individual. ABS can be modded to get a better fit, and even some of the people in this forum have shortened the length of the shins from an ABS kit. Of those two kits, I believe Imperial Surplus makes a smaller kit I am 5'7" and have a mostly Imperial Surplus kit, but you can certainly reach out to both vendors to see what they think. If you have access to a 3d printer you can print the items at a smaller/larger scale depending on your size.

Welcome!!! Looking forward to seeing you on the beach with us!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Woohoo! Grats on getting back at it!!! Ot will be worth it! Careful with that trim, especially the upper part, you don’t want to make that section less wide than the buckle!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Keep it up! You got this trooper!!!

That looks awesome, nice work!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hiya! Looking forward to your build!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmmmm I’m no expert with the kit, but it looks to me like what you highlighted in red is possibly the side attachments for the front chest armor. Maybe someone more familiar with the kit can chime in. Most kits do not bring the skirt armor.

Hiya and welcome! That is a very loaded question! I always say that when choosing a Kit, a lot of it is going to depend and your budget, what materials you like working with(ABS, 3D prints, Fiberglass), and desired lvl of accuracy. Most kits that have been vetted here will need some amount of modding to get them to be approvable, but that’s part of the fun! The guys have compiled a list of vendors which have been used for approvals: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19024-shoretrooper-vendor-list/ My suggestion would be go over the WIPs found in this site, browse over all of them, to get a better idea what the strengths and weaknesses of each are, reviewing the wips you will also give you a chance to better understand what mods you are comfortable doing and which you are not. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/129-shoretrooper-wip/ I personally have experience with Imperial Surplus (ABS), MBSB (3D printed), and Jim Tripon (Fiberglass) kits. They are all great! Some more accurate than others and some easier to work with, but that depends on you. Go over the wips, it’s honestly the best start IMO. Also reach out to different vendors, see which kit would fit your size better and which one fits your budget better! We are here if you need us for specific question, and above all, have fun!

If you have opted against the Nordic Blue, montana “himalaya” has been used by many to get through approval. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup, it’s used quite a bit to smooth out 3d printed parts, but works well on casts too. Essentially you will add 1-2 coats, then sand/wet sand, and repeat this process until you get the desired smooth finish! If you decide to go this route make sure to tape of the areas that you will be gluing, such as the blast shield, you want glue to adhere to the raw cast not filler primmer... It can be tedious work, but definitely worth it IMO!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This! Also not sure of it just dusty but it looks like it has good amount of surface imperfections, you can try filler primer until you get everything nice and smooth. This is common in some casts. I have done that for all my casts parts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup! The guys put out a really good list for the paints, found here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19926-recommended-shoretrooper-paints/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome! And grats on starting your build, fun times ahead! I don’t have experience with IB strapping, it looks pretty good. I personally like doing my own strapping, that way it is customized to my size and armor set. As an alternate option, Stefan has a really good video on he he did his: Let us know how it goes of you decide to get it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awesome!!! Lol I wouldn’t be too concerned with the pants, you can always wear some suspenders to keep them high and tight! Awesome progress! Looking forward to seeing more!

Hey Alex! Looks like you have been putting in work! Nice work on the bucket! I find it oddly satisfying grinding out some resin!!! For the Kama, is there a way to get it to sit a bit lower? Ideally you want it sitting around where the top strap would be. Nice work cutting the shins, the front looks much better. Are the sides of the shins a bit uneven? Can’t really tell by the pic. As far as your sniper knee; I am not familiar with your kit. I would be a bit hesitant of cutting out the top part, maybe creating a horizontal notch where the sniper covering can slide in to? That way you could get adhesion top and bottom? Maybe someone more familiar can chime in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The snaps for the pouch do not go through the abs, as they would be visible from the outside. I made some anchors putting the snaps through some webbing then gluing the webbing with the snap to the inside of the ab section. I do have snaps going through the abs but those are to attach the skirt armor. For those i drilled holes in the abs and put the snap through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So... I wrapped them with a rubber band and boiled them for about 15 minutes. They are still pretty rigid and it definitely reshaped them. I would say it’s probably not a terrible idea for the shins, but maybe not for the shoulders... Also, don’t apply as much pressure as I did... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did not attach the IS ones but others have with no issues. MPSB ones are way more flexible, definitely not as rigid. They are a similar material but not the same. You could try boiling the IS ones a bit? Maybe they will soften up? Actually, since i am not using them, let me try first so you don’t mess them up, I will report back.
