  1. Great catches, I'll add those to the list
  2. There's a guy from my hometown who his selling the last of his custom resin helmets. He goes by Luna Armor Works on FB and I haven't seen any of his stuff reviewed. I'm not a fan of how my SC helmet looks but this one is very affordable since I can get it in person and it's pre built. Do you think the proportions look right? I feel like the visor is a little wide https://www.facebook.com/lunaarmorworks/
  3. Oh wow thank you for the heads up! Yeah I actually really don't want to go through all the trouble. Are EFX helmets hard to come by?
  4. Since Walt's Trooper Factory seems to be a popular choice as a literal screen accurate helmet, I was wondering how other remnant scouts have been feeling with the service and effort involved. For the same price as a fully built helmet, I could buy a WTF helmet as I really do enjoy the look of it the best. I've found some assembly guides but what have people's experience been lately with this kit? Is it difficult? How has communication with WTF been lately? Also, I've always used SC armor so I've never spraypainted any before. If I built a kit, what colors/combos do people recommend? I'm just trying to get an idea before I commit. Thanks
  5. I'm considering making the jump from ROtJ to the Mandalorian but before I do, I want to see how much work would be involved in my conversion. I was wondering if anyone who has completed their builds have anything to add and I can update the list. - Neck Seal with ribs added - The flight suit is a Tie Pilot not a scout trooper - All elastic straps are between 3/4" and 1" - Chest armor does not have cloth that hides the connection to the back armor - Cummerbund and codpiece are once one assembly and hangs below chest armor - Inverted rear parachute buckles - Rank stripes removed from tank - Upper elastic o knee armor is removed along with the rivet - Pouches connect not from a flap but more of a "droop" style to the waist - Sandy weathering Did I miss anything major? I just want to be able to know the work/cost involved before jumping in
  6. @TKZombie Did you apply the acrylic paints to the cummerbund and pockets in the same way you did with the armor? Also, how has the weathering been holding up? Does is smear or rub off after use?
  7. I know it's been posted before but I can't seem to find recommendations for a good carrying bag for a scout helmet. I'm buying a nicer one and want to make sure it stays safe during storage. Does anyone have any good recommendations off amazon?
  8. I lost a ton of weight so I had to make some alterations but I think the new boots are looking great. I'm sending in some resubmission photos. I have a new rubber blaster but I need some additional tools to bend some metal for a magnetic hand guard
  9. I absolutely love SC's armor, but personally I like the look of other helmets better. I'm looking at getting an Altman from Spike since the shiny ABS plastic should blend well with my SC armor. Also, it looks like it doesn't take much work to assemble. From what I'm reading people love Altman especially for larger/taller builds. I have the opposite problem, I'm thin and 5"5 and don't want a bobble head haha. Here is my SC helmet. The size seems to fit me well And here I am trying on a KS helmet (looks a bit bigger). I'm worried that an even larger bucket will be too much. But then again maybe I'm over thinking it Are there any smaller troopers out there who have made Altman work?
  10. Do you happen to have a picture?
  11. Interesting read. I only skimmed it but I'll have to take a second look. From what I gathered it looks like the cummerbund is now two separate pieces? Just curious what would need to be changed with a new one.
  12. Thanks again. One more question, since now is my chance before I rivet on the holster, if I were to get a CFO, RS, or Mon Cal holster, would they also fit the blaster? The holster I have does feel really big on me, and this might be a good opportunity to find a smaller fitting holster that fits my size (I'm a little short for a stormtrooper haha).
  13. So a few years ago, I had a blast building my biker scout kit. I only got to do one troop and I haven't trooped since. It's been a rough few years. Things are finally looking better and the silver lining to this virus is that I've had lots of time off and I want to seriously get back into trooping! I'm on reserve so hopefully I can get active status again soon! Here is my original WIP post: First of all, this is something I should have done when I first built my armor, but I got a new sewing machine (as well as a wife haha) to sew some velcro that will attach to the underside of the chest and back armor. I used high temp hot glue to glue the hook to the armor. No more cummerbund slipping! Also, my boots have totally fallen apart. I saw a sale on Imperial Boots and got a pair (left side). They are way more durable feeling and light weight. I also had to get another SC holster since my old one cracked along the edges. They cracked because I used a 1/16" shank on the pop rivets which was too tight. I found some short 1/8" shank pop rivets as well as washers that I tested and they will be much better. I haven't assembled the holster yet because I might get a DVH blaster on his next run, and I want to make sure I set the magnets in properly. Lastly, I want to make the detonator more secure. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the clips from slipping off easily?
  14. Awesome thanks. I've heard it fits well for an sc holster? Now I have to either be patient for the blaster or go ahead and modify my new holster to fit my pre-existing one.
  15. Thanks so much. Yeah I better wait then. I heard there is another magnet in the tip?
  16. Great review! Where exactly are the DVH magnets located? I'm working on a holster and I'm not sure where to magnetize it yet.
  17. Do you happen to have any pictures of you magnet setup? I don't have DVH yet but I"m not sure how to magnetize my new sc holster in preparation for it
  18. That makes sense. My cummerbund is separate from the pockets so I may have to sew those together
  19. I've been looking at some builds and a problem I keep running into is my cummerbund keeps falling down from under the chest armor. I saw some solutions a long time ago but can't seem to find them again. I personally like using snaps, but I don't want to sew anything crazy into my cummerbund and ruin it. Does anyone have some solutions to keep it tucked under the armor? Maybe velcro? Thanks all!
  20. Someone else also linked me to Praetorian Blasters. It looks like they do what Hyperfirm used to do
  21. Thanks. Yep that's what made me want to check.
  22. So in the past I've trooped with some blasters that I've made myself but I'm always worried about them getting damaged, and I don't want to stress about breaking things as I troop. I've looked through some of the vendors who make blasters but I can't find the ones that make "soft" blasters, meaning they are made out of a rubber-y material. It looks like Hyperfirm and HfX Productions are out of business? They were the two that I saw making foam/rubber blasters but it doesn't look like it anymore. Any leads would be appreciated in finding a soft/durable scout pistol or dlt-19/dlt-19x
  23. After a two year hiatus, I'm finally back and excited to troop again. I'm going through and upgrading my scout build. I have only trooped 3 times but in that time my home made biker boots have completely fallen apart. I was wondering how durable Imperial Boots are. I know they aren't "lancer" accurate but that doesn't bother me. What I'm looking for is something that will hold together for as long as possible.
