Very good reading so far... As to tank stripes, I use 3. Which in my local group we decided was Captain, in the movie the other biker salutes the one that captures Leia as mentioned and calls him sir and he has 4. So we decided that must indicate some sort of rank and since most of the others have 6 stripes we assumed that lesser bars is higher rank. I am making a Captain rank TD so I tried to keep my rank the same on both suits as is my buddy Proxis, who is a TD Sergeant, and so he will use 4 bars on his tank assuming that the guy on film is the Lance Sergeant. (Theres nothing to prove otherwise afterall) Not sure if it legit or not but thats what we decided upon... As to the out of armor uniform, I think it is safe to assume it is similar to the Tie Reserve suit, might just be the flight suit with rank bars and officer hat, same with a dress uniform (black and hat). Ranks will probably be something we never know for certain on this.

Do you guys need the t strap? My bells dont have that and they stay on fine... You could always put some velcro on your flight suit where the should bell sits and be done with straps all together? I may install some snaps on my suit and do just that, but so far Ive not had my bells fall off or out of place and all I use is the lower strap part...

Armor and helmet advice for a tk new to scouts
BlitzJaeger replied to tk 7261's topic in Getting Started
The only extra strapping I used was to add straps on the ends of the pants to hold the legs in while putting boots on and I added suspenders to my bund to hold it up. Thanks! I just made it up looking at pictures and other peoples designs, I am actually going to be offering some pouches and bunds on the side if you are interested. And yes, my suit was tailored but I may do a new one myself now that I saw how he did it... -
What to wear underneath flight suit.
BlitzJaeger replied to obiwan-kukumber's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I wear a fitted two piece outfit like underarmor, I find I actually stay cooler in that than anything else. I ddont get overly hot or sweat as much, but I may try some of the suggestions in here for comparisons sake... -

Thanks! I bought a Red Kap flight suit but it is actually a bit too small and I may sell it later on. I suggest a size larger than you think you need if you get one...(I bought a small and it is a little too small) I dont think you will need lifts honestly...next to the majority of people you wont notice much height disadvantage. As to mods: I cut my shoulderbells corners off and tapered them (like Panda troopers build) but did not change lengths. I fit m chest and back armor to myself and had a friend mark the connections at the top, then taped them with painters tape and heat gunned the top so it would change shape to my size, then dunked it in ice water to freeze it. Same on the belt, heated the two plastic additions up and bent the belt into a smaller size then dunked in ice water. I cut 0.5 inches off the bottom and both sides of my boot holster, then rounded corners. I dont use a helmet liner, just foam window sealer for now. I can show you pictures of anything you like, just let me know! =) -

Im exactly your size Pat! 5'6'' and 120 on the nose =) I have an SC kit and a Kropserkel helmet. I sewed my own bund, vest and pouches to my size. You can see next to most of the 5 foot crowd youll look fine, the only guys that make us seem "small" are the big dudes like my buddy Mike (Ozarkscout) the 6 foot plus club as it were haha. Feel free to ask questions! -
Welcome! Which TK build do you have? I am working on two Anovos kits, one as TK and one to make a TD.

Little scout aims big - DC-15x scratch build

Shaping up nicely. Look forward to your results. -
It IS, quite honestly, very frustrating, because most people will turn to the CRL and it is wrong... So the correct answer is White knees, silver belt, silver holster. Because working toward a Lancer build is hard when there are conflicting answers! Lol

Are not the belt rivets also supposed to be white though?

The SC kit comes with decals and for the armor at least, they are fine, I actually didnt use the chest box decal but I used the recess of where it was to block off my chest part and paint it gray. Worked great. The tank stripes and piping decals were fine. Did not use the tank topper decals because I wanted paint for that. The helmet decals I would get from FAC or Trooperbay.

KS is actually pretty good, at least all the ones I have seen. You can email them for ordering info and he will send you a PDF sheet (or his wife will) or you can buy one in the trade forums maybe. -

Hey Adam, I too am a smaller guy. I am 5'6'' and you can see the Studio Creations armor on me here, with a Kropserkel helmet, which I think looks great on smaller troops. I picked this picture because my fellow 501 Navy Trooper here says he is 5'4" so you can see about how you would look as we are close in height. -
You can buy boots from Chris, his are very nice as well and he delivers fast. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=13640

I have a KS helmet that I bought from fellow trooper "Ozarkscout" and I love it. His was purchased several years ago though. He now has an Altmans like you do. -
BikerScout007's RS Props Helmet
BlitzJaeger replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I can see where if you are a big dude you would want a helmet that matches, so proportion wise that will look better. The lines on it seem really crisp too and it for sure makes the KS look smaller. Being only 5'6" (or 5'8"ish in my scout boots) I like the KS because I look the proper size next to taller guys...a helmet like that would dwarf me! At any rate it looks good, although it would bug me wearing the hard hat liner, I hated those in my Anovos kits and removed them. It is also a little disappointing how much lack to detail you found! Those things should not be rushed or sloppy when people pay the kinda money that they do! I will be curious to see it on your finished outfit though. You look like you just about fill the doorway so I take it you are tall! This will look better on you than the smaller KS. -
Tank Greebly Rivet for Lancer?
BlitzJaeger replied to BlitzJaeger's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hah, well thanks for reviewing my little issue none the less, I think my own weirdness is going to gorce me to center it in the end... Thanks guys! -
Hey guys, so I am mostly lurking on here but I have bumped into something and need help. I am wanting to go for Lancer status, and my Studio Creations kit has a predrilled hole in my Tank Greebly that is not centered. I marked the ACTUAL center, do I use my mark instead or does it even matter for Lancer? Also, how is the placement on the hump, is this ok? Thanks!

Thanks for being so expeditious guys. Fitting for scouts I suppose...I appreciate the help!

NIce work. I bet you are pumped to be so close to finsihing, I like your weathering. And it must be said, as a fellow Sandy, nice TD!
