Just purchased some military grade CP style padding for my Altmann. I figured that'd be enough cushioning.

Good advice from fellow scouts on here that I've found is that they tend to run small, unless you like a snug fit, better to size up. I couldn't order a size up from a small, they only started at large after my size, so we'll see how they feel.

Gloves, and suit might be a good start. I'd rather get the bucket out of the way first since that's one of the most expensive pieces, but to each their own. Happy building!

Go with an Altmann through Spike if you're worried about size. Those will fit bigger heads.

SC makes a good bucket. I'm caught between an Altmann, and one of those at the moment.

I'll see about messaging Spike when I get the money saved up. Do you know how much they usually run for? I don't have a limit.

Completely just read through this WIP, and wow! I am impressed. By far, one of the nicest builds I've seen on here (I know this is an old topic, and I'm bumping it back to the top for myself, and other future scouts). Thank you for posting, I'm saving up for my SC armor, and will be using this as a reference guide to get lancer status on top of my approval.

Have you checked out the SC armor? I'm pretty set on getting my gear from them. Jeff is a good businessman from the likes of other scouts on the board who have purchased theirs from him. It's ABS as well, and light. Good luck on your journey! I can't wait to see your WIP.

I have been eyeballing SC like crazy, but I want to be sure that I'm making the right decision with my pocketbook. I have a fairly small head (comes with being a chick), and from what I've read here on the board, SC is the way to go for the more average size, and small noggins. Any opinions? I haven't really been considering any others, though I've kept an open mind about them. In all reality, I want something that looks accurate, and doesn't require hefty modifications. I want a 501st approved bucket at the end of the day.
